'THE TRUTH ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE'

A presentation by PETER TAYLOR

Tuesday 22 April 2008, All Saints Centre, Friars Walk, Lewes, East Sussex, 7.45pm

Admission £5. Tickets are ONLY available at the door (no pre-booking).

Peter Taylor, with over thirty years of experience as an environmental advisor to governments, the EU and the UN, presents evidence which challenges many of the currently accepted views on the causes of climate change, and considers the under-represented role of natural solar cycles.
Instead of entering a period of global warming, we may actually be looking at global cooling. Is a disproportionate international focus on man-made global warming holding back other areas of important climate research..?

I'm hoping to be able to attend this to represent an oposite view.

Martin, I'm finding it impossible to find anything about Peter Taylor on the internet, could you present any links to his background and work for us?

That's really interesting as it was a good link and worked for me yesterday!

Martin

Stefan... Andy has worked with Peter before and knows much more about him than myself, as has Ian Crane. I'll leave it to someone else to post the best links.

I wonder if the reality might be that of some places getting colder (eg cooling of the Gulf Stream) and other places getting hotter (eg Saharan desertification spreadining into S. Europe?)

This was an excellent evening and even the pro-global warming element of the audience couldn't fault his conclusions.

In Peters opinion (and the global temperature backs him up) - we are entering a period of global cooling, which is far more dangerous than warming, as food will become scarce! In fact we are already seeing evidence of this. As I write this America has introduced food rationing in it's Walmart (and other) stores. So far the products rationed are flour, rice and vegetable oil.

I would advise anyone who has a bit of space in their garden to grow as much food as possible. Now is the time to plant vegetables.

Peters Research can be found here: http://ethos-uk.com/downloads.html

Evidence of global food shortages can be found here:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2007/aug/31/climatechange.food

A point of urgency is immediately STOPPING the use of fertile land to grow bio-fules. This is exacerbating the problem. Another thing we can do to help is to go vegetarian. http://www.timetogoveggie.com/ttgv/saveworld.html

I attended this talk and it was excellent. He showed us that there are many factors that affect climate change: solar wind, sunspot cycle, variations in the earth's magnetic field, cloud cover etc and showed evidence that CO2 was a relatively minor factor. In any case, when you look at the graphs which compare mean global temperature to CO2 content, the CO2 increases after the earth has warmed and reduces after it has cooled, which suggests the warming or cooling affects the CO2 content rather than the other way round.

The earth goes through periods of warming and cooling in various rhythms. It was steadily warming until 2006 but in 2007 there was a considerable drop in global mean temperature: 0.6 deg C.

Computer projections project rather than forecast. In other words they say" if the current trend continues, such-and-such will happen". Current trends do not always continue but frequently fluctuate. Compuer models that the current warming consensus is based on, have not been programmed to take account of the natural rhythms of the earth.

Peter Cedrowen Taylor gave me the following website: www.ethos-uk.com

Also e-mail addresses which I won't put on the forum.
