Actually I didn't.
but a lot of people did
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7266136.stm
Check out this coincidental old Royal or US Air Force base near Market Rasen: Faldingworth. The only disused airfield in the UK listed, I kid you not, as used for "Explosives Testing and Storage".
here's something?
from 2 weeks ago?
MP says West Lindsey council must stop explosions at airfield
http://www.marketrasenmail.co.uk/news/MP-says-West-Lindsey-council.376 9112.jp
AREA MP Edward Leigh lays responsibility for dealing with the contensious explosions at Faldingworth airfield firmly at the door of West Lindsey District Council - specifically on the shoulders of chief executive Duncan Sharkey.
“I will tell him he must use enforcement powers to close the company down,” he told an angry meeting of residents at Newtoft last Friday.
“They have the power but they have been reluctant to do it. Duncan Sharkey is the chief executive and he should get a personal grip on it.”
This is the second wave of explosions rocking villages around the former RAF station, causing damage to properties and misery for residents. Little has changed from the episode 18 months ago when West Lindsey took noise nuisance readings.
Pensioner Sheila Blenkinsop of Newton by Toft, is only now having damage repaired that was caused by the September 2006 explosions, and has to pay an Insurance excess of £1,000.
“It’s just as bad as last time,” she said. “The blasts are going on four days a week.”
Newtoft’s Dom Pavia said it was ‘absolutely horrendous’. “There is a blast every 15 or 20 minutes. Video cameras I’ve set up to record the blasts and vibrations have been knocked over. There are cracks appearing in my walls and chimney breast and ceilings have dropped.”
Mr Leigh accepted there had been some progress since 2006 in that enforcement officers had been able to get onto the site.
“They’re saying it is vital work in the national interest,” he said “but it must be possible to do that and be aware of residents.”
He advised residents to ‘band together and take legal action’.
“It is a scandalous state of affairs. I don’t think there is any doubt these cracks are down to these explosions and you would be perfectly entitled to take legal action against the company,” he said.
Mr Sharkey insists the council is working with both the site operator and local residents to resolve the issue.
“Our aim is to strike a balance with this company, which has 34 full-time employees and carries out a perfectly lawful business, with the wishes of the local community who want disruption kept to an absolute minimum,” he said.
He said the site was licensed by national government and West Lindsey’s role was to m
ake sure no statutory nuisance was being caused.
“Last year there was a breach in the regulations and the council stopped a different company from operating. On this occasion noise tests have not produced readings which amount to a statutory nuisance and the site owners have installed vibration equipment at the nearest property to the tests which are also monitoring the position.
“It is not, and never will be, West Lindsey’s intention to close down lawful businesses which provide employment for local people. More than 100 people are employed by this project both directly and indirectly.
“However, the residents have to be considered too and we will continue to work with both parties to minimise any disruption and inconvenience.”
Alan Longden, at Faldingworth, believes the company is just going to carry on.
“They don’t look at the impact it is having on the surrounding area. They’ve got a licence but that doesn’t look beyond the site itself. The problem is that it is in flat open countryside, surrounded by villages. It should be on a remote site.”
The full article contains 548 words and appears in Market Rasen Mail newspaper.

From wikipedia - mustn't get carried away but......
After the war the base was used for storage of weapons. becoming a nuclear weapons store in 1957. It closed in 1972 and was later used by BMARC as a weapons test site.
RAF Faldingworth was an airfield used by RAF Bomber Command during and after World War II. It was located close to the village of Faldingworth in Lincolnshire. It was used during the war by number 300 (Polish) Squadron and a memorial is now in place to them at the end of the main runway.
Faldingworth entered service life as Toft Grange decoy airfield and later as a satellite airfield of RAF Lindholme. Late in 1943 it became a satellite of RAF Ludford Magna.
Current Ordnance Survey maps show the remains of a typical wartime bomber airfield, with the former storage site overlaying the south-western part of the airfield, about 2km east of Spridlington. There is a cluster of RAF-built housing north-east of the airfield area, and a group of RAF buildings used as an industrial estate.
Blimey! Could it have been an underground nuke?
Wikipedia wrote: | BMARC (The British Manufacture and Research Company) was a UK-based firm designing and producing defence products, particularly aircraft cannon and naval anti-aircraft cannon. It was based on Springfield Road (a part of the A607), Grantham, Lincolnshire.
The company was created during the start of the World War II rearmament period solely as a weapons producer. In 1943, for example, it fulfilled 46 % of the UK's demand for the Hispano-Suiza 20 mm cannon. The remainder came from the Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA) - 25%, a Royal Ordnance Factory - 25 % and the Royal Small Arms Factory - 3 %. At the time of the Battle of Britain in 1941, 20 mm cannon were only just starting to arm the Spitfire and Hurricane. By 1943, the RAF had converted entirely to cannon armament for its fighters. Grantham received 21 raids by the Luftwaffe for precisely this reason, which killed 70 people in 1941 (around the Commercial Road area).
In 1974, the company acquired a site at Faldingworth (near Market Rasen) that had the capability to store nuclear weapons such as Redbeard and WE.177. BMARC was a subsidiary of Hispano-Suiza, then was owned until 1987 by Oerlikon, the Swiss defence contractor, when it was sold to Astra Holdings (head office in the USA). In the 1990s, the company was investigated for alleged illegal dealings with Iraq.
After the financial collapse of Astra Holdings, in April 1992, BMARC was bought by British Aerospace briefly becoming part of Royal Ordnance. The company later closed in 1992, and the site was sold in 1994.
Current use of the site
The former site's offices are now home to the Springfield Business Park, with the rest of the site (factory) developed for housing. |

