Merseyside police have installed mini cameras inside public toilet cubicles to catch homosexual activity. Cameras set at waist and head height to catch sexual offences being carried out. Actually also caught a police officer carrying out a sexual offence. I note they named and shamed some offenders but didnt name the Police Sergeant
Even though I hold opinions that might be considered "homophobic" by some I do think this is an invasion of our privacy as the cameras wont discriminate between legitimate and illegal use.
I have written a letter of complaint to Merseyside police requesting what authority they can do this under.
The article says the events were recorded on a dvd and we know how safe these can be!
I for one will never feel safe having a pee in public again!

This story could have been taken straight from the pages of www.thedailymash.co.uk
I don't suppose it's funny, but why am I laughing? Maybe I'm imagining the policemen peering at their CCTV screens hour after hour watching people widdle and, presumably, longing for something more interesting to happen.
What a way to earn a living.

Further to some of our Public Toilets having CCTV installed to catch illegal sexual activity we now have this story in Liverpool Echo

Now 14000 new cameras in one area of Liverpool does not make me feel safer, on the contrary it says we must have a huge problem. Or is that what its meant to do.

They give a nice graph that tells us although traffic and population are going up Deaths are coming down Ooh Ahh mind anyone remember what a pedestrin looks like I've forgotten, one needs to travel to London to see em
