Czech President Challenges Al Gore to a Global Warming Debate.....Al Gore Remains Silent

Czech President Vaclav Klaus, a global warming sceptic, is ready and willing to debate Al Gore one on one on the issue of the global warming scam. Al Gore will not respond to this challenge. It is nothing out of the ordinary for Al Gore to debate the "facts" of climate change, he has been challenged before and refuses to do so.

Surely a politician cannot be afraid of debating. Unless he knows that he is full of * and is afraid to expose himself. After all we have recently learned that he used fictional scenes from the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" in his documentary and claimed they were further signs of man-made global warming. Perhaps this is why he is unwilling to debate.

Klaus is promoting his own book entitled "Blue Planet in Green Shackles - What Is Endangered: Climate or Freedom?" What a great title, and it underscores the exact point that I have been making here for over a year. That point is, I am going to write it again, I am sorry for the repetition, that global warming is a scam designed to take our money and our freedoms in the guise of saving the planet. And it just so happens to make Al Gore, the father of the movement, rich as well. What a coincidence, huh?

Vaclav Klaus makes no bones about what he thinks the answer to the question in his book title is when he says, "My answer is it is our freedom and, I might add, and our prosperity." Isn't that the truth?

He goes on to compare the global warming movement to communism, something he knows a little about:

Klaus, an economist, said he opposed the "climate alarmism" perpetuated by environmentalism trying to impose their ideals, comparing it to the decades of communist rule he experienced growing up in Soviet-dominated Czechoslovakia.

He goes on:

"Like their (communist) predecessors, they will be certain that they have the right to sacrifice man and his freedom to make their idea reality," he said.

"In the past, it was in the name of the Marxists or of the proletariat - this time, in the name of the planet," he added.

These are some of the most scathing remarks that I have seen in this debate, (even if Al Gore refuses to debate), and it feels good to finally hear somebody stand up and make some of the same accusations that I have been writing about.

He goes on to make another of my points, and that is the fact that the scientists, environmentalists, and the meteorologists who tout this issue all have a financial stake in promoting it.

"It could be even true that we are now at a stage where mere facts, reason and truths are powerless in the face of the global warming propaganda," he said.

Klaus alleged that the global warming was being championed by scientists and other environmentalists whose careers and funding requires selling the public on global warming.

"It is in the hands of climatologists and other related scientists who are highly motivated to look in one direction only," Klaus said.

Klaus is out there challenging Al Gore, yet Al Gore remains silent. If Al Gore really wanted to champion his "cause" shouldn't he take the stage and make his case to the whole world? I think so, but he is afraid because he knows the truth, he knows he will be exposed as a fraud and he is unwilling to stand up for what he wants us to believe in.

good news
ofcourse the downside is this is the same guy who wants to put the US missile bases in his country opposed by most of his public some of who are on hunger strike at the moment and there have been mass demonstrations.
Vaclav Klaus maybe right on the global warming scam but he is also rumoured to have secret CIA prisons. So is a US puppet.

Why Did 32,000 Scientists Sign a Petition Dissenting From Global-Warming Consensus?

At a press conference on May 19, Dr. Arthur Robinson announced the release of the names of 32,000 scientists who have signed a strongly worded petition dissenting from the position taken by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and other scientific organizations.

Signers include more than 9,000 Ph.Ds, although only a relatively small percentage of the signers are climate scientists.

Most signatures were obtained by mailing to lists of university professors and a compendium that constitutes a “Who’s Who” of American scientists.

The debate over global warming is very similar to the propaganda machine started by tobacco giant Philip Morris in 1992, as they went to work on discrediting an EPA report attributing dangerous health problems to smoking. That was when the term “junk science” became part of the lexicon.

To smoking advocates, junk science referred to scientific, peer-reviewed studies linking smoking to cancer, whereas "sound science" meant studies supporting the tobacco industry's claims that the link was inconclusive, principles soon used by global warming advocates to blur the debate in a similar fashion.

Are We Focusing on the Real Issues at Hand?

Personally, I think it’s quite clear that global warming is a natural cyclic occurrence that is not solely created by man. To ignore these cycles and focus exclusively on data that supports global warming as a man-made phenomenon doesn’t solve the problems associated with global warming, but it does create brand new financial and political platforms.

However, that does NOT mean I’m for continuing polluting the world as we are today.

