Pope Says Catholicism Only True Church

In the late 1800s the Bishop of Liverpool J C Ryle wrote a leaflet called the True Church which refuted the Popes claims concerning the RC Church to be the only true church..

The teachings of Christ in the Bible explain that the church is made up of all those who have undergone what is called the "new birth" or in 17th century parlance "born again" It is an experience that Christ teaches is necessary to obtain eternal life in the Kingdom of God (heaven). It is the rebirth of the spirit within which has become blighted or dead (for want of a better word) by our own personal sin nature.
The biblical teaching is that no church, organisation or person controls the "new birth" it is a sovereign act of God in response to those who call on the name of Christ.
When the JWs or Mormons call and imply i have to join them in order to be "in the truth" I love quoting the words of Christ in John 3 :16 and ask the to stop at the word "Whosoever" and tell them I am one of the whosoevers. Bible also teaches that faith comes from hearing the word which means you dont need to listen to some old bloke wearing funny clothes a fish mouth hat speaking in a german accent and rides around in goldfish bowl stuck on top of a car.

But who can doubt that the Pope’s central theme deserves a hearing in a society increasingly devoted to instant self-gratification?

Doesn’t the Pope make a timely point when he warns against the march of ‘aggressive secularism’?
Other church leaders should draw courage from the success of his visit.
There’s a hunger in this country for a spiritual dimension in public life — and they should stop being afraid to feed it.

I'm not saying this is necessarily overwhelming evidence, but the maker of this video at spirituallysmart.com certainly makes his point plausible and the content is interesting.
