However, Gauge perpetuates the myth that the famous photo of fire fighters standing in front of a steel column with an angled cut is evidence of thermite being used to cut columns prior to the collapse of the towers. It is not. The date when this photo was taken has not been established and so it could have been taken weeks after 9/11 during the clean-up. The fact that fire fighters were there at the time does not imply it was taken shortly afterwards because there are photos showing fire fighters at Ground Zero in October:

In fact, a photo of a worker cutting a column at an angle through the aluminium cladding is available:

demonstrates that oxygen cutters were used to cut up the steel. The famous photo of an angle-cut column merely shows the result of such a column cut by an oxygen cutter. EXACTLY THE SAME SLAG IS CREATED. So it does not indicate thermite was used to cut it. Indeed, the blogger provides photos of many columns stored in Hangar 17 at Kennedy Airport showing angled cuts:

Moreover, the 'pools of molten metal' reported by some fire fighters could (in some cases at least) have been simply due to molten metal from the cutting of columns in the clean-up after 9/11 running down into holes, there to collect into large pools. Did 9/11 truthers misinterpret these pools as having been created by whatever energetic source caused or helped the towers to collapse? Maybe it cannot explain all the anecdotal reports of pools, but it could account for some of them, especially if the cutting of remaining upright columns lasted for some weeks, in which case pools could have been created continuously during this time, accounting for hot spots. Enough anyway to require far more caution in assessing such reports than has been demonstrated by many 9/11 truthers eager to find evidence of thermite/thermate.

The way to clarify the above questions of how the pools of molten metal were created is to find out at what point in time the firemen are referring to when they talk of the molten metal "running down the channel rails".

Indeed, what are the "channel rails" they are referring to?I've never really understood what they mean. Or where these channel rails are. We know they say "down below" but where exactly below?

Do they see the molten metal before or after the "collapses"? Would the collapses themselves have destroyed these channel rails or made them impossible to access?

The very fact that firemen are quoted as reporting on the molten metal would suggest that it would have been fairly close to the day itself,if we remember that they are emergency workers, would they have been required in large numbers during the clean up?

Moreover, they compare it to being "like a foundry" and "like a volcano". Would this effect have been caused due to the sporadic cutting of beams with enough time for it to cool down in between cutting.

Remember the temperatures were constant for weeks after the attacks. Which would suggest a presence of fuel or something aiding the continuous temperatures.