Naturally, we would all be healthier with less pollution and environmental toxins of all kinds. But these are things we need to address because they are health hazards in and of themselves, not necessarily because they’re heating up the planet and must be strictly controlled and enforced by some small empirical ruling group who will make the decisions to save us from ourselves.

I believe in more self-responsibility by individual citizens, and better, cleaner, safer alternatives. Not just more governmental taxes and fines while letting business go on as usual and ignoring real health-benefiting solutions.

The issue of global warming is indeed a hot topic – just reading through the unusually prolific and fervent opinions in the Vital Votes comment section below will give you a taste for how divided people are on this issue.

Opinions, and “supporting evidence” abounds; covering the entire spectrum from ‘man had nothing to do with it and therefore we need to do nothing to clean up our atmosphere,’ to ‘man is solely responsible, and we have to take severe and drastic measures to stop its progression.’ There are studies that purportedly support both sides of the argument, with each side saying that “the debate is over.” But as Lawrence Solomon said in the Financial Post, “How many scientists does it take to establish that a consensus does not exist on global warming?”

Does the Sun Influence Climate on Earth?

There are clear correlations between the ebb and flow of sunspots and the temperature here on earth. When the frequency of sunspots rises, earth’s temperature rises as well. When they disappear, the earth cools. During the Maunder Minimum, a 50-year period when the sun was uncommonly quiet, the earth fell into what’s referred to as The Little Ice Age.

Right now, we’re heading into a big sunspot cycle. It started in January 2008, with the onset of a reversed-polarity sunspot. So, in the next several years, we’re likely to experience many record high summer temperatures, and warmer than normal winters. The glaciers will continue retreating.

And then, when solar cycle 25 hits ten to twelve years later, the overheating will subside, and we may even experience a minor ice age.

Who Does the Idea of Man-Made Global Warming Benefit?

I haven’t taken a stance on why, exactly, political global warming activists are doing what they’re doing. But I’m not ruling out the possibility that there are vast financial gains involved that will be made even though it won’t change the inevitability of the natural occurrence of global warming, which will be followed by a natural global cool-down.

One of the dangers, as I see it, is that by being distracted by fear mongers, we might not focus on the real issues at hand: securing safe and healthy foods to eat; ensuring safe water supplies; figuring out alternative, non-polluting sources of energy as oil becomes a scarce commodity and poor air quality is choking many parts of the world literally to death.

And, fixing the fatally flawed health care system in the United States, which will only get worse as the climate changes, regardless of what or who’s at fault.

On May 29th, the Associated Press announced that the White House had finally produced their U.S. global warming report, under court order, after refusing to release it for four years. This 271-page report includes predictions of increased smog-induced deaths, water shortages across the United States, a need for billions of dollars in more power plants, increased food- and waterborne diseases, and last but not least, a disproportionate disparity between the poor, the elderly, and the uninsured, compared to those who can afford healthcare insurance.

These are the issues we need to focus on changing.

We can’t do anything about the inner workings of the sun, but we can work toward creating a cleaner and healthier environment for all, and you can work on creating optimal health for yourself and your family, and make the necessary preparations for surviving and staying safe in these changing times.

Exactly! It will be deemed "unsafe" because of the tanks of compressed air even if they are perfectly safe. The story of the suppression of the growing of hemp perfectly illustrates how we are all buggered by big business and this type of development will be another example.

good one!

TATA famously bought up Jaguar and Land Rover and British Steel.
They also make the £1200 city car.

i fully expect to see compressed air vehicles all over India soon

By the way, some fork lift trucks run on compressed air already?

Poll: most Britons doubt cause of climate change
Poll: most Britons are not as stupid as you thought

* Juliette Jowit, environment editor
* The Observer,
* Sunday June 22, 2008

The majority of the British public is still not convinced that climate change is caused by humans - and many others believe scientists are exaggerating the problem, according to an exclusive poll for The Observer.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/jun/22/climatechange.carbon emissions

The results have shocked campaigners who hoped that doubts would have been silenced by a report last year by more than 2,500 scientists for the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which found a 90 per cent chance that humans were the main cause of climate change and warned that drastic action was needed to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

The findings come just before the release of the government's long-awaited renewable energy strategy, which aims to cut the UK's greenhouse gas emissions by 20 per cent over the next 12 years.

The poll, by Ipsos MORI, found widespread contradictions, with some people saying politicians were not doing enough to tackle the problem, even though they were cynical about government attempts to impose regulations or raise taxes. In a sign of the enormous task ahead for those pushing for drastic cuts to carbon emissions, many people said they did not want to restrict their lifestyles and only a small minority believe they need to make 'significant and radical' changes such as driving and flying less.

