A Massive Rehearsal for a US Coup?

Franklin's Focus 4/20/08 - I have in the past reported and described at least three clandestine, massive practice roundups by the FBI. A fourth such roundup involving a broad spectrum of military, federal, and state agents has now been unleashed. I am appending an article concerning the formulation of secret plans for what seemingly was to be a rehearsal for a national coup d'etat.

As the first of the two articles notes, the plans were made in extreme secrecy and were shrouded from even high ranking US senators.

I have also appended a second article that describes the actual unleashing of an obvious rehearsal for a coup d'etat. If you think I'm exaggerating, please pause to reflect on what is involved here. Bush can and would declare national martial law and use both the National Guard and FBI to enforce it. He would also surely suspend the Constitution and Bill of Rights. All the tools are in place.

He has built huge concentration camps across the country under the absurd pretext they are for flu victims. He has built a huge number of boxcars equipped with shackles. The camps are currently being manned by Blackwater neofascists and are on a 24-hour notice to receive prisoners. The camps and boxcars cannot be approached by reporters or photographers because all roads to them are blockaded by Blackwater troops. The airspace over these locations have been named as prohibited airspace to all overhead air traffic so that no aerial films can be taken.

Article two describes the biggest practice imposition of martial law since a past series of four raids were unleashed.

THESE RAIDS ARE FRIGHTENING

Added to these profoundly ominous sweeps by the FBI and others is the still hanging-in-the air theft of a nuke plus a missile to carry it. They have never been recovered. It is perfectly rational to be deeply concerned about those missing weapons and the possibility they might be used for a second 9/11. Cheney has been pushing with all his might to launch a second 9/11. Has he finally had his way? If not, why the practice maneuvers for a coup?

Bush has been given the de facto power to suspend the Constitution during another 9/11. He also has been given a de facto power to declare martial law in case of another 9/11. He has built concentration camps. He has prepared freight trains meant to transport huge numbers of prisoners to a chain of 'secret' concentration camps.

If you are not worried about those developments, I commend you for owning nerves of steel - that is unless they are the result of some form of psychotic disconnect from the emergent neofascist Amerika that has been created before our very eyes.

I CANNOT IMAGINE A MORE DANGEROUS SITUATION THAN THE ONE WE ARE APPARENTLY FACING TODAY.

The failure to impeach, try, and imprison the whole Peenack pack of neofascists has brought us to this perilous situation. Nancy Pelosi has sworn there will be no impeachment on her watch. What just might take place on her watch, however, could be the death throes of our alleged American democracy. Up until now, it has been a deeply flawed, corporate controlled facsimile of a democracy, but it now appears possible that even our fake democracy might fall by the way.

The question that incessantly spins around in my brain is how do Americans manage to look the other way in the face of an ongoing authoritarian mutation that is now just one tiny step away from a brutal coup de grace.

My sense is that every single Focus I write from now on could be the last one I'll type. I cannot force myself to discount such visible symptoms of an ongoing neofascist takeover of this country. Oh yes, I surely am numbered among those who are labeled as 'conspiracy nuts'. Well, dear friends, I see those who ignore every single stone that has been laid in the construction of an authoritarian state as not 'nutcases', but as damned fools. I can no longer summon the strength to fake even a minimally tolerant consideration of their mindless parroting of patriotic gibberish.

Monday, July 23, 2007 - President Bush's post-terror attack martial law plan is so shocking that even sitting members of Congress and Homeland Security officials are barred from viewing it, another example of executive über alles and a chilling portent of what is to come as constant reminders of the inevitability of terror attacks reverberate.

Congressman Peter DeFazio (D - OR) was asked by his constituents to see what was contained within the classified portion of the White House's plan for operating the government after a terrorist attack.

Since DeFazio also sits on the Homeland Security Committee and has clearance to view classified material, the request would have appeared to be routine, but the Congressman was unceremoniously denied all access to view the documents, and the White House wouldn't even give an excuse as to why he was barred.

"I just can't believe they're going to deny a member of Congress the right of reviewing how they plan to conduct the government of the United States after a significant terrorist attack," DeFazio told the Oregonian on Friday.

"We're talking about the continuity of the government of the United States of America," DeFazio says. "I would think that would be relevant to any member of Congress, let alone a member of the Homeland Security Committee."

"MAYBE THE PEOPLE WHO THINK THERE'S A CONSPIRACY OUT THERE ARE RIGHT," DEFAZIO CONCLUDED.

The article also quotes Norm Ornstein, a legal scholar who studies government continuity at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, who told the paper he "cannot think of one good reason" to deny access to a member of Congress who serves on the Homeland Security Committee.

"I find it inexplicable and probably reflective of the usual, knee-jerk overextension of executive power that we see from this White House," Ornstein said.

The only plausible reason DeFazio was barred access to the documents is that the plans for a post-terror attack continuity of government scenario are so abhorrent that to reveal their true nature would cause a public outcry and lead to a major repeal of what is contained in the documents.

What we already know about Bush's recent spate of executive orders, and in particular PDD 51, is bad enough - the provisions outline preparations for the implementation of open martial law in the event of a declared national emergency.

