Jones persists in (misin)interpreting the molten metal pouring out of the 81st floor of the South Tower shortly before it fell as steel melted by thermate. I guess he conveniently forgot his conversations with Christopher Bollyn,

who told him that he had been contacted by an ex-employee of Fujii Bank, who said that the bank housed on this reinforced floor large numbers of LEAD batteries providing electric current as a back-up for its computers in the event of a power failure. Lead melts at 327.5 degrees Centigrade - easily within reach of the temperatures reached by office fires. The molten metal that Jones misinterpreted as iron was probably all this lead heated to its melting point by the fires caused by Flight 175 when it hit the tower at about the same level as that where the batteries were housed. Instead of that, Jones would have us rather believe the silly notion that the batteries were dummies filled with thermate! What a lot of use they would have been in collapsing the South Tower, which, anyway started to collapse ABOVE the 81st floor!
His so-called evidence of thermate - sulphur in iron spherules found in dust from a house 100metres from the location of WTC2 - was more likely merely microscopic particles of iron blasted and melted briefly by the high explosives, which trapped sulphur dioxide generated by burning gypsum in wallboards as they cooled, solidified and got scattered everywhere. We don't need Jones' redundant thermate to account for the high concentration of sulphur and other elements found in thermate. Read the analytical reports of all the contaminants in the air over New York a day or two after 9/11:

They all have more conventional explanations.
But I guess he is so wedded to his irrelevant obsession that he will offer any silly excuse to downplay scientific reports that totally undermine his bogus claim. |

| And lead batteries give so much weight to the floor on which they stand that they cause the building to fall through the path of most resistance at virtually free-fall speed!!! Obvious innit!!? |
