excerpt from: Remarks With Canadian Foreign Minister Cannon

Joint press conference by US Foreign Minister Clinton and her Canadian counterpart Cannon, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, 13 June 2009

Quote:
SECRETARY CLINTON: We watched closely the enthusiasm and the very vigorous debate and dialogue that occurred in the lead-up to the Iranian elections. We are monitoring the situation as it unfolds in Iran.

But we, like the rest of the world, are waiting and watching to see what the Iranian people decide. The United States has refrained from commenting on the election in Iran. We obviously hope that the outcome reflects the genuine will and desire of the Iranian people.

FOREIGN MINISTER CANNON: For Canada, on behalf of Canada, Canada is deeply concerned by reports of voting irregularities in the Iranian election. We’re troubled by reports of intimidation of opposition candidate’s offices by security forces. We’ve tasked our embassy officials to – in Tehran to closely monitor the situation, and Canada is calling on Iranian authorities to conduct fair and transparent counting of all ballots. [...]

Transcript of ABC-TV's ‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ programme on 7 June 2009

ABC News website, 7 June 2009

Quote:
CLINTON: […] I don't think there is any doubt in anyone's mind that, were Israel to suffer a nuclear attack by Iran, there would be retaliation.

ABC: By the United States?

CLINTON: Well, I think there would be retaliation. And I think part of what is clear is, we want to avoid a -- a Middle East arms race […] and we want to make clear that there are consequences and costs.

Now, let me just put it this way: If […] they [i.e. the Iranians] believe that the United States might attack them the way that we did attack Iraq
, for example...

ABC: Before they attack, as a first strike?

CLINTON: That's right, as a first strike, or they might have some other enemy that would do that to them, part of what we have to make clear to the Iranians is that their pursuit of nuclear weapons will actually trigger greater insecurity, because […]

ABC: Because Israel will strike before they can finish?

CLINTON: Well, but not only that. I mean, other countries, other Arab countries are deeply concerned about Iran having nuclear weapons. […]

Federal News Service, 14 June 2009

Quote:
NBC: […] Is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the winner of this election, as you see it?

VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN: Well, you know, we don't have all the details. It sure looks like the way they are suppressing speech, the way they are suppressing crowds, the way in which people are being treated, that there is some real doubt about that.

[…]

NBC: If these results are borne out, if Ahmadinejad remains in power, this administration has said it is willing to engage with Ira[n]. How do you go about doing that? […] Is this president going to be the one who allows Iran to go nuclear, or is he the president who stops it?

VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN: He's going to be the president who stopped it, God willing. We are not going to allow Iran to go nuclear [...]

UK Foreign Minister David Miliband: The long thesis of the conspiracy by foreign powers against Iran is peddled vociferously by the regime

Quote:
“Obviously the long thesis of the conspiracy by foreign powers against Iran is one that is deeply ingrained in the popular imagination and peddled vociferously by the regime. The demonisation of the West, the United States, the UK to some extent, has been a feature of the last 30 years.”

[UK Foreign Minister David Miliband, BBC Radio 4 interview, 16 June 2009] [1]

Quote:
“I believe discussion about the Iraq war has clouded the debate about promoting democracy around the world. I understand the doubts about Iraq and Afghanistan, and the deep concerns at the mistakes made. But my plea is that we do not let divisions over those conflicts obscure our national interest, never mind our moral impulse, in supporting movements for democracy […]

In the 1990's […] the left seemed conflicted between the desirability of the goal and its qualms about the use of military means. In fact, the goal of spreading democracy should be a great progressive project; the means need to combine soft and hard power.”

[UK Foreign Minister David Miliband’s “Democratic Imperative” speech, Oxford University, 12 February 2008] [2]

Quote:
“I think it's very important that there is a united front between the countries of Europe, America, Russia and China and countries of the Gulf in addressing the range of issues that are posed by the Iranian regime.”

[UK Foreign Minister David Miliband, Riyadh, 8 April 2009] [3]

Quote:
“In the next year, the most pressing threat to global order […] comes from the actions of Iran.”

[UK Foreign Minister David Miliband’s “Foundations of Freedom: the Promise of the New Multilateralism” speech, Hull, 21 November 2008] [4]

Quote:
“Iranian nuclear programme […] poses a threat not just to Israel but to the stability of the entire Middle East.”

