This may have been covered on this board already. When I searched for Netanyahu, I found very long threads, and I have no way to search for individual references within the threads.

The controversy continues over an Associated Press story detailing the remarks of a "senior Israeli official" who claimed that Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in London for an economic conference, was warned by Scotland Yard "minutes" in advance of the terrorist bombings. According to the original story, Netanyahu's prior knowledge was the cause of his not showing up at the conference, which took place at a hotel near the Liverpool Underground station. A subsequent AP report contained the Israeli's government's denial of a prior warning, and claimed that Netanyahu received a warning after the blasts.

Although the first AP story was never retracted, that didn't prevent Israel's American amen corner from claiming that it had been withdrawn, nor did it stop Stratfor.com from coming out with an analysis claiming that Israel knew "days" in advance, and that it wasn't Scotland Yard that informed Netanyahu. Former intelligence analyst Tommy Preston, of Preston Global, concurred.

I saw a strap on BBC News around 11am on the day which said (obviously not exactly):

"Israeli Embassy say they received warning minutes before"

Which is why I think this is so important:

I also saw the Governator of California, during the fires, say something like "...we have... it has caused terrible damage..."

Here is Netanyahu denying that he had received any forewarning, in a CNN interview on July 8th:
Quote:
Joining me now from London, the former prime minister and now finance minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. Good to have you with us.

BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, ISRAELI FINANCE MINISTER: Thank you, Lou.

DOBBS: Let me first ask you, there are reports, and they surfaced yesterday almost immediately and continued today, that Israeli security forces received advance word of these explosions. Any truth to that?

NETANYAHU: Well, certainly not. If there was any advance notice, then I don't know of any. It certainly didn't get to me. I was en route to the hotel right above that terminal. And I was stopped by the British security detail, who told my security, my Israeli security detail, that we just had an explosion. So my guys had absolutely no idea that this was about to happen...

DOBBS: You were on your way to the Liverpool Street...

NETANYAHU: And actually, I was on -- yes, to an economic conference right above the place where the first train blew up. So we had no idea this was going to happen.

That denial by Netenyahu seems somwwhat doubtful. The original stories have him being told to remain in his Hotel room at Russel Square, don't they? See Nafeez Ahmed, The London Bombs p.132-4; Webster Tarpley, Synthetic Terror p.461. On the day of July 7th, the US intelligence agency Strategic Forecasting made this statement about Israeli precognition of the event:
Quote:
Contrary to original claims that Israel was warned “minutes before” the first attack, unconfirmed rumors in intelligence circles indicate that the Israeli government actually warned London of the attacks “a couple of days” previous.
It concluded that the British government had ‘sat on this information for days and failed to respond’: ‘Israel warned United kingdom about possible bomb attacks’ Stratfor Consulting Agency, 7.7.05. http://fairuse.1accesshost.com/news2/stratfor-london.html ‘Report: Israel was notified ahead of first blast’ July 7, 13.30, IsraelNN.com. This story on Israeli Army Radio news made out that it was Scotland Yard which notified the Israeli Embassy in advance. www.conspiracyproof.org/london775/inncom001.jpg www.conspiracyproof.org/london775/index.html. www.whatreallyhappened.com/londonarchive.html Two weeks later the head of the Israeli Mossad, General Meir Dagan, said that he had warned Benjamin Netanyahu at 08.40 AM, on 7/7/2005, ten minutes before the first blast occurred, not to go to his appointment.

This article has now disappeared off of the Arutz Sheva website

was here

Quote:
Report: Israel Was Warned Ahead of First Blast

Arutz Sheva | July 7 2005

(IsraelNN.com) Army Radio quoting unconfirmed reliable sources reported a short time ago that Scotland Yard had intelligence warnings of the attacks a short time before they occurred.

The Israeli Embassy in London was notified in advance, resulting in Finance Minister Binyamin Netanyahu remaining in his hotel room rather than make his way to the hotel adjacent to the site of the first explosion, a Liverpool Street train station, where he was to address and economic summit.

At present, train and bus service in London have been suspended following the series of attacks. No terrorist organization has claimed responsibility at this time.

Israeli officials stress the advanced Scotland Yard warning does not in any way indicate Israel was the target in the series of apparent terror attacks.