'It's disappointing and the government will be really worried,' said Jonathon Porritt, chairman of the government's Sustainable Development Commission. 'They [politicians] need the context in which they're developing new policies to be a lot stronger and more positive. Otherwise the potential for backlash and unpopularity is considerable.'

There is growing concern that an economic depression and rising fuel and food prices are denting public interest in environmental issues. Some environmentalists blame the public's doubts on last year's Channel 4 documentary The Great Global Warming Swindle, and on recent books, including one by Lord Lawson, the former Chancellor, that question the consensus on climate change.

However Professor Bjorn Lomborg, author of The Skeptical Environmentalist, said politicians and campaigners were to blame for over-simplifying the problem by only publicising evidence to support the case. 'Things that we do know - like humans do cause climate change - are being put in doubt,' said Lomborg. 'If you're saying, "We're not going to tell you the whole truth, but we're going to ask you to pay up a lot of money," people are going to be unsure.'

In response to the poll's findings, the Department for the Environment issued a statement: 'The IPCC... concluded the scientific evidence for climate change is clear and it is down to human activities. It is already affecting people's lives - and the impact will be much greater if we don't act now.'

Ipsos MORI polled 1,039 adults and found that six out of 10 agreed that 'many scientific experts still question if humans are contributing to climate change', and that four out of 10 'sometimes think climate change might not be as bad as people say'. In both cases, another 20 per cent were not convinced either way. Despite this, three quarters still professed to be concerned about climate change.

Those most worried were more likely to have a degree, be in social classes A or B, have a higher income, said Phil Downing, Ipsos MORI's head of environmental research.

'People are broadly concerned, but not entirely convinced,' said Downing. 'Despite many attempts to broaden the environment movement, it doesn't seem to have become fully embedded as a mainstream concern,' he said.

More than half of those polled did not have confidence in international or British political leaders to tackle climate change, but only just over a quarter think it's too late to stop it. Two thirds want the government to do more but nearly as many said they were cynical about government policies such as green taxes, which they see as 'stealth' taxes.

Quote:
Two Peer-Reviewed Scientific Papers Debunk CO2 Myth

Global warming consensus takes another battering
Paul Joseph Watson, Prison Planet, Wednesday, July 16, 2008

Three top scientists have once again contradicted the claim that a “consensus” exists about man-made global warming with research that indicates CO2 emissions actually cool the atmosphere, in addition to another peer-reviewed paper that documents how the IPCC overstated CO2’s effect on temperature by as much as 2000 per cent.

Professor George Chilingar and Leonid Khilyuk of the University of Southern California, and Oleg Sorokhtin of the Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences have released a study that they claim completely contradicts the link between CO2 and global temperature increases.

“The writers investigated the effect of CO2 emission on the temperature of atmosphere. Computations based on the adiabatic theory of greenhouse effect show that increasing CO2 concentration in the atmosphere results in cooling rather than warming of the Earth’s atmosphere,” states the preamble to the paper.

The full study, which appears in the Energy Sources journal, is sure to cause ire amongst climate cult adherants.

No global warming has been observed for the past 10 years as temperatures have gradually declined and studies indicate that there will be no further warming for the next 10 years.

In a related development, the peer-reviewed Physics and Society journal has published evidence proving that the UN IPCC’s 2007 climate summary “overstated CO2’s impact on temperature by 500-2000%.”

According to the paper, “Computer models used by the UN’s climate panel (IPCC) were pre-programmed with overstated values for the three variables whose product is “climate sensitivity” (temperature increase in response to greenhouse-gas increase), resulting in a 500-2000% overstatement of CO2’s effect on temperature in the IPCC’s latest climate assessment report, published in 2007.”

The paper also outlines evidence to confirm that Mars, Jupiter, Neptune’s largest moon, and Pluto warmed at the same time as Earth warmed, a factor attributed to the Sun having been more active than at almost any other time in the past 11,400 years.

The paper concludes, “CO2 enrichment will add little more than 1 °F (0.6 °C) to global mean surface temperature by 2100.”

Climate documentary 'broke rules'

Quote:
The Great Global Warming Swindle, a controversial Channel 4 film, broke Ofcom rules, the media regulator says.

In a long-awaited judgement, Ofcom says Channel 4 did not fulfil obligations to be impartial and to reflect a range of views on controversial issues.
The film also treated interviewees unfairly, but did not mislead audiences "so as to cause harm or offence".
Plaintiffs say the Ofcom judgement is "inconsistent" and "lets Channel 4 off the hook on a technicality."

