...debating the new terror 'detention without charge extention' bill with that woman leader of 'Liberty'. Someone phoned in and raised the topic of the governments' refusal to have a public enquiry into 7/7 and PP did a runner! didn't even say goodbye!! |

It was on the Victoria Derbyshire show between 9 and 10am today, in reply to the person above. |

Did I hear that right?
Did he really admit to discussing live cases with 'former colleagues'? Hasn't that just dropped them right in it? |

You did.
He probably has. Hopefully.
Quote: | Peter Power: Let's go back to just one case last year where the police uncovered 3 terabytes of data kept on encrypted computer which they consider to be evidence. That's the equivalent of having to analyse 3000 laptop computers and that's what we're talking about.
Victoria Derbyshire: But they did it.
Peter Power: They didn't do it, funnily enough. They couldn't get through it all. And these . . .
Victoria Derbyshire: And what was the, what was the consequence of that?
Peter Power: No, no hang on.
Peter Power: But, but, the, the, the evidence is very often on computer, it's encrypted, it's in code word and probably even then in a foreign language.
Victoria Derbyshire: Sorry but what, what was the con, I mean if you're making that as a . .
Peter Power: Yes
Victoria Derbyshire: ... as a point to back up your argument . . .
Peter Power: Yes
Victoria Derbyshire: . . . what was the consequence of them not being able to , er, er, you know, decode this, this computer evidence?
Peter Power: Well the actual case in question was the one where it is alleged that a number of er, airliners had been brought down across the Atlantic, that causes us now, tremendous heartache whenever we go to an, to an airport because we have to surrender our liquids and everything else. But it was felt very very strongly that the more you look, the more you find and there had to be a point where they had to cut it off before they can go through every computer, that they wanted to do.
Victoria Derbyshire: But those cases haven't even come to court yet.
Peter Power: No, I know. Which is why we can't really openly talk about it. But I think you'll find that Jacqui Smith herself . . .
Victoria Derbyshire: Well then you've no idea . . .
Peter Power: No, no, no.
Victoria Derbyshire: . . . whether they've managed to collect the evidence or not.
Peter Power: No, no well . . .
Victoria Derbyshire: . . . because they haven't been presented in court.
Peter Power: I mean I'm, I'm not sitting here hopefully as someone who has just walked off the street. I am in touch with colleagues of mine and, believe it or not, I tend to believe much of what they say, although of course as Shami said, that some people have allegedly been discredited, which I don't think is the case today, but what it does lead me to as a third point, and it's a point that I think most people will share, that we just simply don't believe our politicians now, following the events where we heard the prime minister allegedly not being truthful about why he didn't have an election and then the sleaze, we've actually ended up with a situation that [the] very people, who we should trust and believe, who actually hold the reigns of power in our country . . .

That last paragraph is illuminating.
It is illustrative of his conscious mind reasserting control over the free flowing, ego driven, revelations that preceded it.
Quote: | Translation:
*. I've been rumbled. Now I will stop talking about that and blame someone else. |
All of which could be very useful information in an upcoming terror trial no doubt.
Or, alternatively, at the very least. Power digging his own, personal and commercial grave.
Peter Power is an arrogant, egotist.
He and his ilk will fall because of those constraints.
When you've been used to lying for so long, the mind has it's own defence.
They cannot help themselves, because their suppressed conscience, as always, makes itself heard.
Quote: | Wherever egos.
I go too. |

I thought that the presenter held P Power "arguments" to account fairly well, in the rare occurence that he actually managed to make an argument.
Emailed the show, as I feel it is positive to encourage the MSM to maintain a rational, analytical and critical approach to people such as Peter Power, who present themselves as Authorities and Experts.
Hi Victoria,
I listened to your discussion this Thursday 6th December, on extending the maximum number of days a suspect can be held without charge.
I would like to say I was impressed by your approach, which I found fresh, reasonable, intelligent and unbiased.
One actually felt there this was a presenter who respected the intelligence of the audience, in this dumbed down age.
I felt Peter Powers contribution to be none of the above.
Commendably, you did not did not allow what can only be described as his verbal diatribe go unchallenged.
Regards |

Tim Sparke called in didn't he? Brought up the 9/11 hijackers being trained at US military institutions. |
