This is a clip that shows the other side of the coin. The book Through Gates of Splendour tells of missionaries who went to take the love of Christ to the Waodoni tribe in Ecuador. This tribe had had little contact with the outside world and killing was second nature to them. The first missionaries made contact by air and lowered gifts in a basket and received gifts back. thinking they had befriended them they found a landing strip on a sandbank and landed. The tribesmen speared them to death on the sandbank. Later the wives of the murdered missionaries and later the son went back and were able to befriend and show forgiveness. The cycle of tribes killing each other was replaced with love and forgiveness

Thx but don't take my intentions the wrong way I found it interesting and a pointer to peer within ones own belief system. I must say like the Piraha I'm a sort of here and now character and would totally ditch the clock if it were not for appointments _________________ 'Come and see the violence inherent in the system.

No worries. Thanks for posting. I love to find out about how tribes people who have avoided much of out "technlogical processes" live. Fascinating way to live. The teachings of Christ were in a time and culture far different than western society although they do transcend time and culture. Death and eternity come to us all. The Piraha seem to have a mindset that avoids the issue till it happens.

Take therefore no thought for tomorrow: for tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
