and I hear details its in the same area anti-terrorist training had taken place. Shocked

Will we see a shotgun ban? Or just tighter controls?

http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2010/06/02/20100602britain-taxi -driver-deadly-rampage.html?source=nletter-news

Quote:
SEASCALE, England - A taxi driver went on a shooting spree across a rural area of northwestern England on Wednesday, police said, killing 12 people and wounding 25 others before turning the gun on himself.

The rampage in Cumbria was the deadliest mass shooting since 1996 in Britain, where gun ownership is tightly restricted and handguns are banned.

The deadly spree "has shocked the people of Cumbria and around the country to the core," Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Hyde said.

Officers found Bird's body in woods near the Lake District village of Boot. Hyde said two weapons were recovered from the scene.

The shootings occurred in the town of Whitehaven and nearby Seascale and Egremont, about 350 miles (560 kilometers) northwest of London. The area is popular with hikers and vacationers.

Health service spokesman Nigel Calvert said three of the injured were in a critical condition in the hospital.

Hyde said there were 30 separate crime scenes. Witnesses described seeing the gunman driving around shooting out the window of his car. His victims included a woman on a bicycle, a farmer in his field and at least two fellow taxi drivers.

Barrie Walker, a doctor in Seascale who certified one of the deaths, told the BBC that victims had been shot in the face, apparently with a shotgun.

Witness Alan Hannah told the Whitehaven News that he saw a man with a shotgun in a car near a taxi stand in Whitehaven. Photos showed a body, covered in a sheet, lying in a street in the town.

"This kind of thing doesn't happen in our part of the world," local lawmaker Jamie Reed told the BBC. "We have got one of the lowest, if not the lowest, crime rates in the country."

Multiple shootings in Britain are rare. In 1987, gun enthusiast Michael Ryan killed 16 people in the English town of Hungerford. In 1996, Thomas Hamilton killed 16 children and a teacher at a kindergarten in Dunblane, Scotland.

Glenda Pears, who runs L&G Taxis in Whitehaven, said one of the victims was another taxi driver who was a friend of Bird's.

"They used to stand together having a (laugh) on the rank," she said. "He was friends with everybody and used to stand and joke on Duke Street."

Sue Matthews, who works at A2B Taxis in Whitehaven, said Bird was self-employed, quiet and lived alone.

"I would say he was fairly popular. I would see him once a week out and about. He was known as Birdy,' " she said.

"I can't believe he would do that - he was a quiet little fellow."

Could this be a 'vigilante' style attack?
Does look like he may have been driving round killing specific people.
Cumbria police say they 'don't know' whether Derek Bird had a firearms licence. Of course they do.
Why would they lie?
News mow saying they think he did.
Who signed off the licence?

Apart from his brother, his solicitor and two fellow taxi drivers, the attacks victims appear rather random. Almost certainly, he'll have been on prozac or similar
People are drawing a line with Hungerford, but it strikes me that there may be a parallel with the Beltway killing spree, a more occult ritual type of affair

The "Prozac" comment from Paul Wright is probably the most apposite here.

After Hungerford certain guns were banned. After Dunblane certain guns were banned. OK. But in a country where hardly anyone has a gun these things are hardly "The Machinations Of Babylon".

Despite running a 24hours newsstory there are no actual real news about what happened and why.

For how long was the lone gunman going round, the routes, why weren't police marksmen on the scene, not a single relative of his has appeared on the tv...

10 odd turks were killed the day before and not a single condemnation from the government. This event is covered up by the latest event.

Is there a connection? Only time will tell.

As we all know by now, any case like this of "a lone gunman" shouldn't be immediately taken at face value.

However he was a taxi driver so would probably be aware of routes that would be best to take to avoid detection.

Just watching the news now and one of the folks that knew him has said he kept himself to himself....I'm sure many will recall the the terror line ad that lists the above trait as a possible sign.

Gun laws, for the few licensed guns in this country, will no doubt be tightened yet again. Not a completely bad thing. But it does compare to the attempted complete disarmament going on in the US.

Nuclear arms are still ok though. Unless you're the leader of a brown nation.

The home secretary MP has just almost said "unfortunately shootings like this are extremely rare" but corrected herself at the last second.

For now, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

Flood claim solicitor killed in Cumbria rampage

3rd June 2010

A solicitor whose firm is preparing a class action against United Utilities over damage caused by last year's floods is understood to be one of the first victims of gunman Derrick Bird.

Kevin Commons, 60, was a senior partner at KJ Commons & Co solicitors which has offices in Whitehaven, Carlisle and Workington.

According to the BBC he was found dead in the driveway of his house in Frizington.

It is understood Mr Commons acted for the Bird family and there is speculation that the rampage in West Cumbria, which left 12 dead and 25 injured, was sparked by a row over a will.

Since December KJ Commons & Co has been acting for a group of people living near United Utilities' Thirlmere reservoir who are seeking compensation for damage caused by November's floods.

No claim has been filed but KJ Commons has sought information from Warrington-based United Utilities as a pre-action disclosure. The company has responded, saying any claim will be "vigourously defended".

Cumbria flood victims lining up suit against United Utilities

United Utilities is facing a potential mass action suit from up to 100 victims of the Cumbria floods who are unhappy with the water company's defences.

By Rowena Mason
Published: 11:54PM GMT 13 Feb 2010

Law firm KJ Commons is acting for those who believe they have a claim against the company, including people whose property has been damaged and those who have large insurance excesses.

Homeowners living near United Utilities' Thirlmere reservoir are angry that the lake was overflowing for three weeks before the flood.

Markus Nickson, a senior lawyer at the firm, has written to United Utilities asking for a "detailed breakdown of its actions in the period up to and during the flood on November 19" as a pre-action disclosure.

