The wrong story - 'conspiracy theories' or an investigation into the crime of the century?
Tony Gosling reported on IRA bomb attacks for BBC's Greater London Radio in the early 1990s - but his assessment of the London bombings of 7th July 2005, due to be screened in October, has been shelved.
In early September 2008 transmission of the BBC's first investigative documentary into the deadliest attack on Londoners since the Blitz, the 7/7 London Bombings, was cancelled. Contributors to the hour long Conspiracy Files film were told by producer Tristan Quinn that programme makers had failed to get police and security services to answer allegations ranging from serious incompetence to actual collusion in the attacks.
Contributors were informed in the same week as a much more widely reported announcement. That parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee report into Intelligence Services' foreknowledge in the run-up to 7/7 was also to be shelved, again 'for legal reasons'.
Inconsistencies with the official account of four lone suicide bombers centre around first hand proof of an anti-terror exercise taking place at the same locations the first three bombs exploded, also a warning issued to the Israeli Embassy by Scotland Yard and widely reported by AP and mainstream press outside the NATO zone.
At least six films are circulating on the internet which investigate some of the most serious holes in the official account of that day's events. Some of the filmmakers also attempt to fill those holes with their own speculation.
Ludicrous Diversion takes its title from Tony Blair's words dismissing survivors' calls for an enquiry. Produced anonymously, it appears to be made by TV professionals in their spare time and presents some of the central allegations.
Montreal, The Next Terror Target? was released earlier this year by one of the founder members of the Canadian Action Party. It looks into the 7/7 'drills' in depth and the background of the intelligence software services company, Verint Systems, chosen 10 months before 7/7 to take over security on the London Underground when it was privatised.
Investigative journalists, filmmakers, survivors and victims' families have come together with community groups such as the Campaign Against Criminalisation of Communities (CAMPACC) and the British Muslim leaders in a united call for an enquiry which has been consistently stonewalled by Blair, Brown and Cameron. In the absence of any enquiry it should be obvious that such an attack may well be repeated.
The Homefront is a film by a relative of one of the 7/7 victims. Director Thomas Ikimi makes the point that British courts look into even minor crimes 'so what is the problem on an inquiry into the worst terror attack in UK history?’ Other films: Mind The Gap, BT London Bombings and 7/7 Ripple Effect all raise further questions and inconsistencies in just about every aspect of that day's events.
The most disturbing aspect, by far, of the shelving of this documentary is that, in the absence of any enquiry, the conviction of Mohammad Sidique Khan, Shehzad Tanweer, Hasib Hussain and Germaine Lindsay for the 7/7 attack has been a 'trial by television'. In the interests of British journalism's professional reputation is about time the dead men's families, survivors and families of the victims had their right to reply.
The refusal of the British establishment to bite the 7/7 bullet may suit US, British and Israeli military objectives. But it may also fuel a domestic anti-Muslim hate campaign the likes of which we have not seen since the 1930s Jewish experience. _________________ www.lawyerscommitteefor9-11inquiry.org

7/7 was the greatest crime on UK soil, but I would contend that 9/11 was the crime of the century, followed, of course, by the two illegal invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq!!
Regarding the crime of 7/7, Peter Power has stated on the BBC 'Editors' blog that the exercise he was conducting was for a publishing company Reed Elsevier (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/theeditors/2008/06/controversy_and_conspira cies_2.html#commentsanchor ). Of course, this is assuming that this comment was posted by the real Peter Power.
But why would a publishing company wish to run a 'terrorist' exercise?? If they were worried about the effects of disruption for their staff coming to work, wouldn't one do a transport strike, or power failure, especially as no Islamic terrorist attack had occurred before. I think that Power needs to explain more, and failure to do so can only fuel reasonable speculation as to his involvement in this.
Most mysterious, as indeed is everything surrounding these so called 'terrorist attacks' |

If you look at their wiki page the company seems to be up to its neck in military matters.

It would not surprise me that if they were running a workshop on behalf of the MOD or other secret squirrel organizations. Generally those type of organizations do not like to book external rooms in their own names for obvious reasons. |

Yes, lots here.
Sir Crispin Davis - CEO, Reed Elsevier -
Knighted for services to the information industry. Excellent news. Then he should be able to provide us with a full explanation about Visor Consultants' 7/7 terror exercise with a flash of his toledo steel rapier.
Here's a protest against one of their arms fairs in the UK.

Lancet publishers condemned over promotion of arms - here
Crispin's outfit finally got the message and gave up doing arms fairs two years after 7/7.

