So you are saying that belief in anything is a survival strategy. If the Authority Voice says "There is a God" then everybody believes in God and if the Authority Voice says "Them Terrorists Hate Our Freedom" then we all hate terrorists and believe we're free?
I guess the concept of rational human thinking is an oxymoron.
Loose Change and 9/11 Mysteries are probably too gentle... too intellectual. Perhaps there needs to be a Life of Brian spoof

Yes. The truth is often uncomfortable and challenges our moral psyche. We all look uncomfortably on at starving kids in Africa and its not pleasant to get involved and have it as a constant reminder. We like to make our donation and hope it goes away. Perhaps its a safety mechanism for our minds.
The old biblical addage "the truth will set you free" is often misapplied. Certain truths require action and perhaps its the response to the truth that actually sets you free not the "truth" itself.
