On the ritualistic angle doesnt the victim need to actually be alive (albeit drugged, drunk whatever) at the sacrificial time. The ones i have read about usually involved the victim not knowing they actually were to be a victim and are brought into some trance like condition. Being stripped naked is also used and if the killers had gone to trouble of redressing the body that could account for the misssed sock.
I dont recall the police having so many press conferences and drip feeding info. The "missing sock" could be the obvious plant to incriminate someone. Wouldnt surprise me if it suddenly gets connected back to the Landlord.
I wonder if they are drip feeding info as they are carrying out surveiilance on suspects just to see their reactions.
Bet the landlords car has been fitted with tracker or bugged. _________________ JO911B.

Satanist church planned for Taunton
BBC - 22 February 2005 1604 GMT
A Satanist priest is proposing to open a church in Taunton as soon as suitable premises have been found.
Many people associate Satanism with animal sacrifices. Is this what you do?
"No, not at all. The point of sacrifice in traditional Satanism is to heighten a magical presence.
"Modern Satanism says that this chemical release will come from within when performing certain rituals. We're strictly against sacrifice.
"We do have an altar and candles, and we do dress up in cloaks that cover our faces, even though people interpret this in a negative way."....

Quote: | Sentenced to life, the crossbow killer who ate his victims22nd December 2010
His "morbid interests" included Satanism, terrorism and knives, 30 of which were found in his flat, along with hundreds of journals dedicated to homicide studies, uncovered when police raided the heavily blood-stained premises after a caretaker discovered CCTV images of him shooting his third victim, Ms Blamires, with a crossbow.
Griffiths never explained to police why he chose to kill the three women, all of whom were from loving families, and had turned to prostitution to feed their drug habits. He said only: "Sometimes you kill someone to kill yourself. It is like deep issues inside me."
He described himself as "misanthropic" and said he "didn't have much time for the human race", but insisted he had "nothing against working girls and was not street cleaning like Peter Sutcliffe".
When he told officers he had eaten the thighs of one victim and cooked body parts of another, he said: "That's part of the magic."

Fagin-style Satanist captured | Metro.co.uk
7th March 2007
A sex offender, drug dealer and Satanist who went on the run after he was released from prison is back in custody.
Gary Dover Afflick, 41, is understood to be one of 16 offenders, including violent and sex offenders, who were released earlier this year after a decision by Law Lords.
Afflick was released from HMP Garth in Preston in Lancashire on February 28 after Law Lords ruled that the Home Office had misinterpreted the law.

Quote: | He said he was still anxious to trace the driver of a light-coloured 4x4 vehicle seen in Longwood Lane on the night Miss Yeates disappeared, and his officers were trying to rule out “hundreds” of vehicles captured on CCTV as they drove across the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the most likely route the killer would have taken to get to where Miss Yeates’s body was found. |
Given the amount of cctv cameras on the bridge and if the killer(s) were local and knew this then this might have been the LEAST likely route.
Of course cctv footage of someone lobbing a sock into the Avon might be pretty damning. _________________ JO911B.

Is that a light coloured 4x4 parked outside!
I see now its The Sun sponsored £50,000 Reward T Shirts at the Bristol football match. Dont think they would have tried that one in Liverpool.
I think the ritual killing stuff may require the "shedding of blood" if Satanic rather than strangling
Is longwood lane still closed and is that normal in a murder investigation?
If drug lords can do this and skin their victims then maybe Joannas death may simply be someone just trying to save their own neck
Another theory-- the murder was targetted with a view to implicating landlord (developers and council lost money due to his and others work in getting planning applications overturned) hence his initial arrest on flimsy evidence-- but the sock and pizza could still resurface.
Another theory that might explain the apparent lack of forced entry (although i seemed to have read conflicting reports about that) She was followed or lying in wait(we have some evidence of others close by) had the key in the door and then initially attacked , hence the screams, bundled into the house where strangulation is the quickest way to silence the screams. this doesnt really explain the half drunk cider unless SHE didnt drink it. The killer(s) stayed in the flat deciding what to do (maybe even ate the pizza) possibly knowing the boyfriend was away or possibly drug fuelled in which case reasoning goes out the window. Why take the body and dump it, why not leave it in the flat? Police must have evidence if the boyfriend phoned her before he returned. _________________ JO911B.

