What did he know?

Either that or its a cover to murder someone on the bus - nine dead - chinese tourists... doesn't seem likely. Being sacked after being a Policeman for 30 years seems rather harsh...

Well he must have only skim read otherwise he would have known the Philippines' CIA drug cartel authorities care not a jot for the lives of civilian hostages.
