Harrow Council Using Lie Detectors on Phone Calls

In order to catch Benefit cheats Harrow council have started using Lie Detector machines on phone calls. You can bet then this technology has been used elsewhere for years. I wonder how well it would work in Parliament. Have not the UK people the right to know if their MPs are lying or "being economical with the truth". As MPs are not allowed to accuse fellow MPs of "lying" they may have to change the name of the machine---- perhaps to a "Truth Detector Machine". Doubt whether Mr Bliar would have triggered the machine when questioned over WMDs and the like.