I had a chat to a friend today, this is it paraphrased:
The way the media have gone in to frenzy means that if it was a ritualistic satanic murder then the perpetrators will be gorging on all the attention from the public emotions of fear, anger, dismay and anguish that are being created and perpetuated. Despite dozens of other murder cases, why are the media selective over which murder cases they give air time to, and why do they go to town on some and not even report others, who makes these editorial decisions?
I've spoke to a satanic abuse survivor who claimed she'd been raped by her own dad, got pregnant and then the baby sacrificed in some big ceremony with a load of them there. When I asked why she didn't go to police she said that there were too many people involved (including cops) and that they would just pull the false memory/insane job on her or worse. This is not the only time I've come across this type of abuse and as you know there are many other reported cases of a similar ilk.
That whole area West of the Avon Gorge is riddled with white and black magicians of all types - I've come across witches circles complete with doll effigies, the works; off the beaten track in Leigh Woods - I'm guessing they've all taken their stuff away now due to the police combing the area.

If you were a burgler or wanting to hide in the flat when you heard the key in the latch where would you quickly hide-perhaps hoping to escape unnoticed? Burglars often target bedrooms where jewellry boxes kept. Hide under the bed?
what does a women do when she has just walked a mile or 2 home on a cold night. Take coat off, possibly hang it up, pee, make to the bedroom sit on the bed and take off those boots then take off sweaty ski socks or perhaps in this case only got to take off 1 sock before the killer gave "himself" away- she screams and he strangles.
where the pizza half drunk cider and reason to dump the body fits in is anyones guess.

|
|
Several articles have noted some remarkable similarities between between the death of Jo Yeates and the 1974 murder of Glenis Carruthers. Carruthers was found dead just outside Bristol zoo on January 19, 1974. She had been at the 21st birthday party of her friend Sandra Hardyman, but was killed after she left the party unnoticed, possibly to make a call from a nearby phone box.
As a curious coincidence, the Daily Telegraph noted, "Geoffrey Hardyman, who is Sandra Hardyman’s first cousin once removed, now lives above Joanna Yeates’s flat, which is around 350 yards from where the party was taking place."
According to the Daily Mail: "The 78-year-old former Clifton College classics master spoke out in the days following the disappearance of Joanna on December 17. He said: 'I wasn’t very well on the night she went missing and didn’t hear anything. I have heard reports there was a party in the area, but I heard absolutely nothing and I am quite a sensitive sleeper.'"
The Bristol Evening Post also has a good article on the similarities between the two murders. _________________ http://www.shoestring911.blogspot.com |

Police urged to DNA test EVERY man in Bristol in hunt for killer of Joanna Yeates
Kerry McCarthy, Labour MP for Bristol East, wants swabs to be taken from the entire male population - around 250,000 people.

pretty pointless if the killer was a jealous female. Think they would have to pass a new law to make it mandatory?
Does this mean the Police have some DNA traces on the body or clothing? _________________ JO911B.

McCarthy's argument is sickening and idiotic.
A nice DNA database of an entire city built on the fly.
Some elements within Labour seem to somehow be infatuated with this idea.
I can already see the lobotomized semi-morons repeat:
'But if you have nothing to hide you should go ahead and provide your DNA sample'.
Will the police track down every single male inhabitant of Bristol and force him to provide a sample?
Do we understand the privacy implications?
What if the perpetrator doesn't even live in Bristol?
Also, there are plenty of murders of younger kids in south London estates every week.
How come there are no calls for DNA sampling of London boroughs?
Then again, the kids who get murdered there are black... _________________ Summary of 9/11 scepticism: http://tinyurl.com/27ngaw6 and www.911summary.com