yep felt it to, it felt strange, at first i thought something had crashed. so i went outside to check but, nothing. it was only then that i thought it must of been an earthquake.
i think you'll find thats why everyone went outside intially. they were expecting to see a plane in the street or a car in next doors living room, or a small meteor impact, something like that.
i remember the one from 2002 and i knew instantly that one was a earthquake when it happened. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_Dudley_earthquake this new one was strange, but proberbly just an earthquake to.

here is the 2002 earthquake again. somebody has changed the wiki page today to say 5.0 for some reason. when all other reports say 4.7/4.8 including on the wiki page.
Date 22 September 2002
Magnitude 4.7 ML
Depth: 14.0 kilometres (9 mi)
Epicenter location: 52.53° N 2.16° W
Countries affected United Kingdom
Casualties: None
it certainly said 4.7 earlier, but someone has tried to change it, for unknown reasons.
The 2002 Dudley earthquake was an earthquake registering 5.0[1] on the Richter scale that struck the Midlands of England, on 22 September 2002 23:54 UTC (23 September, 00:54 local time) and lasted approximately 20 seconds.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_Dudley_earthquake
Large parts of England and Wales have been hit by an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2275158.stm
why would somebody change it 5.0 for no reason. to make todays seem less siginficant?

Because earthquakes like this are so rare here I immediately looked out of my window to see if there had been an explosion or something. Then the next thing I did was go online to check if it was an earthquake and if the epicentre was near any airbases, power plants or anything similar. Maybe slightly paronoid but hey, we are living in an era of terror after all....
Underground nuke testing? Or perhaps more advanced weaponry??

There seem to be many earthquakes that are occurring off coastal areas.
Is this a coincidence or something else?

No need to feel paranoid or if something's creating this kind of phenomena. This thing is on the increase as the energy feeds in from the sun, and the PTB are doing their best to interfere and react with it, as it threatens their very existence .A big British earthquake? Lol. Welcome this - the parasites are threatened with exposure and dissolution

Someone called Harry who has a Zionist blog.............
....has picked up on this research pilloring me for digging this stuff out and raising the spectre of secret underground explosives testing at Faldingworth possibly having something to do with Tuesday's earthquake.
And here's more from the link to the news article above. And this site is supposed to be closed!
Quote: |
SECRET WEAPONS
09:45 - 18 February 2008
..........."On this particular day, while we were doing our test by setting fire to some ammo tins with live ammunition inside, there were about three or four explosions coming from another test site.
"You could physically feel the ground shaking. My boss said that they were not digging a hole and burying it. They were doing it above ground."
While on the site, he says, he drove past an indoor tunnel with a huge screen to contain explosions.
"You can basically detonate an explosion on one side and watch it from the other side of the screen," he said.
And he witnessed the extreme security surrounding the facility.
"Your identity is checked to get on site," he said.
"I took a wrong turn trying to find out where we were and people appeared asking who I was."
The site was originally built as a high-security nuclear bomb store for RAF Scampton.
Residents living in nearby villages have complained over the noise and vibrations coming from the site but efforts to find out what goes on there have so far been fruitless.
The Echo's source said that companies paid to test their munitions at the facility, which is licensed by the Health and Safety Executive under the Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations 2005.
But he moved to quash rumours that bombs were being manufactured, tested or stored there.
"I don't believe that anything like that is going on," he said.
Residents, including Sheila Blenkinsop (74) from Newton-by-Toft, near Faldingworth, say that cracks have appeared in their homes following some explosions.
"All this is news to us, because we find it so hard to get any information about what goes on there," she said."We've been here 19 years but it is only over the last two years that there have been explosions."
David Humpage (61), from Toft-next-Newton, said: "I'm trying to find out who exactly is licensed for what up there. The whole place is so shrouded in secrecy - it needs a light shining on it."