No claim has been filed, but the company has been notified that its actions are under "close examination with a view to proceedings being commenced for compensation".

The water company replied that it would "like to place on record that we do not consider we are liable to pay any compensation to your clients".

A large suit against United Utilities could be costly for the water company already facing the prospect of having to spend high levels of funding to maintain defences.

Campaigners have urged the company to keep the water levels of its Thirlmere reservoir 3m below maximum, leaving room for heavy downpours. After the flood, the company confirmed that Thirlmere had been overflowing since late October.

The possibility of a mass action comes after Lord Campbell-Savours, a former MP for Workington, told the House of Lords that United Utilities ought to be doing more to prevent flooding in the area.

He asked for "an end to United Utilities resisting reductions in water levels on the dam in high rainfall periods; and an end to the delay in the funding of flood protection measures on west Cumbria rivers, in particular the Greta in Keswick."

A spokesman for the water company said: "So far as we are aware, no proceedings have been issued. This claim remains at an investigative stage and we will vigorously defend any claim should one arise."

Coincidentally a BBC film crew were on hand recording for their Helicopter Heroes series and captured the Air Ambulance emergency response.

Quote:
Sky News today reports that a female walking her dog noticed Derrick Bird sitting in his taxi on the drive of the isolated farm house where solicitor Kevin Commons lived, at 5:30 am.

As she knew Derrick Bird she said hello to him but he did not respond and just stared back at her.

The precise chronology of yesterday's events is yet to be fully explained.

The police "response" will justifiably provoke some serious questions.

For those of a conspiratorial bent, you might like to research EU Directive 477

Today's reports state that Derrick Bird was carrying a .22 scoped rifle and a shotgun and that both were legally owned.

Shotguns and single shot rifles are the only remaining firearms that can be legally owned in the UK apart from muzzle-loading black powder pistols which would hardly satisfy as a weapon of choice for a "spree killer" now would it.

The predictable call for banning these weapons has already begun.

If implemented this would result in only the police, the military and the crims in possession of firearms.

As I said, EU Directive 477 . . .

It is interesting that we never used to have the problem of "lone nuts"! Now every time some troublesome person - such as a Martin Luther King, JFK, RFK, etc - needs bumping off by elites, or new draconian legislation needs bringing in - such as in Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Finland, USA and the UK, after Hungerford, Dumblain - one pops up. Sorry but there are too many questions about many of these incidents to accept anything at face value now. Those who rule over us, are not just psychopathic but control freaks, even the toughest firearms legislation in the world isn't good enough, even banning knives and certain breads of dogs isn't good enough.

Meanwhile, the people are begging their government to enforce more draconian legislation in order to protect them!

How does a taxi driver have a legal license for a sniper rifle?

Quote:
WAS CUMBRIA MASSACRE SHOOTER A MASON?
Derrick Bird goes down in history as one of the biggest multiple murderers using guns like Thomas Hamilton did during the Dunblane massacre. That is using guns, despite the almost blanket ban on gun possession in a British police state.

Very few people in the UK have any form of weapon to protect themselves from criminals and state tyranny. Most are either establishment types with large estates or members of the local masonic lodge, but that does not include the thousands of gun totting masonic cops hand picked to carry sub machine guns. Britain basically has a gun regime that does not allow anyone that is not part of the above groups to have a licence to own a gun.

Bird had a criminal record which should have been enough to block his gun licence however the cops would only recommend his licence if he was, like themselves, a mason. He was also a taxi driver and many masons who have past criminal records like Bird used taxi work as an alternative means of earning money and the masonic order also use them as listening stations with knowledge of when people go on holiday and their houses are empty. Their lodge buddies can then stake out their house for a raid. So with limited information it can be speculated that Bird has a strong possibility of being a mason and like Dunblane murderer Thomas Hamilton should NOT have been able to get a licence. Also how did it take the masonic cops in Cumbria THREE hours to find him despite shooting 37 people with 12 dying of their injuries?

I said this before - does this look some kind of blood ritual, defying, as it does, rational explanation? Looking on the map it's on the square at least
The numerology is interesting

After the twin brother and the solicitor, the rampage began at a taxi rank in a street containing a Police Station and a Masonic Lodge, and still continued for three hours
Quote:
The rampage began at about 10.30am when Bird produced a gun and shot fellow taxi drivers in Duke Street, Whitehaven, killing Darren Rewcastle.

One witness said the gunman drove up alongside him at traffic lights by Whitehaven police station in Duke Street.

Lewis Lodge, 872

Constituted: 30th September 1861.

A daughter Lodge of Sun, Square and Compasses Lodge No 119.

The lodge was initially numbered 1174 but changed to 872 in 1863.

They originally met in the Freemasons Hall, College Street, Whitehaven before moving into their own building, Masonic Hall, Duke Street, Whitehaven

Let me think - 10 Duke Street London, does that have something to do with 10 Downing Street, Winston Churchill,Alaister Crowley?

Police now saw him and knew where he was.
We also heard he had a meal with his brother not long ago.
Almost all relatives do not understand why he flipped.

So if a bank is being robbed and police radio in, do they allow the robbery to take place or the robbers to move about for the next three hours?

Sounds rather dodgy.

Given that helicopters were available, if you look at a map you will find that the available routes from Whitehaven southwards to Seascale are very few, confined to a comparatively narrow strip between the sea and the Cumbrian Mountains, with a single main road (A595), and a couple of B roads to St Bees and Seascale that were most likely used. The first proper exit out of this generalised route is via Gosforth towards Boot and the Hard Knott Pass.
It is difficult to see why a couple of helicopters deployed over a pretty small area would not have picked up Bird's whereabouts pretty rapidly