[UK Foreign Minister David Miliband, speech at the Annual Lunch of Labour Friends of Israel, Whitehall, London, 4 November 2008] [5]

Well since they control much of what goes in the world's press they may as well make a pre-emptive strike of lies.
Seems pretty clear to me that Iran is being destabilised by political black operations.
Just like Ukraine, or Zimbabwe pattern.
Probably using US & European banks' bailout (our) money.

2009 Iranian election

Fraimovitch is the creator of the website www.helpiranelection.com, a page created to "Show support for the people who fight for democracy at Iran", aimed particularly at users of the Twitter social networking service.[10]

Challenged by an Egyptian Twitter user about his relationship with the Israeli Ministry of Defence, Fraimovich responded:

a. I no longer work for MOD; b. while I don't like their administration, I do have sympathy for the people.

Apparently, his twittering is in English and it is no surprise that Israel would put its hands into the Iranian election crisis in order to keep it going.

Erm, I was under the impression that even the CIA admits to its 1953 covert operation Ajax?

http://www.nytimes.com/library/world/mideast/041600iran-cia-index.html

New York Times wrote:
The Central Intelligence Agency's secret history of its covert operation to overthrow Iran's government in 1953 offers an inside look at how the agency stumbled into success, despite a series of mishaps that derailed its original plans.

Written in 1954 by one of the coup's chief planners, the history details how United States and British officials plotted the military coup that returned the shah of Iran to power and toppled Iran's elected prime minister, an ardent nationalist.

The document shows that:

# Britain, fearful of Iran's plans to nationalize its oil industry, came up with the idea for the coup in 1952 and pressed the United States to mount a joint operation to remove the prime minister.

# The C.I.A. and S.I.S., the British intelligence service, handpicked Gen. Fazlollah Zahedi to succeed Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh and covertly funneled $5 million to General Zahedi's regime two days after the coup prevailed.

# Iranians working for the C.I.A. and posing as Communists harassed religious leaders and staged the bombing of one cleric's home in a campaign to turn the country's Islamic religious community against Mossadegh's government.

# The shah's cowardice nearly killed the C.I.A. operation. Fearful of risking his throne, the Shah repeatedly refused to sign C.I.A.-written royal decrees to change the government. The agency arranged for the shah's twin sister, Princess Ashraf Pahlevi, and Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, the father of the Desert Storm commander, to act as intermediaries to try to keep him from wilting under pressure. He still fled the country just before the coup succeeded.

Proof: Israeli Effort to Destabilize Iran Via Twitter #IranElection
Monday, June 15, 2009 19:52

Were these legitimate Iranian people or the works of a propaganda machine? I became curious and decided to investigate the origins of the information. In doing so, I narrowed it down to a handful of people who have accounted for 30,000 Iran related tweets in the past few days. Each of them had some striking similarities -

1. They each created their twitter accounts on Saturday June 13th.
2. Each had extremely high number of Tweets since creating their profiles.
3. “IranElection” was each of their most popular keyword
4. With some very small exceptions, each were posting in ENGLISH.
5. Half of them had the exact same profile photo
6. Each had thousands of followers, with only a few friends. Most of their friends were EACH OTHER.

Why were these tweets in English? Why were all of these profiles OBSESSED with Iran? It became obvious that this was the work of a team of people with an interest in destabilizing Iran. The profiles are phonies and were created with the sole intention of destabilizing Iran and effecting public opinion as to the legitimacy of Iran’s election.

I narrowed the spammers down to three of the most persistent - @StopAhmadi @IranRiggedElect @Change_For_Iran

I decided to do a google search for 2 of the 3 - @StopAhmadi and @IranRiggedElect. The first page to come up was JPost (Jerusalem Post) which is a right wing newspaper pro-Israeli newspaper.

JPost actually ran a story about 3 people “who joined the social network mere hours ago have already amassed thousands of followers.” Why would a news organization post a story about 3 people who JUST JOINED TWITTER hours earlier? Is that newsworthy? JPost was the first (and only to my knowledge) major news source that mentioned these 3 spammers.

The BBC has again been caught engaging in mass public deception by using photographs of pro-Ahmadinejad rallies in Iran and claiming they represent anti-government protests in favor of Hossein Mousavi.

