At the STOP ISLAMOPHOBIA today, MP Tony Benn was reeling off the same old line about Germany and anti-semetism in the 1930′s and waffling on about the British Governments latest ludicrous diversion the English Defence League, when BAAM...

Well done, Daniel. Shame you didn't take a videoist along with you who could have put your intervention on youtube, instead of having to rely on al jiz or something _________________ http://www.exopolitics-leeds.co.uk/introduction |

Tony Benn's old war tales make him one of the most treacherous MP's there is. He is a walking(wheeling) contradiction. He and George Galloway are the old Labours momentos, exhibits there to keep withered old sentimental types involved in the pointless political process of left and rightism.
The fact that the British public voted for a hung Parliament proved this. _________________ http://www.the4thbomb.com/

Hi Noel, once I quite liked Benn, during the Thatcher era- as a kid I thought Bertrand Russell might be the bees knees for his sit down Committee of 100 stuff - my big brother was printing out 'Spies for Peace ' material at the time. I attended Michael Foot's election address at Hebden Bridge Trades Club where he managed to clumsily demolish the makeshift podium.
It's only in recent years that I've read the substance of these Fabian 'soft leftists', of Foot's admiration for Moseley, Russell's eugenicist theories
Time to let go of these sneaky sympathies for old time lefty prominent 'peace' types, perhaps
Snatching a mike off Benn to talk about something real is perfectly justified.
Just haven't spotted any video of the event yet

I'm not sure why you're addressing this to me. Paul. Did I express any admiration for Old Labour or Soft Lefties? I merely pointed out that describing Benn as an MP is inaccurate because he hasn't been one for the past decade. I've spoken to him about 9/11 and he's given me a cowardly answer, though why at his age he's bothered about what the media say about him I'm not sure, perhaps because he's president of Stop the War. |

Sorry Noel, I thought for one moment you and me shared a bit of historical perspective. I retract my address to you unreservedly
Perhaps I should have directed my comment towards Tony _________________ http://www.exopolitics-leeds.co.uk/introduction |

I was at the Stop Islamaphobia conference. Daniel O's intervention was brave and refreshing. Before his intervention, we were being given the line that the prejudice is being spread against Muslims because of the war on terrorism. Yes, but half the story. The Left's acceptance of the MI5 line justifies oppression of the Muslim community.
It is about time that such conference do not end without the argument of state sponsored terror being put.
Daniel interrupted M Begg. He was polite during his intervention. they first tried to stop him speaking but then let him continue. A number people in the conference clapped him. N one booed. Clearly, there are some on the Left who don't go along with the MI5 story. Tony Benn has been a beacon for the Left. But he had a chance to talk about state sponsored terror but didn't. |

I was just another member of the audience till I heard Tony Benn's speech.
His WW2/German/anti-Semitic drivel was the catalyst, I got up and when I reached the stage I addressed Benn looking him square in the face!
The Muslim Council/BMI chairman was about to intervene.. It was before Mozam Begg began his speech.

Paul Wright is 100% spot on...
Noel (Xmasdale) is Noel... and thats the main reason I declined his kind offer to edit/proofread The 4th Bomb after he read one of the draft copies I gave out back in 2007.
P.S Thanks for pointing out that he is in fact Ex- MP Tony Benn, aged 90. _________________ http://www.the4thbomb.com/