ENSURING TOTAL UNPRECEDENTED DICTATORIAL POWER

New legislation signed on May 9, 2007, declares that in the event of a "catastrophic event", the President can take total control over the government and the country, bypassing all other levels of government at the state, federal, local, territorial and tribal levels, and thus ensuring total unprecedented dictatorial power.

It is important to understand that, although these powers have been on the books for previous presidents, Bush is the first to openly brag of the fact that he will utilize them and officially become the supreme emperor of the United States in the aftermath of a catastrophe that the government itself has said will happen on innumerable occasions.

POWERS USUALLY ASSUMED BY DICTATORS

According to columnist and author Jerome Corsi, the power grab assures that "The president can declare to the office of the presidency powers usually assumed by dictators to direct any and all government and business activities until the emergency is declared over."

Also in May, it was reported that a high-level group of government and military officials has been quietly preparing an emergency survival program named "The Day After," which would effectively end civil liberties and implement a system of martial law in the event of a catastrophic attack on a U.S. city.

Last year we also exposed the existence of a nationwide FEMA program which is training Pastors and other religious representatives to become secret police enforcers who teach their congregations to "obey the government" in preparation for a declaration of martial law, property and firearm seizures, and forced relocation.

The documents that Congressman DeFazio was blocked from seeing likely interlock with both these programs and detail the overarching agenda to effectively nullify what's left of the U.S. Constitution and firmly ensconce George W. Bush as a supreme dictator.

Only by putting enough pressure on the media and in turn the White House to be transparent about what the secret martial law provisions are can we lead an effort to repeal them before the next terror attack, whether real or manufactured, takes place.'' [and end]

Federal law enforcement agencies co-opted sheriffs offices as well state and local police forces in three states last weekend for a vast round up operation that one sheriff's deputy has described as "martial law training". Law-enforcement agencies in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas took part in what was described by local media as "an anti-crime and anti-terrorism initiative" involving officers from more than 50 federal, state and local agencies. Given the military style name "Operation Sudden Impact", the initiative saw officers from six counties rounding up fugitives, conducting traffic checkpoints, climbing on boats on the Mississippi River and doing other "crime-abatement" programs all under the label of "anti-terrorism".

WREG Memphis news channel 3 reported that the Sheriff's Department arrested 332 people, 142 of whom were fugitives, or "terrorists" as they now seem to be known. Hundreds of dollars were seized and drugs recovered, and 1,292 traffic violations were handed out to speeding terrorists and illegally parked terrorists. The authorities even raided businesses and store owners, confiscating computers and paperwork in an effort to "track down possible terrorists before something big happens".

THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT IS DETERMINING IF AND WHEN THEY PLAN ANOTHER ROUND-UP.

The operation, which involved police, deputies, the FBI, drug agents, gang units and even the coast guard, is just one example of how law enforcement at the state and local levels is being co-opted and centralized by the Department of Homeland Security via massive federal grants. It also highlights how the distinction between crime and terrorism is becoming irrelevant. An Infowars reader called in to the Alex Jones show yesterday to alert us to the story and explain that he had gleaned the information from his friend, a sheriff's deputy in Memphis, who had described the operation as "training for martial law in America".

FORGET INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY, YOU ARE NOW A TERRORIST SUSPECT UNTIL YOU ARE TOLD OTHERWISE.

It is now the norm to consider everybody equally likely to be guilty of something than innocent. This is proactive policing, not preventative or reactive policing, and is widely indicative of a society that is NOT free. This form of proactive policing is a phenomena indicative of a once free state rapidly declining into a authoritarian police state. If there was a real terror threat in these states, it would surely make sense for law enforcement agencies to target known trouble areas, and follow up on already existing leads. Instead we are seeing local police and the coast guard being recruited to randomly target anyone in any area as possible terrorists.

SURELY IF THERE WAS A REAL TERROR THREAT, THIS ACTIVITY WOULD HARM THE EFFORT TO COMBAT IT.

Of course, such activity is clearly not related to a real and tangible terror threat, it is related to the ongoing effort to vastly increase the size and scope of the federal government and increase the power it has over American citizens. The information and intelligence from the operation will be collated and routed through federally funded state-run fusion centers, which are working in conjunction with the military arm of the DHS, NORTHCOM. Such information will soon include the DNA and other biometric information from every person arrested, which DHS head Michael Chertoff has declared is no longer your personal information.

We recently reported on the fact that after 9/11 the Justice Department advised the Bush administration that it was able to effectively suspend the Fourth Amendment where domestic counter terrorism operations are concerned. In light of this, and given that the government has begun to class any crime as terrorism and set local and state police to work on "anti-terror" operations, it is clear that the protections provided by the Bill of Rights and the Constitution are under direct threat.

We have seen how new provisions will effectively nullify the U.S. constitution, and a recent spate of executive orders, in particular PDD 51, outline preparations for the implementation of open martial law in the event of a declared national emergency.

Centralized and federally coordinated law enforcement programs complement nationwide FEMA programs to train Pastors and other religious representatives to become secret police enforcers who teach their congregations to "obey the government" in preparation for the implementation of martial law, property and firearm seizures, mass vaccination programs and forced relocation. The effects of this particular program have already been witnessed.