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view/170905/Jo-Yeates-murder-Mum-in-ca ll-for-DNA-test/
8th January 2011
By Jerry Lawton, Chief Crime Correspondent
THE mum of a teenager murdered in Jo Yeates’s area has urged police to DNA test locals in a bid to catch her killer.
Gillian Smith, 63, said the tactic helped snare the man who raped and killed her 18-year-old daughter Louise as she walked home from a Bristol nightclub on Christmas Day, 1995.
Avon and Somerset Police took DNA samples from 5,000 men in the area.
Their suspicions fell on student David Frost, then 21, when he tried to avoid giving a sample as requested and left the country. Detectives followed him to South Africa to get the sample and he was arrested at Heathrow Airport on his return to the UK.
Last night Gillian said: “I hope that people in the area are tested when the police are ready to do it.
“If they have a sample of DNA and no match on the national database then they should do it.
“They should test residents near where she lived in Clifton and where her body was found.”
Detectives hunting Jo’s killer are understood to be awaiting the results of tests on a DNA trace found on her body.
A police spokesman declined to comment on whether they plan to carry out mass DNA tests.
Meanwhile, the family of another girl strangled close to Jo’s flat 27 years ago said both victims could have been killed by the same person.
Glenis Carruthers, 20, died in 1974 after leaving a party in the area.
Both women were found without shoes.
Glenis’s stepmum Helena said: “The two cases do seem very similar.”
|
“The two cases do seem very similar.” Don't they just?
Quote: |
http://watchingyouwatchingyme-steelmagnolia.blogspot.com/2011/01/jo-ye ates-dna-found-on-her-body.html
What is known: Joanna was strangled, but the post mortem found no obvious signs of a sexual assault. She was also fully clothed when she was found, although her coat was found in her flat. A DNA sample from another person was found on her body.
ANALYSIS: The nature of the sample is unclear. DNA samples in other crime scenes often come from a piece of skin, a drop of blood or a fragment of fingernail. It is also unclear if the particle has provided the police with a full and unique DNA profile or is so-called ‘low copy’ DNA which makes it much harder to pinpoint to a single individual. Heavy snowfall which covered her body in the days before Christmas made it difficult for forensic specialists to determine accurate timings of events.
THE MOTIVE
What is known: Police have been careful to avoid publicly declaring a prime motive, but yesterday said they were considering a sexual motive.
ANALYSIS: Given that 88 per cent of murder victims know their killer, police are focusing a significant part of their investigation into the background of anyone who was acquainted with Joanna. Other credible theories include the possibility that she may have been followed to her flat by a random stalker or killed by a man whose romantic advances were spurned, possibly during her drinking session after work
that evening. |
"Given that 88 per cent of murder victims know their killer" (murderers)
How about wars, Do they know their murderers (not killers)
I do know that in this case he is said to have admitted it. But
what if evidence is planted, also DNA is not infallible. Would his plea of changed if they under their so called laws had the death penalty. |

Was joanna playing the field while boyfriend away for the weekend? Despite what her mother says
And yet while the boyfriend she is so much in love with is away for the weekend she buys a pizza and a couple of bottles of cider and invites another boyfriend around-- yes of course it could just be a platonic relationship but maybe i am old fashioned.
obviously rumour going around she had a secret lover

Are they pushing for the DNA testing.? No early reports of DNA having been found then the suggestion to DNA test all Bristol men (including TG), then reports of saliva traces found on the body
Quote: | A sample of saliva reportedly found on the body of murdered Joanna Yeates, right, could be the breakthrough police have been waiting for, a forensics expert has told the Evening Post.
The sample is said to have been found by forensic scientists who have been meticulously swabbing her body for clues that they hope will help catch her killer. |

Not sure if this is bad reporting or I had my earlier facts muddled but I thought Joanna went to bargain Booze after Tesco. I did query if you could see the pizza in the bargain Booze cctv.
Quote: | Joanna Yeates did not eat the pizza she was seen buying on her way home just before she went missing, police have confirmed.
Avon and Somerset Police said tests on Miss Yeates' body concluded she had not eaten the mozzarella, tomato and pesto pizza before she was found dead on Christmas Day three miles from her flat.
Detectives said Miss Yeates had made it home to her flat in Canynge Road, Clifton because her shoes, coat, mobile phone, purse and keys were found there - although the pizza, the wrapping and its box are still missing.
The final steps of the 25-year-old have been reconstructed for BBC's Crimewatch in a bid to catch her killer.
The landscape architect's journey started after leaving BDP where she worked.
She went to the Bristol Ram pub on Park Street in Bristol City centre, where she had Christmas drinks with work colleagues.
Miss Yeates spent around two hours socialising with her friends before leaving at around 8pm to make the 30 minute walk home to the ground floor flat in Canynge Road, Clifton, that she shared with her boyfriend Greg Reardon, 27.
She was seen on CCTV in a Waitrose supermarket at the Clifton Triangle and then went to a Tesco Express in Clifton village where she bought the pizza.
During the filming of the reconstruction the actress playing Miss Yeates entered the Tesco Express on Regent Street in Clifton village.
She was wearing the same cream-coloured coat as Miss Yeates was wearing on the night she disappeared.
She also had a black rucksack and was carrying two plastic bags - including a white bag, which held the bottles of cider she bought previously at Bargain Booze, and a black bag of which the contents have not been revealed, but which police say are not significant.
Inside the store the actress was filmed picking up the Tesco Finest mozzarella, tomato and basil pesto pizza and taking it to the till.
The pizza was paid for at a self-service till with a ?10 note.
After receiving her change, the actress was finally seen leaving the store and heading up Regent Street towards Miss Yeates's home.