Reed Elsevier is a global publisher and information provider. It came into being in autumn 1992 as the result of a merger between Reed International, a British trade book and magazine publisher, and the Dutch science publisher Elsevier NV,[1] forming the Reed Elsevier group, a dual-listed company consisting of Reed Elsevier PLC and Reed Elsevier NV.[2] It is listed on several of the world's major stock exchanges.[3]

[edit] History
[edit] Reed International
In 1894, Albert E. Reed established a newsprint manufacture at Tovil Mill near Maidstone, Kent. In 1903, Albert E Reed was registered as a public company. In 1970, the company name was changed to Reed International Limited. The company originally grew by merging with other publishers and produced high quality trade journals as IPC Business Press Ltd and women's and other consumer magazines as IPC magazines Ltd. For a time the company published The Daily Mirror. The original family owners the Reeds were Methodists and encouraged good working conditions for their staff in the then dangerous print trade. They became known also for paying their staff well, and avoiding casual labour practices. The company however in modern times took full advantage of changing attitudes in the 1980s and was associated in job cutting exercises throughout its magazine empire, following union de-recognition in the 1990s (union recognition has since been regained in several business units).
[edit] Elsevier NV
In 1880, Jacobus George Robbers started a publishing company called NV Uitgeversmaatschappij Elsevier (Elsevier Publishing Company NV) to publish literary classics and the encyclopedia Winkler Prins. Robbers named the company after the old Dutch printers family Elzevir, which, for example, published the works of Erasmus in 1587. Elsevier NV originally was based in Rotterdam but moved to Amsterdam in the late 1880s.
Up to the 1930s, Elsevier remained a small family-owned publisher, with no more than ten employees. After the war it launched the weekly Elseviers Weekblad, which turned out to be very profitable. A rapid expansion followed. Elsevier Press Inc. started in 1951 in Houston, Texas, and in 1962 publishing offices were opened in London and New York. Multiple mergers in the 1970s led to name changes, settling at Elsevier Scientific Publishers in 1979. Two years before the merger with Reed, Elsevier acquired Pergamon Press in the UK.
[edit] Operations
Reed Elsevier conducts its business through the following divisions:
* The science and medical publishing division is Elsevier.
* The legal publishing division is LexisNexis.
* The business division is Reed Business Information

In February 2007, Reed Elsevier announced its intention to sell Harcourt, its educational publishing division.[4] On 4th May 2007 Pearson, the international education and information company, announced that it had agreed to acquire Harcourt Assessment and Harcourt Education International from Reed Elsevier for $950m in cash.[5] In July 2007, Reed Elsevier announced its agreement to sell the remaining Harcourt Education business, including international imprint Heinemann, to Houghton Mifflin Riverdeep Group for $4b in cash and stock. [6]
[edit] Pricing issues
Main article: Elsevier#Criticism
Reed Elsevier has been criticised for the high prices of its journals and services, especially Elsevier and LexisNexis. Members of the scientific community have called for a boycott of Elsevier journals and a move to open access publications such as those of the Public Library of Science or BioMed Central.[7]
[edit] Defence Exhibitions
Members of the medical and scientific communities, which purchase and use many journals published by Reed Elsevier, agitated for the company to cut its links to the arms trade. Two UK academics, Dr. Tom Stafford of Sheffield University and Dr Nick Gill, launched petitions calling on Reed Elsevier to stop organising arms fairs. [8][9] A subsidiary, Spearhead, organised defence shows, including an event where it was reported that cluster bombs and extremely powerful riot control equipment were offered for sale.[10][11]
In February 2007, Richard Smith, former editor of the British Medical Journal, published an editorial in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, arguing that Reed Elsevier's involvement in both the arms trade and medical publishing constituted a conflict of interest.[12] He suggested that if academics began to disengage with Reed Elsevier, the company would be likely to end their arms fairs, as arms fairs only comprise a small proportion of their business.
On June 1, 2007, Reed Elsevier announced that they would be exiting the Defence Exhibition business during the second half of 2007.[13]
This means that the company no longer organises arms fairs around the world. The decision followed a high-profile campaign, coordinated by CAAT, which highlighted the incompatibility of Reed's involvement in the arms trade and their position as the number one publisher of medical and science journals and other publications. CAAT welcomed the decision and applauded the board of Reed Elsevier for recognising the concerns of its stakeholders.[14]

The lack of official scrutiny of that day is what speaks volumes to me. The official "narrative" (isn't a narrative a story?) just has so many gaps in it. |
