In effect, Washington was claiming revenge as the motive for crimes that it had long been planning to commit. Precise causality for the specific events of 9/11 becomes near-irrelevant, submerged in the much larger aggression that was conceived long before the towers fell.

Martin Summers from www.911truthbristol.com delivers a seventh anniversary rant at midday on September 11th 2008 in Bristol City Centre.
Next to the famous statue of Edmund Burke, he expresses his and millions of others disbelief around the world in the 'official' version of events as promulgated by the mass media at the time. He rubbishes the story that the 9/11 attacks were masterminded by Osama bin Laden from a cave in Afghanistan as pure media spin. Martin points to the non-appearance of US Air Force NORAD air defences on 9/11 asking why the most sophisticated and expensive air defence system ever in the world failed to put in an appearance. He talks about the mysterious 'collapse' of World Trade Centre Building 7 which was not hit by a plane but collapsed just like the twin towers. He recounts testimony from William Rodriguez, a 9/11 lifesaving hero and janitor in the North Tower, who heard and saw evidence of explosions in the basement before the plane hit the building. Martin talks about Osama Bin Laden meeting the CIA in the American hospital in Dubai just before 9/11. A fact which was leaked to Le Figaro by the French Intelligence services. He calls for an independent police/criminal enquiry and full investigation which fearlessly considers the possibility of elements within the US government and military taking part in the attacks. He believes prosecutions resulting from such an enquiry will put an end to the so-called War on Terror which he sees as a crude excuse for greedy evil psychopaths to bomb kill and maim anywhere they wish, right across the planet.....
Afghanistan, Iraq, and now north Pakistan are all part of the Malabar Front (read 1984). This War on Terror will never end. Or, to be more precise, it will last exactly as long as the aggressive neoliberal/neocon attempt to grab resources and create new markets.
9/11 was designed to make all this possible. The attack on the Twin Towers was not perpetrated by guys who could barely fly a Cessna and who weren't even on the passenger lists!!
