I can. The position of 'Lord Mayor of London' is and apparently always has been reserved for an amenable front man for the money-bagses - including Red Ken!
Brian's better off staying outside that system - even he would be squashed eventually, otherwise.
First things first - and having had this conversation already with Brian, I won't hesitate to reiterate:-
Get rid of the present rotten power structure first - sweep the stinking Aegean stable clean - then and maybe not even then, offer up iconic figures to 'lead' us toward an understanding of 'people power' (whatever that is!).
Sorry to have to disagree with you, stelios, but Brian has already suffered enough, IMO.
We all need to be Brians (PBUH!) if we're ever to dig ourselves out of this slothful yet cosy hole we've dug for ourselves...
A few million Brians clogging Threadneedle & Wall streets for a few weeks would soon snap us out of this ongoing nightmare led by a very few barely human financiers...

Allow me to clarify things, he is considering running and i believe will.
I think he will win or at least come very close.
He is a far more capable person to be running our city.
Red Ken is the most crooked guy to be leading London. He has blood all over his hands. He appointed CIA Bob Kiley and Mossad Verint/ICTS to run our transport system. He appointed Labour donor Capita to rub the conjestion charge after which i noticed that instead of Top Man he started shopping for suits at Austin Reed.
etc
Brian Haw is far more intelligent than Red Ken.
Independants can win just look at Ray Mallon in Middlesborough.
If Brian wins he will clean up politics and start a revolution of people power in Britain.
All truthers should try and persuade him to run and when the time comes throw all our efforst into making him succeed. _________________

Let's be clear about this. We are not talking about the position of Lord Mayor of London. That position is chosen by a most undemocratic system involving voting by the finance houses of the small City of London only. The people don't get a say in it. Ken Livingston is not the Lord Mayor of London, but the Mayor of London. That is a new post introduced by the Blair government. The mayor is elected by all voters in the Greater London area, many millions of people. As it is a new post it has only ever had one office holder, Ken Livingston. After the government had set up the position they put up their own candidate to run for it, Frank Dobson and fought tooth and nail to get him elected and were highly embarrassed when Ken, who had been expelled from the Labour Party for not toeing the party line, won. As an independent Ken won.
He fought tooth and nail to prevent the London underground from being privatised by the government and lost. Hence we have dodgy crooked firms running the underground and its security, a situation which probably facilitated the 7/7 bombings.
On the basis that an independent can and has won the office of Mayor of London I would encourage Brian to stand for it. I believe it would demonstrate the huge amount of anti-war sentiment which exists in this conurbation. I don't think Brian would win, but I think he would give them an even nastier shock than they got when Ken as an independent did win.
However, I do not approve of a campaign to persuade Brian to stand based on any false allegations that he has already agreed to do so. We are a truth campaign and should avoid falsehood at all costs, otherwise we defeat our own principles. |