more today
Quote: | Michael Lebreton (51), from Newtoft, said that on Tuesday explosions were going off at 20 and 40-minute intervals.
"The explosions are getting very bad - they're shaking the house," he said.
Mr Briggs, the owner of the test site, is neither a sound expert nor a seismology expert, yet has now put himself forward as such. He spends five minutes reading the manual for some sound "measurement" toy, takes a load of "readings" which suit him - and without a blush offers this as "the scientific point of view" - and we are expected to swallow this tosh. Mr Briggs is about as scientific as Noddy. I AM a sound expert; until Mr Briggs shows any grasp on the acoustic modelling limits of this situation (or even a basic kiddies grip on logarithmic transfer functions), there is no reason why anyone should give him the time of day. Self-interest is not science.
David Humpage, Church Lane, Toft-next-Newton
'Anonymous', who may well be someone from the company behind these explosions, is talking nonsense. People bought their houses in the knowledge that this was a closed RAF base, not an explosives site. Even when it was an RAF base it didn't test explosives like this. There are plenty of military sites across the UK which are miles from the nearest houses - that's the place to test explosives. not near houses. West Lindsey are doing their usual thing - nothing! When a business is causing local houses to shake, that's a pretty clear indication that there's a statutory nuisance, which WLDC are there to prevent. What more evidence do they need to take action? Or perhaps there's some other reason for their inaction that we're not aware of?

On Loose Ends (radio 4) this evening, Omid Djalili says he was in Grimsby 3 miles from the epicentre when the earthquake happened, and says it started with two big bangs 'like terrorist bombs'.
He's not questioning the official version or anything. He just says it in passing.

Deary me - earthquake bombs now, is it? Good ole Fulford... Perhaps the Fetzer/Wood cabal have a point, after all? ;-)

No apologies for 'single-track' postings but why not contrast this event with present day Gaza or any other place our tax dollars/pounds/euros and apathy are causing mass misery and deaths?

If they get spotted testing weapons in the ocean they do it underground.
Cant see why this is viewed as extraordinary?
What is extraordinary is if they are developing the technology to do this to countries they oppose like the Earthquake in Iran a Xmas or two ago in the city of Bam.
If explosions have been going off and people have heard them flyers should be circulated to the local town to get them to ask questions as to what these are about and whether any testing of nuclear fallout can be measured by the local university or someone like that?
Whos the MP for the area? They should be e-mailed as to what is going on.
This is getting beyond a joke.

Well at least that's something to be thankful for i suppose.

Mysterious 'lightning' spotted as 'quake hit Louth
Did you spot any lightning during the Lincolnshire earthquake? Email us and tell us what you saw....
Elvira Witney saw ball lightning in her Westgate home. Photo: Ian Holmes.
By Sean Topham
MYSTERIOUS types of lightning were seen by people in Louth during Wednesday's earthquake.
A woman in Westgate said she saw what she thought was ball lightning as the earthquake rumbled through Louth.
Elvira Witney said: "I experienced it at the exact time of the earthquake."
"This thing seemed to be coming across the room straight at me. I was very frightened."
Mrs Witney described it as a grapefruit-sized glowing sphere that went out like a light.
She saw it in her ground floor bedroom as she felt the earthquake but there was no damage to show where it had come from.
Ball lightning expert Dr Graham Hubler, of the United States Naval Research Laboratory, told us: "There have been reports of ball lightning associated with earth quakes. She probably saw ball lightning."
He said: "In some areas there are minerals in the earth that are piezoelectric. When the pressure is relieved the minerals can attain very high voltage that could act similar to lightning and create ball lightning."
He said there are not many reports of it passing through windows so he does not know how firm this observation is.
A second lightning sighting came from Jean Howard, of Tathwell, a curator at Louth Museum.
Mrs Howard said she saw a flash of lightning over the Wolds as the earthquake hit.
She said: "My initial thought as I'd just woken was that what I was hearing could be a thunder storm.
"As the rumbling and shaking continued I was quite aware it was an earthquake."
Mrs Howard could have seen a phenomenon known as Earthquake Light.
For centuries people have reported seeing flashes of light in the sky during earthquakes but these were not taken seriously until the 1960s when they were photographed in Japan.
The Lincolnshire earthquake happened just before 1am on Wednesday morning and measured 5.2 on the Richter Scale.
Scientists said its epicentre was near Market Rasen.

I felt it in London. I have felt several such earthquakes in Britain since the first I remember around 1957. They do occur naturally so I'm not jumping to the conclusion this one was artificially induced.

it woke me up. my flat in manchester shook for a good 5-6 seconds.. kind of sudden jolt followed by a slow wobble.
interesting stuff all this. strange it should effect such a wide area. apparently its been felt as far as germany!