The film's key contentions were that the increase in atmospheric temperatures observed since the 1970s was not primarily caused by emissions of greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuels, and that the modern focus on climate change is based in politics rather than science.
It is seen in some "climate sceptic" circles as a counter to Al Gore's movie An Inconvenient Truth, and credited with influencing public perception of climate science. It has reportedly been sold to 21 countries and distributed on DVD.

High definition

"It's very disappointing that Ofcom hasn't come up with a stronger statement about being misled," said Sir John Houghton, a former head of the UK Met Office and chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) scientific assessment.
"I know hundreds of people, literally hundreds, who were misled by it - they saw it, it was a well-produced programme and they imagined it had some truth behind it, so they were misled and it seems Ofcom didn't care about that," he told BBC News.

Ofcom defines a misleading programme as one by which the audience is "materially misled so as to cause harm or offence", and that Swindle does not meet this "high test".
"The programme has been let off the hook on a highly questionable technicality," said Bob Ward, former head of media at the Royal Society, who played a prominent role in co-ordinating objections to the film.
"The ruling noted that Channel 4 had admitted errors in the graphs and data used in the programme, yet decided that this did not cause harm or offence to the audience."
Plaintiffs accused the programme of containing myriad factual inaccuracies, but Ofcom says it was "impractical and inappropriate for it to examine in detail all of the multifarious alleged examples... set out in the complaints."
The regulator also says it is only obliged to see that news programmes meet "due accuracy".

'No balance'

The broadcaster argued that the judgement vindicated its decision to showcase the documentary.
"Ofcom's ruling explicitly recognises Channel 4's right to show the programme and the paramount importance of broadcasters being able to challenge orthodoxies and explore controversial subject matter," said Hamish Mykura, the station's head of documentaries.
"This is particularly relevant to Channel 4 with its public remit and commitment to giving airtime to alternative perspectives."

On another issue - whether contributors to the programme had been treated fairly - Ofcom mainly found against Channel 4 and the film's producer WagTV.
Former UK chief scientific adviser Sir David King had been misquoted and had not been given a chance to put his case, the regulator said.
Ofcom also found in favour of Carl Wunsch, an oceanographer interviewed for the programme, who said he had been invited to take part in a programme that would "discuss in a balanced way the complicated elements of understanding of climate change", but had turned out to be "an out-and-out propaganda piece, in which there is not even a gesture toward balance".
The film alleged that the IPCC's scientific reports were driven by politics rather than science, and Ofcom ruled the organisation had not been given adequate time to respond.
"I think this is a vindication of the credibility and standing of the IPCC and the manner in which we function, and clearly brings out the distortion in whatever Channel 4 was trying to project," said Rajendra Pachauri, the organisation's chairman.

Science 'settled'

The Broadcasting Code requires Channel 4 to show "due impartiality" on "matters of major political and industrial controversy and major matters relating to current public policy".
The last segment of the programme, dealing with the politics of climate change, broke this obligation, Ofcom judged, and did not reflect a range of views, as required under the code.
But the main portion of the film, on climate science, did not breach these rules.
Ofcom's logic is that "the link between human activity and global warming... became settled before March 2007".
This being so, it says, climate science was not "controversial" at the time of broadcast, so Channel 4 did not break regulations by broadcasting something that challenged the link.
"That's a very big inconsistency," said Sir John Houghton. "They said it's completely settled, so why worry - so they can just broadcast any old rubbish."
While some of the 265 complaints received by Ofcom were short and straightforward, one group assembled a 176-page document alleging 137 breaches of the Broadcasting Code.
Channel 4 will have to broadcast a summary of the Ofcom ruling, but it brings no sanctions.

So the US government lied. What does that have to do with climate change? Nothing, so stop mixing up the issues.

I suggest that if you wish to point the finger and shout conspiracy that you check out Martin Durkin's previous documentaries and his links with the Revolutionary Communist Party. I take it you agree with his views that silicon implants are good for you or that there's nothing wrong with GM food?

Right on, Karlos. Vaclav Klaus is of the extreme-right and supports monetarist, neo-liberal policies. He is to the right of Genghis Khan. I don't know if he was a Stalinist apparatchik in the old Soviet-backed Czechoslovakia or of a different right-wing stable. Anyway, I believe you are spot on when you describe him as a US puppet.