An image used by the L.A. Times on the front page of its website Tuesday showed Iranian President Ahmadinejad waving to a crowd of supporters at a public event.

In a story covering the election protests yesterday, the BBC News website used a closer shot of the same scene, but with Ahmadinejad cut out of the frame. The caption under the photograph read, ‘Supporters of Mir Hossein Mousavi again defied a ban on protests’.

The BBC photograph is clearly a similar shot of the same pro-Ahmadinejad rally featured in the L.A. Times image, yet the caption erroneously claims it represents anti-Ahmadinejad protesters.

Now Kissinger and Bilderberg weighs in calling for Regime Change
" I am sure that Americans would favour the emergence from the present situation of a truly popularly based government and it is very appropriate for the president to make clear that that is what he favours. Now if it turns out that it is not possible for a government to emerge in Iran that can deal with itself as a nation rather than as a cause then we have a different situation, then we may conclude that we must work for regime change in Iran from the outside but if I understand the president correctly he does not want to do this as a visible intervention in the current crisis."

The BBC has now changed the caption to:

Tehran has seen mass demonstrations by all sides since the disputed election (see correction below)

And added the footnote:

Update 19 June 2009: an earlier version of our caption was incorrect. We wrongly stated that this was a pro-Mousavi rally when in fact it was a pro-Ahmadinejad rally.

Well, if Kissinger is involved, I'm sure everything will work out; wasn't he involved (just a tiny bit!) with the overthrow of Allende? Something about Democracy, well, you can't let people vote the wrong guys in , now, just 'cos they're stupid.
Kissinger has the highest credentials - how's about this? :

http://www.radioislam.org/pape/pope-kissinger-eng.htm

As I have stated before, the Pope is a Catholic, but is he a Christian?
Sure, the same kinda Christian as Mussolini, General Diem, Rioss Mont, Bush, Bliar, Pinochet.

I feel betrayed by the BBC's treachery and complicity in these dreadful matters, particularly since having paid their license fee for years.

Last year a Kurdish chap was telling me about the BBC broadcasting disinformation into Iran during a former time of ferment and furore, to sway the people with untruths. I think it was related to the replacement of the elected government with the Shah, a while back.

It was their remarkable failure to report the Georgian invasion of South Ossetia that woke me up, when everyone was watching the Olympics while the Russians galloped to the rescue. I do not like the BBC being an agent of deception, and am uneasy when I turn the radio on these days. Unless it's just for that gorgeous music just before the shipping forecast near midnight.

Last week I listened to a programme on radio 4 about Iraq, and for the first time heard our illegal invasion referred to as "the intervention", and the allied invaders called "the interventionists". Is this happening elsewhere? It's new to me.

It's certainly a schizophrenic situation, as on that same day they were broadcasting news bulletins about the status of the coming inquiry into the "invasion" of Iraq.

However Newsnight on BBC2 gave a clear picture of the Iranian election having delivered the expected result, since Ahmadinejad (sp?)is still a popular man. It's the twinkle in his eye.

Elements at the BBC appear to be war-mongering and taking part in destabilising the delicate global situation. This is a nightmare, beautiful day, huge clouds, cold wind, so much pure propaganda, and nothing can be taken on trust when there are traitors poisoning the well.

Guardian Council: Over 100% voted in 50 cities

PressTV - Sun, 21 Jun 2009 21:38:30 GMT

Iran's Guardian Council has admitted that the number of votes collected in 50 cities surpass the number of those eligible to cast ballot in those areas.

The council's Spokesman Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei, who was speaking on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Channel 2 on Sunday, made the remarks in response to complaints filed by Mohsen Rezaei -- a defeated candidate in the June 12 Presidential election.

"Statistics provided by Mohsen Rezaei in which he claims more than 100% of those eligible have cast their ballot in 170 cities are not accurate -- the incident has happened in only 50 cities," Kadkhodaei said.

The spokesman, however, said that although the vote tally affected by such an irregularity is over 3 million, "it has yet to be determined whether the amount is decisive in the election results," reported Khabaronline.

Three of the four candidates contesting in last Friday's presidential election cried foul, once the Interior Ministry announced the results - according to which incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was declared the winner with almost two-thirds of the vote.

Rezaei, along with Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, reported more than 646 'irregularities' in the electoral process and submitted their complaints to the body responsible for overseeing the election -- the Guardian Council.

