Did I miss something here?
Does anyone on here know math???
30,000 troops into $30,000,000,000 = uh, uh, let me see here. Let me try that one more time here.
30,000 troops devided into $30,000,000,000 = uh, uh, well shoot.
One Million Dollars per person per year.

What to do about it, I don't know, but I do know something is going to give and soon. One way or another something is going to give. |

No I heard that figure as well on Radio 4. It costs $1bn each year to keep 1000 troops on the ground
Staggering but (probably) true. Probably actually an underestimate if you factored in the cost of repaying debts that the UK/US have incurred as a result of the war or the various humungous R&D budgets that 'defense' companies spend in developing new ways of killing people. |

30 billion for 30 thousand troops equals the same as 1 billion per thousand troops, any way you look at it. It is still ONE MILLION DOLLARS to keep each troop and that my man, is simply being stolen from the tax payer. Like everything else.
There's no way on God's Green Earth it should take more than 75-100 K per man per year.
They are robbing us blind. All it is to it. Robbing us blind because too many people are already wearing blinders. _________________ I have no doubt in my mind what so ever, Bush & Company, which includes God only knows who, that runs the gubbernut puppets, were 100% in charge on 9/11.

Now I am anti-war as much as the rest of you but you have to remember that this figure will include EVERYTHING. The equipment needed for war is a lot more expensive than you might think. _________________ Currently working on a new website |

Yes the lightweight desert jackets troops wear in afghanistan are about £20 in the local army navy store _________________ JO911B.

Irrespective of whether you want the troops there or not, are you saying they shouldn't receive the best equipment?
Not being argumentative, just asking. _________________ Currently working on a new website |
