The family of a Brazilian mistakenly shot dead by police in London has called for "justice" after arriving in Britain.Jean Charles de Menezes was killed at Stockwell Underground station the day after the failed attacks on London on July 21.His parents, Matozinhos Otone Da Silva and Maria Otone de Menezes have now flown into Heathrow from Rio accompanied by Jean Charles's brother, Giovani Da Silva, and Giovani's wife, Iranildes, and three young children.

Mrs Otone de Menezes told waiting reporters:
"We are searching for justice. I want the police to be punished."
The family are in Britain to be updated on the inquiry into the death of the 27-year-old electrician.

The investigation into his death is being carried out by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

The IPCC has promised the family will be the first to see much of the evidence it has uncovered about the shooting.

However, IPCC chair Nick Hardwick has said there would be some material that could not be disclosed for reasons of national security.

The family are likely to visit Stockwell Underground and may also meet with Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair.

Scotland Yard is paying for the trip, which comes a month after three senior Brazilian officials spent four days in London on a fact-finding mission.

Mr de Menezes was shot seven times in the head.

Read this article and you will see that the Independent Police Complaints Commission, through their CEO Nick Hardwick, has issued the customary warning that certain information cannot be disclosed due to national security. This is the old chestnut excuse which is used habitually to cover up government misdemeanours.

Who is this woman they've arrested, an IPCC employee? and on what charge?

How can it be a matter of national security to reveal that Jean Charles was not wearing a heavy jacket nor did he jump over the ticket barrier? Is it now illegal to point out when the police are lying?

This smells of police using the law to cover up evidence of their breaking the law.