Mousavi and Karroubi have called on the council to nullify Friday's vote and hold the election anew. This is while President Ahmadinejad and his Interior Minister Sadeq Mahsouli have rejected any possibility of fraud, saying that the election was free and fair.

It looks like Ali Larijani -- Iran's Parliament (Majlis) Speaker -- is playing a pivotal role in resolving the crisis.

"Kadkhodaei further explained that the voter turnout of above 100% in some cities is a normal phenomenon because there is no legal limitation for people to vote for the presidential elections in another city or province to which people often travel or commute."

I copied the whole article, so I think presstv added that bit afterwards. But yes, it would make a difference if people voted where they worked instead of where they lived.

...as we rapidly approach the climax of MI6, Mossad and CIA 'activity within Iran':-

Quote:
With unrest in Iran, cyber-attacks begin
Activists have knocked key Iranian websites offline.
By Robert McMillan San Francisco | Wednesday, 17 June, 2009

An apparently ad-hoc cyber protest against the results of recent Iranian elections has knocked key websites off-line.

On Monday, sites belonging to Iranian news agencies, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were knocked off-line after activists opposed to the Iranian government posted tools designed to barrage these websites with traffic.

This type of attack, known as a denial of service (DoS) attack, has become a standard political protest tool, and has been used by grassroots protesters in several cyber-incidents over the past few years, including cyber events in Estonia in 2007 and Georgia last year.

Activists had encouraged anti-government protesters to use automatic web page refresh tools such as Pagereboot.com, to hit government run site. But they have also developed custom DoS tools. One such tool, called BWRaeper was posted to an Iranian sports discussion forum on Monday. Others are being promoted via Twitter and blogs, and hosted by activists in the US. ... ... ...

Not that anyone really needs to bother with details now Kissinger has made his pronouncement on Iranian 'regime change'.

Again... Rather shows up Clinton as an abject liar, doesn't it?

Stop The War website www.stopwar.org.uk just been hacked and down as well. I remember an Obama speech about he wanted to regain dominance in the techno world. This would fit nicely with Neocon? plans for Full Spectrum Domination.

Might scupper plans for any US attack on Iran if a more moderate guy gets in by conventional means but of course "regime change" can be assisted like weve seen in Iraq, leaving a large US presence in that land.

Guardian Council rules out vote nullification

Mon, 22 Jun 2009 21:29:16 GMT
http://www.presstv.com/classic/detail.aspx?id=98794&sectionid=35102010 1

Iran's Guardian Council rules out the possibility of nullifying the country's June 12 Presidential election, saying there has been no record of any major irregularity.

Abbas Ali Kadkhodaei, the council's spokesman, said late on Monday that most of the complaints reported irregularities before the election, and not during or after the vote.

The Guardian Council is the body in charge of supervising elections and has to approve the outcome before any result could be official.

Iran's Interior Ministry declared President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as the winner of the June 12th election with almost two-thirds of the vote.

The defeated candidates, Mir-Hossein Mousavi, Mehdi Karoubi and Mohsen Rezaei, cired foul once the results were announced and reported over 600 irregularities in the electoral process to the Guardian Council.

The council had agreed to randomly re-count 10% of the ballots. However, Mousavi and Karroubi rejected the move, calling for the annulment of the election.

@fish, Tony and anyone else who's had their site hacked (or DoS spammed) over the last few days:

Have you got the IP's of the hackers? Have you been able to track back to any specific IP? How many of the IPs point to www.citizeninvestigationteam.com or www.twf.org *?

Do you see the pattern? Islam is very anxious that westerners get a real grasp on the Pentacon evidence. Do you blame them for getting a little frantic? They are encircled, out-manouevred and 'out-deceived'

Psychos, acrobat? Hmm, not sure about that yet - until the IPs are in...

The PentaCon psychos trouble me far more...

---
ps. Why no reaction here to Kissinger's blatant threat? A threat that makes a total mockery of the whole western media hype about democracy for Iran? Wakey wakey...this needs pointing out on all relevent MSM comment pages, IMO
---
pps: I wish I could offer something even more positive than CIT on this, my 777th post ;-)
Well, there's always Enver Masud to follow up on, if you're so inclined: eg.

Chatham House and the Institute of Iranian Studies, University of St Andrews have published a report 'Preliminary Analysis of the Voting Figures in Iran’s 2009 Presidential Election', dated 21 June 2009.

