1) BLAIR PROTEST MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER

Everyone who can, should try to join the protest at the Iraq
inquiry when Tony Blair appears on Friday 29 January. He
begins giving evidence at 9.30am and Stop the War's day of
protest will assemble outside the QEII Conference Centre at
8.00am.

For once a planned protest by the anti-war movement has
received wide media coverage (see http://bit.ly/85Ba2Z).

We must mobilise in the largest numbers possible, to demand
the arrest of those incriminated in the mass-murder of over
one million people.

Even the Chilcot committee, so obviously appointed to get Tony
Blair off the hook, has not been able to prevent revelations
proving beyond doubt that Blair, Straw and others should be
indicted now for war crimes.

We will also be defending on Friday our right to protest
peacefully on the green in front of the QEII, as originally
arranged. The police now say this will not be allowed. Stop
the War is still fighting this restriction, as we have been
given no reason for why we should not assemble on the green.
It is an affront to democracy to prevent protesters from
getting close to Tony Blair, whose culpability in this war is
there for all to see.

Please spread the word as widely as you can to encourage
people to join us on Friday, even if they can only do so for
part of the day (for a full timetable of events see:
http://bit.ly/8mKM0T).

After giving evidence, Blair is expected to leave the building
sometime between 4pm and 5pm, when we will aim to express as
forcefully as possible our call for him to be arrested.

For updates on Friday's protest see:
