http://virus.org.ua/unix/keylog/klog.htm

"The reasons Dell would put this in thier laptops can only be left up to your imagination. It would be very impractical to hand-anylze the logs, and very CPU-intensive to do so on a computer for every person that purchased a dell laptop. Why are these keyloggers here? I recently almost found out.

I called the police, as having a keylogger unknown to me in my laptop is a serious offense. They told me to call the Department of Homeland Security. At this point, I am in disbelief. Why would the DHS have a keylogger in my laptop? It was surreal."

An interesting little peice. Hard to confirm one way or the other. Though it really wouldnt be that surprising at all if this were in fact the case.

Any techies got any ideas about this?

This story is almost certainly false.

The way the device is described in the article would make it difficult to interface to an ethernet port.

I think the story is a "plant" of some kind.

LOL Very Happy

Good man Andrew. That sorts that one out.

Now i can go back to watching Home and Away, safe in the knowledge that the Dell laptop i dont own isn't being backdoored viciously by some eager NSA techie. Smile
