APELDOORN, Netherlands — Several people were injured in the Netherlands Thursday when a car raced into a crowd watching a royal motorcade.
A man in a black Suzuki Swift, a compact car, was speeding toward a bus carrying Dutch Queen Beatrix and several members of the royal family in the city of Apeldoorn. The car sped through a crowd, hurling people through the air and breaking barricades before it came to a violent stop when it hit a monument.
Dutch TV station ntv said two people were killed and 14 injured, but officials have not yet released figures.
Some reports spoke of what appeared to be an attack attempt on the royal family who were sitting in an open bus nearby. They watched in horror as police and bystanders provided emergency care for the many injured, Radio Netherlands reports.
The motorcade was part of celebrations for the Queen’s Day national holiday. All remaining celebrations were canceled.

Looks to me as if the initial video is shot from up a scaffold gantry. The second shot seems to be from a camera to the right, which then films the moments after impact right next to the scaffolding. Film of the car seems to be slowed down.
The national Queen’s Day holiday in the Netherlands is normally a joyful affair, but not this year.
The royal procession in the city of Apeldoorn was disrupted, and all subsequent official celebrations cancelled after a car drove into watching crowds at speed, killing four people and injuring 13, five seriously.

Things semed to have quietened on this rather quickly. Tried to find further news on the driver. One early report said 38 yr old man charged. one i read said he was dead. He was certainly still alive on one of the clips as his hands still moving. and he was on a drip being taken into ambulance.
