Members of We Are Change UK attended the QPR vs Burnley football game on 12 February 2008 to protest against Alastar Campbell, who is a lifelong Burnley fan and was in the crowd.
Alistair Campbell was involved in the construction of the dodgy dossier that helped take Britain to war with Iraq and also in the naming of David Kelly.
Since leaving office, Mr Campbell has become the Chairman of Fundraising for Leukaemia Research

There is a small group of Stoppers* and 9-11 'Truthers' known as 'We Are Change' (WAC) who some of you may have seen in recent You Tube confrontation with Nick Cohen.(nasty racist..)
On Wednesday, the WACOs were in action again - choosing to make Alastair Campbell's attendance at a football match a chance for protest. How contemporary - a protest against the man who used to be the press officer to the man who used to be the Prime Minister.
The match was at Loftus Road, London and it was Queens Park Rangers up against Campbell's Burnley and with the home side 2-0 up, two WACOs decided to invade the pitch and make their protest.
And what a charming protest it was, as the video below shows, they unveiled a banner declaring 'Campbell Causes Leukemia'. Campbell of course is a major fundraiser for Leukemia research and his best friend and his best friend's daughter died of the disease.
Nice touch eh? Whatever the actual 'cause' of the WACOs you have to wonder how it was helped by disrupting a football match to make a tasteless personal attack such as that?
Campbell has thick skin but the incident goes to prove what John Rentoul in the Independent calls the "Stoppers' irrational hatred" and "psychology impervious to argument and steeped in negatives."
There was a happy ending to the story though - at least one of the WACOs was a QPR fan and after he was escorted from the stadium (he could face a lengthy ban from the venue) his team fell to pieces.

Sorry guys, but the slogan is surely too esoteric for hardly anyone in the crowd or watching on TV to get it. Has to be clear as a bell what you're getting at.

For some strange reason this racist site regularly flags up Tatchell.
Anyway, enjoy the Comments:
I got this up on Harry's Blog (don't know how long it will stay!!):
Once upon a time there was a guy in a cave, and he sent 19 arabs to hijack 4 planes and use them to attack buildings in the USA. Their audacious and murderous plan suceeded, they fooled the US defenses and caused two White Elephant condemned buildings (which NYC had requested tenders to demolish, but which would have been too expensive, as they were chock-a-block with asbestos) to collapse, murdering close on 3,000 people in the process. They also managed to fly one of the 'highjacked planes' into the Pentagon, not only without getting shot down, but without even getting caught on CCTV!! You believe that nonsense? Who are the lunatics?
How does Alastair Campbell cause leukemia? By facilitating a war with lies, which then caused Iraq to be poisoned for ever (well, 4 1/2 billion years, the half-life of DU) with about 3,000 tons of Depleted Uranium. Do some web-searches and find what DU does to children, foetoeses, and humans in general. So, yes, Campbell was instrumental in causing, and continueing to cause, leukemia. _________________ 'And he (the devil) said to him: To thee will I give all this power, and the glory of them; for to me they are delivered, and to whom I will, I give them'. Well done. Brave action and great initiative......
....however I must agree with Tony about the message. The only people who are going to 'get' this message are people like ourselves.....so what's the point?
A banner is surely meant to communicate a message to the uncommitted. These words were not well chosen.
The basic message that Alistair Campbell is a war criminal who was instrumental in the lies the government told and hence the decision to send this country into an illegal war in which other war criminals dropped DU bombs on innocent people, condemning many thousands of Iraqi children and their children's children to leukemia and death is a sound one, 100%.
It is indeed ironic that Alastair Campbell supports leukemia research in this country.
Could the action have been done better? Should the banner have said something else? Quite possibly.
But of course if anyone thinks they can do better the solution is to contact we are change and offer your ideas and support or alternatively set up your own website and do your own action.

I know WAC have their hands full executing these very good actions, but is there anyone of our posters who support their actions, and could help to follow up on ideas they have initiated? To wit, can someone check out the other members of whatever kind of Board the Leukemia organisation have, who are their sponsors, etc., with a view to approaching them with DU information? I cannot do this, but perhaps someone has the knowledge and time to get this info, then put the info on this thread so we can plan something. _________________ 'And he (the devil) said to him: To thee will I give all this power, and the glory of them; for to me they are delivered, and to whom I will, I give them'. We Are Change UK had no hand in designing in the banner and merely helped facilitate what occurred - at very short notice. _________________ www.truthaction.org/forum www.wearechange.org.uk

Ditto, also the halftime period should have been used instead of during play, afterall they wont portray you as members of WAC anyway so there's no point during play. Some may even use the excuse that was why they eventually lost the game after being 2-0 up in the 1st half.
Further, to use the leukemia analogy without context in the demo would seem distasteful in many peoples eyes.Leukemia Research are seen by the general public as a noble cause, when you attack Campbell you could be seen to attack LR, and alienate people to yourselves and the real hidden meaning in the message.
WAC should not be doing things on short notice without discussion of all the variables.

Come on, guys an' gals! Don't be shy! Get on Harry's Blog an' 'give 'em 'ell! Only joshin, but get on there and give some nice reasoned arguments. I'm not doing too badly:
'Montaq' asks 'What's this then?'-exactly! What the hell is it? Where are the 80-odd video pictures of whatever hit the Pentagon which we estimate should be available? Oh, sorry, 'National Security' precludes their release. @ anon, if you want an expert assessment of DU damage, try Major Rocke's testimony in 'Beyond Treason'

@ dmatr, if you or others are so clued up, how is it we cannot get anyone to debate the 9/11 issue with us? All you're lot can come up with is obscenities or 'conspiracy theorists' labels.
To anyone who really believes we're a bunch of nutters, I suggest before the commit finger to keypad again on this issue, they watch the Jersy Girls on '911: Press for Truth' and 'In Their Own Words'. They all lost their husbands in the Twin Towers collapse: http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=3979568779414136481

Sorry, all for now as it's past my bedtime.

I was searching everywhere for posts among QPR fans on this. It seems some may have got the message. _________________ Currently working on a new website