So why did it take Avon & Somerset detectives a month and well over a million pounds of public money to arrest the most obvious suspect. Jo's next door neighbour? They better be right.
Quote: | Neighbour charged with Jo murder
(UKPA) – 22:10 - Saturday 22nd January 2011
A 32-year-old man has been charged with the murder of landscape architect Joanna Yeates, police said.
Vincent Tabak will face Bristol Magistrates' Court on Monday accused of killing the 25-year-old.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Jones, who led the inquiry, said: "This evening we have charged Vincent Tabak with the murder of Joanna Yeates.
"I would like to pay tribute to Jo's family and Greg for their assistance and dignity in the most difficult of circumstances. Their support to us has been invaluable.
"I would also like to thank the general public for their help and the information they continue to provide to the investigation, and the residents of Canynge Road for their co-operation and patience."
Dutch engineer Tabak, who lived next door to Miss Yeates at 44 Canynge Road, Clifton, Bristol, was arrested on Thursday.
Specialist search teams have been examining Tabak's flat, which he shares with his girlfriend, Tanja Morson, an analyst for Dyson, in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.

Tabak's arrest was the second to be made by detectives since Miss Yeates's frozen body was found dumped in a lane on the outskirts of Bristol on Christmas Day. Her landlord, Chris Jefferies, 66, was arrested on December 30 and questioned for three days on suspicion of murder before being released on bail. |

Miss Yeates shared her rented home with her boyfriend, Greg Reardon, 27.

Is there some reason why the neighbour or landlord should even be the most obvious suspect?
Lets play devils advocate. After 3 days of questioning and running out of time the police realised the poor sod had no credible alibi that would stand up in court and that given the pressure they had been under it needed the case wrapping up. So the sock and pizza suddenly were found in the dutchmans wheelie bin-- and following waterboarding he confessed to the murder--case solved!
Wonder what evidence they had for arresting the Landlord as that proved flimsy- maybe they are using the same piece of evidence to stick on the Dutchman . One report suggested there were 3 different DNA traces on her body (body or clothing?) Christmas kisses at the Ram?
Maybe I dont want to think its the Dutchman because without a known motive we see a fairly ordinary guy with purpose and a career, and a girlfriend. At 32 the mid life crisis hasnt kicked in. Somehow it seems more comforting to think the murderer was some mentally unstable deadbeat from a broken home or at least some mad demon controlled satanist. (well he had been to Stonhenge with his girlfriend according to one photo--- a closet druid ?)
And we dont get to find the evidence till court? _________________ JO911B.

It could be as simple as...they were having an affair, she was threatening to end it/tell everyone, they argued, he strangled her. Maybe...
Judging by the lack of evidence of any kind of attack on Jo (apart from the obvious...) I would lean more towards the two of them already being sexually involved rather than her attacker's motive being sexual.
However...if the pizza and/or sock appear at all now then IMO the whole thing is bogus. The media are already playing the game by making everyone think it was Tabak without even being able to reveal why the police even arrested him. Once they pin the sock on him, if they do, that will be enough for the mob nation to go 'see, I told you it was him!' and so it's end of story... |

Looking into the shallow depths of my own mind and wondering about the psychology of the police/media unveiling of events, I see I would have put my house on it not being Jeffries the landlord probably based on the honest (not media hyped) limited info we had about the guy which character wise just showed him as some fairly harmless slightly eccentric guy who you could have spent an amusing evening with over a glass of wine.
However, now the innocent till proven guilty dutchman with an equally inoffensive and innocent CV who on paper i would equally put as innocent now arouses suspicions as I dont believe lightning can strike the same place twice with the police screwing up twice. But then that is maybe the same mental state that the investigating police are under as well.
The "fresh" evidence thing intrigues me -- maybe his girlfriend is somewhere linked in.
I remember at the time of the Soham murders and Huntleys arrest something didnt sit happy and then when the lead detective? was found with pedophile photos on his computer it certainly caused confusion. _________________ JO911B.
