Safire’s conclusions mirror those of fellow columnist Robert Novak, who began his column of the same day (New York Post, 9/13 p. 59) by saying that “Security experts and airline officials agree privately that the simultaneous hijacking of four airliners was an ‘inside job,’ probably indicating complicity beyond malfeasance.”

Re Webster Tarpley on YouTube: a Very interesting scenario. The one that Webster Tarpley paints is that the Bush Administration did a better job than anyone on this forum would credit them!
According to this website written a year later, it was Cheney who told Bush who told an aide that "Angel was Next". It was a "credible" threat which meant it was other code-worded or came from a known source. It was just risk management it surely would have been noted as a "possible" threat - but at that time, most of the USA has a possible threat.
They also feared that Air Force One itself was a target. Cheney told the president there was a credible threat against the plane. Using the code name for Air Force One, Mr. Bush told an aide, “Angel is next.” The threat was passed to presidential pilot Col. Mark Tillman.
According to 911myths, "Angel" as a code word has been known for a long time. The question now remains how the message (with the not-so-secret code word) was sent to Cheney and why Cheney believed it to be a credible threat (unless it was supported with further information).
Interestingly Condi Rice was questioned about "Angel is Next" and she states they were looking into it. 7 years later... swept under the carpet, I think.

The 911Blogger report supports the statement that other codes (other than Angel) were used to support the threat to Air Force One. Further evidence (IMHO) that the "Angel is Next" proves 9/11 was an Inside Job. Bush, maybe even Cheney, still may have "plausible denial-ability" (I still think they are to their necks in the whole thing*) but the "Inside Job" moniker definitely sticks.
