BBC, 2 June 2009

Quote:
BBC: What the Israelis say is that they have managed to persuade you at least to concentrate on Iran and to give what's -- behind the scenes they're calling it a bit of an ultimatum to the Iranians: By the end of this year there must be some real progress.

OBAMA: Well, the only thing I'd correct on that is I don't think the Israelis needed to convince me of that, since I've been talking about it for the last two years.

excerpts from: Transcript: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on 'This Week'

(transcript of ABC-TV's ‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ programme on 7 June 2009)

ABC News website, 7 June 2009

Quote:
CLINTON: […] I don't think there is any doubt in anyone's mind that, were Israel to suffer a nuclear attack by Iran, there would be retaliation.

ABC: By the United States?

CLINTON: Well, I think there would be retaliation. And I think part of what is clear is, we want to avoid a -- a Middle East arms race […] and we want to make clear that there are consequences and costs.

Now, let me just put it this way: If
[…] they [i.e. the Iranians] believe that the United States might attack them the way that we did attack Iraq, for example...

ABC: Before they attack, as a first strike?

CLINTON: That's right, as a first strike, or they might have some other enemy that would do that to them, part of what we have to make clear to the Iranians is that their pursuit of nuclear weapons will actually trigger greater insecurity, because […]

ABC: Because Israel will strike before they can finish?

CLINTON: Well, but not only that. I mean, other countries, other Arab countries are deeply concerned about Iran having nuclear weapons. […]

excerpts from: “Wiped Off The Map” – The Rumor of the Century

by Arash Norouzi, Global Research, 20 January 2007

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=4527

Quote:
Across the world, a dangerous rumor has spread that could have catastrophic implications. According to legend, Iran’s President has threatened to destroy Israel, or, to quote the misquote, “Israel must be wiped off the map”. […]

[…] [W]hat exactly did he [i.e. Iran’s President Ahmadinejad] want “wiped from the map”? The answer is: nothing. That’s because the word “map” was never used. […] Nor was the western phrase “wipe out” ever said.

Yet we are led to believe that Iran’s President threatened to “wipe Israel off the map”, despite never having uttered the words “map”, “wipe out” or even “Israel”.

There is altogether far too much focus being placed on one appalling event amongst many - a tendency ArmoredDinnerJacket understands very well. To put this most emotive of subjects into perspective in a public arena takes a very brave soul indeed. Why is this, do you think?

From the index at:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genocides_in_history

Quote:
2 Timeline of genocides and alleged genocides
2.1 Before 1490
2.2 1490 to 1914

2.2.2 Australia

Politicoes would do well to open their eyes and minds to:-

excerpt from: Clinton Threatens to Attack Iran ‘The Way That We Did’ Iraq

Secretary of State Says US or "Some Other Enemy" May Launch First Strike Against Iran

by Jason Ditz, Antiwar.com, 7 June 2009

Quote:
Citing the disastrous 2003 US invasion of Iraq as an example, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton today warned that by continuing to refuse to abandon its civilian nuclear program, Iran was risking the possibility of an invasion by the US or “some other enemy that would do that to them.”

The comments came during an interview on ABC’s “This Week” program, and when asked by interviewer and former Clinton-era official George Stephanopoulus, Secretary Clinton reiterated “that’s right, as a first strike.”

The bulk of the interview emphasized US opposition to the Iranian program, along with unquestioned claims that the nation was pursuing nuclear weapons. Secretary Clinton also extended the American nuclear umbrella over Israel in the event that Iran attacked them.

Considering it was no more than 72 hours ago that President Obama made his historic call for a “new beginning” to US relations with the Muslim world, it seems incredible that his administration is already raising the prospect of an Iraq-style invasion of Iran.

I notice that interesting threads get shilled up then closed. You think rubbish thread? Well, each to his and her own in the free world. I respect your right to hold that opinion provided it is genuine

One thing I can't help but notice is the overweening use of NAZI and HOLOCAUST product placement everywhere. It's would be funny if it were not so serious...

I am talking mass media, banner campaigns, and even those BNP imposters