Nothing this dreadful man says should be believed. He is dangerous.

Of course not since I wouldn't have made the point would I!

The fact is you are happy to agree with someone who suits your agenda regardless of the fact the each and every time they have shown to employ the poorest of scientific arguments. In other words, you are happy to be fooled by remaining dumb but then claim to know all about how the PTB operate and are controlling our lives.

I don't have an "agenda". I have opinions based on evidence and am aware of the massive scams and lies we are fed, and believe that global warming/cooling is yet another. There are thousands of scientists who refute the claims of man made global warming and the "poor arguments" lie entirely in the realm of the "man made global warmers". It is another control mechanism to tax us and control, and their case is as silly as the fairy tale they say happened on 9/11. You have to be very dumb to fall for it.

I suspect those such as Blackcat will keep denying the obvious even while their feet begin to burn from the heat (metaphorically speaking, of course)! Very Happy

Meantime Blackcat, check the links I provided above.

Ah but will my feet be burning or freezing depending on which scam you want me to embrace?? Smile

How about you check some other links that refute the man made global warming scam? Try this http://www.nw0.info/?p=Radio/Alex%20Jones%20Radio%20Archive/2008/July/ Alex Jones show 21st July (yesterday) where the author of "The Money Masters" video was his guest. The Central Bankers control is so vast and so complete most people just cannot grasp it, and MMGW is just another facet of their odious war on humanity.

A brilliant and well thought out response. There can be no arguing with such an eloquent argument. By extension I take it "The Money Masters" is equally dire. I seem to remember you are a fan of fractional reserve banking from a previous thread so - enough said. You are beyond hope. There are some who refuse to awaken.

As usual you twist my words - at least I'm bluntly honest. I didn't say I was a fan of fractional reserve banking. What I did say is that it has allowed unprecedented levels of spending which most people are quite happy with. You try telling someone who has a flash car, a nice home, take two holidays a year and eats well that they are a slave. They might be in debt but, like most people in the west, they will be OK with that and will actually be thankful that credit is available to them unlike in previous generations. Feel free to change the system but you'll probably be lynched by the general public rather than the banks. However, as the price of oil rises, the fractional reserve system will fail, bringing down most banks anyway.

I know as a 9/11 truther I'm supposed to lick Jones boots but I can't stand the man. He is a classic example of someone who puts 2 and 2 together and gets 5. He shouts too much too.

It will fail because it is designed to fail, and the price of oil is being engineered by the same people who are causing the failure. Indeed it is partly a symptom of the failure of the banking system. People's lifestyles in the west are not caused by Fractional reserve banking, but in spite of it. Now the Central Bankers are about to cash in and those people who have been having a decent lifestyle are about to be screwed royally. Alex Jones is too strident and does spout a load of * about some issues but on 9/11 and the Money Scam he is spot on. Anyone who remains unaware of the existence of a cabal of wealthy central bankers who own western governments is dreaming.

As an aside, the current order backlog of Boeing 737's stands at 1,800. New aircraft terminals are being built to handle the forecast increase in air travellers. Also, outrageously, many long-haul flights are flown empty just so's the airline can protect their landing slots! Does this sound like an industry that believes we are about to reach 'Peak Oil'? It would be naive to believe that the aircraft industry does not employ economic and political strategists, whose role is to ensure the appropriate business direction and protect shareholder interest.

Wake up blackcat.

Our life styles are as a result of the banking system which in turn requires economic growth which can only be brought about through the continued use of vast and ever increasing amounts of energy. Take growth and/or energy away and our materialistic lives will be lost forever and most banks will be gone.

Whatever your stance is Blackcat, could you please stop sounding like an obsolete teenager every time someone argues against you? It's getting rather tiresome!

I will state what I feel and if you disagree with it tough. Don't respond if you can't handle disagreement (which is what the "tiresome" retort about "obsolete teenager" really means). Ad hominem attack is always the resort of the low intellect.

Ah yes, Alex 'Jarhead' Jones doing his King Canute. I know this one by heart. As James succintly observes, Jones talks sh!te on this sounding just like a gate-keeper.

Have you read the links I gave you by now? Bet you haven't.

Interesting comment you make. Does this mean that you acknowledge he's not spot-on on Global Warming?

People love films like The Great Global Warming Swindle, because they tell us what we want to believe.

Ah, there is sanity out there. There may only be a handful of us but it's nice to read that others have similar views.

Thanks for the links isfahan.
