That was not a solid bar of iron. It was just a plastic container covered in a black sheet of material so as to look like iron. It was melted enough by the applied microwave radiation to collapse under its own weight. The "skin" revealed from one angle of the camera shows that the object was not solid but hollow and enclosed in a sheet, some of which had become buckled by absorption of the microwave radiation. Some of the burnt sheet material flaked off.
Put a plastic carton inside a microwave oven and you will see a similar sort of thing.
like everything else promoted by the wood cult, hutchison's claims don't exactly have much credibility. he doesn't even have a coherent definition of what his alleged "hutchison effect" actually is - and he certainly can't reproduce it in a controlled environment (ie it fails the "scientific method" test). and if you're thinking that after 40 years of research he might have published the results of one of his experiments in a peer-reviewed journal you'll also be disappointed.
on the other hand, he'll quite happily sell you one of his rather expensive self-produced videos - the only problem being that he's been caught faking some of them.
in other words, the "Hutchison effect" seems to be another example of the kind of pseudoscientific snake oil that only gullible people believe in....

no paul - it's based the fact that Hutchison actually is a proven fraudster and a liar.
hutchison produces nice little videos of his "effect" allegedly taking place, but whenever people unconnected with Hutchison have set up their cameras in his lab to film a demonstration of the "effect" he has been unable to reproduce it.
similarly, whenever people unconnected with Hutchison have tried to reproduce his "effect" themselves it has also failed to materialise.
he has also been caught red handed faking video and has had to admit it.

sometimes I really don't know whether to laugh or cry....
I realise this is a silly question paul - but do you have any evidence that what we see in the clip is actually an iron bar? or are you just blindly believing what this proven fraudster who has been making unverifiable claims for 40 years is telling you?
I say this because it doesn't look much like an iron bar to me - either before or after the "experiment".
and looking at the close ups at the end of the video it does seem to consist of some plastic-like substance (lighter coloured) that's been wrapped in something else (darker coloured). this is particularly clear from about 1:35 onwards in the clip.
and the way the object deforms suggests very strongly that it is hollow.
if you really can't see this - despite "re-looking" - you need to have your eyesight tested.

here is a more recent documentary, done by LightworksAV, which shows Mr. Hutchison in his new and smaller apartment, conducting a small scale translational levitation effect on items of various materials.
this is a 2 part documentary, and the 2nd part coveres his free energy batteries that large Asian corporations are helping him to develop.

I don't expect anyone to be 100% convinced by this, but I think there has been enough information presented to at least show you that this most likely is not a hoax.
I really think we are going to hear a lot more about John Hutchison over the next 10 years.
