This book comes out next february. Author Mr Shenon is (or has been) with the New York Times. Not too sure what to think.

I am in the process of reading this book. Although my suspicions about Shenon are well founded, he does explain (a) the possibility of the NORAD being referred to the Justice Department and (b) the links between two of the hijackers and the Saudis in California. It also reveals some interesting light on Zelikow's behaviour between the Commission and the staff and his continued secrecy with the White House.

One of the staff, Alexis Albion, had a childhood fascination with espionage and had a special interest in James Bond, continues (word for word)....

Quote:
With her background in history and her appreciation of popular literature, her professors felt she was a natual choice to join the staff of the 9/11 Commission. If Philip Zelikow was serious about turning the Commission's final report into a work of popular history that the public would want to read and understand, there were few young historians better qualified than Albion to help. Thanks to Ian Fleming and John le Carre, she knew what a page turner was

Even some of the reviews of the report read like the review of a political thriller.

Shocked

A damning indictment of Zelikow as controller of the investigation.

I say it is worth a read.
