Wonder who's behind this? Funny isn't it how the over paid middle managers who make these decisions are never named.
Also how far our courts judges have come from any real religious toleration. It's like the Pre Constantine Roman Empire all over again.
It's a very bad day for Christianity: Nurse's verdict after tribunal rules she can't wear crucifix at work

Shirley Chaplin, pictured wearing her crucifix to court, has lost a claim for discrimination
The nurse at the centre of a growing storm over discrimination against Christians yesterday lost her fight to wear a crucifix at work.
Shirley Chaplin, 54, was told by an employment tribunal that wearing the cross is not a 'mandatory requirement' of her faith.
She had been taken off hospital wards and moved to a desk job after refusing to remove the religious symbol.
Yesterday the grandmother lost her religious discrimination case against the hospital trust that employed her.
She described the result as 'a very bad day for Christianity'.
Seven bishops had supported her battle against the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, who said the inch-long crucifix and chain to which it was attached raised health and safety concerns.......

Oh the old "health and safety" chestnut again. I think i read they were concerned that an unruly patient might grab at the cross. Rather pathetic Which does make one wonder why they seemed to target a christian. The courts found that muslim head gear was a mandatory requirement.
I presume doctors wont be allowed on wards with their stethoscopes hanging around their necks. _________________ JO911B.

A group, perhaps Common Purpose, is stoking religious wars. Isolated Christians are being bullied. This gets publicised and Christians get angry and feel there is some kind of Muslim conspiracy against them.
How wearing a Cross breaches the employment contract is beyond me.
There is also another agenda against the Catholic Church. Long-term sleepers encouraged priests to sexually abuse and then covered it up. When it got widespread enough, it is now publicised. The Vatican revelations makes it easier for a New Age religion to come about.

but say it breached health and safety rules after a risk assessment showed it could be pulled by a patient in her care.
Well at least they carried out a risk assessment. Theres probably as much chance of me nodding off with apen in my hand and taking my eye out as there is to someone grabbing the crucifix and strangling her.
Why anyone would want to wear a crucifix as a piece of jewellry beats me anyway. Someone said would you make a silver kitchen knife and hang it round your neck if one of your loved ones had been murdered with one...
For Christians Christ told as what to do to remember his death until he returns and thats take the bread and wine symbols not wear a cross. Still- each to their own. _________________ JO911B.

Equalities legislation balances the ideas of gays with the ideas of faith groups.
Both are supposed to be equally valid.
Something Justice Laws doesn't get.
Christianity is now "irrational, divisive, capricious, arbitrary" and unlawful.
Oh dear. This is at the heart of why our system isn't working.

In a landmark case, the appeal judge told relationship guidance counsellor Gary McFarlane, a Christian, that he had no right to refuse to give sex therapy to gay couples.
What i find worrying in this is the line "no right to refuse...." bit which could be applied to almost any scenario you care to think of. Surely any person in their own business has a right to conduct business with any one they want to or not want to.
Mcfarlanes position as a christian would have mad it difficult for him to have given "sex/relational therapy" to a gay couple without causing further problems. And as a christian I doubt he would have had any training or experience of helping gay couples.

A Christian street preacher in Cumbria has been arrested and charged with a crime after he expressed his religious beliefs about homosexual conduct.
Dale Mcalpine, of Workington in Cumbria, appeared before local magistrates on Friday and pleaded not guilty to breaching section 5 of the Public Order Act.
Mr Mcalpine is being supported by The Christian Institute, a leading national defender of Christian religious liberty.
’Sinful’
He was preaching publicly in the town on 20 April this year but he insists he never spoke about the subject of homosexuality during his public sermon.
He says two Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) approached him and one identified himself as a homosexual.
According to Mr Mcalpine, that PCSO warned him not to say homosexual conduct is “sinful” because it would be a crime.
Arrested
The PCSO also identified himself as a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender liaison officer.
Mr Mcalpine told the PCSO that it is not a crime to describe same-sex practice as a “sin”.
Police officers later arrived on the scene. Mr Mcalpine was then arrested and held in a police cell before being charged with causing “harassment, alarm or distress” contrary to Section 5 of the public order act.
Not a crime
Solicitor-advocate for The Christian Institute, Sam Webster, says it is not a crime to express the belief that homosexual conduct is a sin.
“A Christian who stands in a public place and expresses his religious beliefs in the hope of persuading passers-by of his views – that is freedom of speech.
Respect
“Yes, the police have a duty to maintain public order but they also have a duty to defend the lawful free speech of citizens. It’s not for police to decide whether Mr Mcalpine’s views are right or wrong.
“Case law has ruled that the orthodox Christian belief that homosexual conduct is sinful is a belief worthy of respect in a democratic society.”
In November last year, the Government was defeated in Parliament over its attempt to repeal a free speech safeguard to a law against ‘sexual orientation hatred’.
Safeguard
The safeguard, introduced by former Home Secretary Lord Waddington, makes clear that criticising homosexual conduct, or encouraging someone to refrain from such conduct, is not in itself a crime.