Quote:
Preliminary Analysis of Voting Figures in Iran’s 2009 Presidential Election

www.chathamhouse.org.uk 2

Executive Summary

Working from the province by province breakdowns of the 2009 and 2005 results, released by the Iranian Ministry of Interior on the Farsi pages of their website shortly after the election, and from the 2006 census as published by the official Statistical Centre of Iran, the following observations about the official data and the debates surrounding it can be made.

    · In two conservative provinces, Mazandaran and Yazd, a turnout of
    more than 100% was recorded.
    · If Ahmadinejad's victory was primarily caused by the increase in voter
turnout, one would expect the data to show that the provinces where
there was the greatest 'swing' in support towards Ahmadinejad would
also be the provinces with the greatest increase in voter turnout. This
    is not the case.
    · In a third of all provinces, the official results would require that
Ahmadinejad took not only all former conservative voters, all former
centrist voters, and all new voters, but also up to 44% of former
reformist voters, despite a decade of conflict between these two
    groups.
    · In 2005, as in 2001 and 1997, conservative candidates, and
Ahmadinejad in particular, were markedly unpopular in rural areas.

That the countryside always votes conservative is a myth. The claim
that this year Ahmadinejad swept the board in more rural provinces
flies in the face of these trends.

http://www.chathamhouse.org.uk/files/14234_iranelection0609.pdf

Linked to from http://www.chathamhouse.org.uk/publications/papers/view/-/id/755/

It contains voting figures and statistical analyses, and the conclusions are drawn on the basis of the credibility of the swing since the previous election:

Quote:
In conclusion, a number of aspects of the reported turnout figures are problematic: the massive increases from 2005; the collapse of regional variations; and the absence of any clear link between increases in turnout and increased support for any one candidate.

No mention is made of the opinion poll carried out shortly before the elections by Terror Free Tomorrow, which showed a 2::1 support for Ahmadinejad ( http://www.terrorfreetomorrow.org/articlenav.php?id=5 ), which one might expect if the argument is to do with credibility. A previous poll in 2008 showed no strong preference. Both reports showed strong support for increasing democracy in the system. That is, of course, a different issue from the recent election.

Strange they should list this first, despite the official explanation already accepted by the majority of Iranians who voted at work in the cities, rather than going home to vote.

http://www.chathamhouse.org.uk/media/comment/iran_election_dalton/
Sir Wretched Dalton sez "Predictions are for the birds.";
sez "the redoubtable former President Rafsanjani" (hmm, can't Dalton spell 'corruptible'?);
sez "The unelected power centres are likely to do the same this time: using a mixture of intimidation and appeals to loyalty to suppress dissent." (you might think he was talking about USuk, wouldn't you?);
sez "They should make clear their doubts about the election and support impartial investigation and correction of abuses, as they would do for any other country.(except US & EU Commission, of course!)" etc etc.
What an evil twisted prat. Hey Ho and bye bye Chatham House, an oasis of deceit & death-dealing.

Now watch Kissinger's lips above for the 'real deal'... ^^^

(Israeli) Prime Minister's Office website, 22 June 2009

Quote:
RAI: Mr. Prime Minister, [...] you should be quiet satisfied this days because hundreds thousands people in Iran are demonstrating against your worst enemy, Mr Ahmedinajad. Do you support their struggle?

Netanyahu: I think that people now can understand many of the things that we have been talking all this years. This is a regime that oppresses his people and this is a regime that threatens everyone with the denial of the holocaust, the call for the elimination of Israel, with the sponsorship of terrorism throughout the world and with the attempt to develop nuclear weapons which they can give to terrorists around the world. I think now that what is the true nature of this regime has been unmasked.

RAI: You are talking about the nuclear program, in 1981 Israel bombed the Iraqi nuclear program in order to stop it, are you ready and in which circumstances to do the same with Iran?

Netanyahu: I think right now everybody understands that nuclear weapons in the hands of such a brutal regime could be very dangerous to the entire world. This is an international issue and I was very pleased to hear president Obama in my recent visit to Washington say that nuclear weapons in the hands of Iran is a strategic threat to the United States and the peace of the world. Certainly it is to my country, but it is an international danger and it should be dealt by an international effort led by the United states. That’s our preference.
