for the record. How long does a DNA test take?, what have they tested it against?Where did they test it (on board ship?) Killed on 1st may ? watched live by Obama, body recovered, body identified by one of his wives? ( is she still alive? a witness), US military moved out of Pakistan before breaking news, other countries contacted to see if they want the body. buried at sea within 24hrs of death? DNA test?

US: DNA Test Match Proves Bin Laden Death 3/5/2011
Osama bin Laden's death has been confirmed by DNA tests that show a "virtually 100%" match with the al Qaeda leader, US officials have revealed.
The world's most-wanted man was buried at sea in the early hours of Monday morning, after he was killed by a gunshot to the head at a villa in the Pakistani town of Abbottabad.
Quote:
Officials said his body had also been identified by a woman believed to be one of his wives.
US President Barack Obama, who watched the operation unfold via a live TV link, said: "The world is safer, it is a better place because of the death of Osama bin Laden."
A US defence official said Bin Laden was given an Islamic funeral, which involved him being wrapped in a white sheet and washed before being sent overboard.
It is being reported that video footage of that ceremony and photographs of the body are likely to be released soon.
Reports have also emerged that a video thought to have been recorded by Bin Laden some time before his death is due to surface in the near future.
Officials said the ceremony took place at sea because other countries - including Saudi Arabia and Pakistan - refused to take custody of the body.
US chief counter-terrorism advisor John Brennan insisted bin Laden would have been taken alive if there had been the opportunity.
That contradicted sources that had previously claimed the operation had been a "kill mission", with no attempt to capture the target.
He also said a woman - thought to be another of Bin Laden's wives - had been killed during the operation after he used her as a human shield.
But he praised Mr Obama's decision making.
"The president had to evaluate the strength of that information and then made what I believe was one of the most gutsiest calls of any president in recent memory," he said.
CIA director Leon Panetta warned that al Qaeda was likely to seek to avenge the death of its figurehead.
"Though Bin Laden is dead, al Qaeda is not," he said.
"The terrorists almost certainly will attempt to avenge him."
Blood-stained carpets, stripped beds and emptied drawers can be seen in footage filmed inside the villa by American broadcaster ABC News following the raid.
Video pictures showed flames rising from the scene of the firefight between US forces and Bin Laden's guards just before 1am local time on Monday.
It is thought the al Qaeda leader had been living in the walled $1m villa - just 37 miles from the Pakistani capital Islamabad - for at least the last eight months.
The high-security luxury home, which was built in 2005, aroused suspicion after authorities noted it had no telephone or internet connections.
Bin Laden's compound is very close to Pakistan's main army training camp - the Pakistani Kakul Academy in Bilal Town.
US officials said the CIA tracked Bin Laden to his location, then elite troops from Navy Seal Team Six, a top military counter-terrorism unit, swooped on the hideout in four helicopters.
The al Qaeda leader, blamed for the 9/11 attacks on America in 2001, was reportedly asked to surrender by US forces before he was shot in the head.
Pakistani television stations earlier broadcast what they claimed was a photograph of the bloodied face of the world's most wanted man after his death, but this was later shown to be a fake.
Officials said one of military helicopters suffered mechanical failure during the operation and was destroyed after troops had safely disembarked, leading to the blaze visible at the scene.
"A small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability. No Americans were harmed. They took care to avoid civilian casualties," President Obama said.
Pakistan's High Commissioner in the UK told Sky News that the country's authorities had not been aware of Bin Laden's presence in Abbottabad until after his death.
Wajid Shamsul Hasan nevertheless insisted that there was "total cooperation" between Pakistani authorities and the US government.
Following the operation, President Obama confirmed in a news conference: "I can report to the American people and to the world, that the US has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden."
The US president said he was briefed last summer about a possible lead to the whereabouts of Bin Laden - who fled the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 - and last week appproved an operation "to bring Bin Laden to justice".
Speaking from Downing Street, the Prime Minister David Cameron said the news would be welcomed across the country.
"It is, I believe, a massive step forward," he said.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Office issued an alert to UK nationals overseas, advising them to monitor local reactions and remain vigilant.
Radical preacher Anjem Choudary, who acts as spokesman for Muslims Against Crusades claimed that attacks on the UK and fierce fighting abroad would be sparked within days.
"I think Britain is more likely to face a 7/7 today than ever," the sharia law lecturer said.
US citizens welcomed the news with hundreds of people gathering outside the White House and in New York's Times Square.
Former president George W Bush said it was a "momentous achievement".
"The fight against terror goes on but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done," he said in a statement.
President Obama also warned that "al Qaeda will continue to pursue attacks" against the US.
And US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton added that the al Qaeda "syndicate of terror" did not end with Bin Laden's death.
The US state department issued a worldwide travel alert to all US citizens warning of an "enhanced potential" for US citizens to be targeted.
(CNN) -- A diplomatic source told CNN that the courier who was in close contact with Osama bin Laden and who eventually led the United States to him was a Kuwaiti named Abu Ahmad.
U.S. officials have said that when the identity of the courier -- who they have not named -- was established in 2007 the U.S. began a path to the house in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where the al Qaeda leader was living.
Analysis of assessments of detainees held at the U.S. Navy's detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, include several mentions of a man by the name of Abu Ahmad al Kuwaiti, who was reportedly close to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed -- also a Kuwaiti.
The information on the detainee assessments came from U.S. Defense Department documents published by WikiLeaks.
Since the operation that killed bin Laden, U.S. officials have described the courier they were tracking as a protege of Mohammed and another senior member of al Qaeda, Abu Faraj al Libi, a Libyan detainee who was named as al Qaeda's third most senior leader when he was captured in May 2005.
Bin Laden killing caps decade-long manhunt
One assessment -- compiled in October 2008 -- concerns a Saudi citizen called Maad al Qathani, the man who was intended to be the "20th hijacker" on 9/11 but who failed to gain entry to the United States.

It said: "Detainee is associated with other key al-Qaida members including senior operations planners Khalid Shaykh Muhammad."
The document later said that al Qathani "received computer training from al-Qaida member Abu Ahmad al-Kuwaiti in preparation for his mission to the U.S."
Al Kuwaiti was then "a senior al Qaeda facilitator and subordinate" of Mohammed. The assessment added: "Al-Kuwaiti worked in the al-Qaida media house operated by KU-10024 (Mohammed) in Kandahar and served as a courier."
No obvious replacement to succeed bin Laden as al Qaeda's leader
Al Qathani reportedly spent about three months in basic training with al Qaeda from December 2000 to February 2001 when he was introduced to bin Laden.
Establishing al Qathani's association with Mohammed, the assessment continued: "Detainee stated UBL told him that since he (detainee) loved to serve his religion, he must go to KU-10024, who will ask him to "do things." It was the first of several encounters with the al Qaeda leader, to whom al Qathani swore a personal oath of allegiance.
The document established that al Kuwaiti was close to bin Laden and traveled with him.
"Al-Kuwaiti was seen in Tora Bora and it is possible al-Kuwaiti was one of the individuals detainee reported accompanying UBL in Tora Bora prior to UBL's disappearance," it says.
In an assessment of al Qathani's intelligence value, the document noted that he "had access to the inner circles of al-Qaida through his interactions with senior al-Qaida members including UBL, (Ayman al-) Zawahiri, KU-10024 (Mohammed) and others."
Al-Zawahiri was al Qaeda's No. 2 man under bin Laden.
Another detainee assessment also mentioned al Kuwaiti. It was of an Indonesian member of al Qaeda called Riduan Isomuddin, who had spent nearly two years in the 1980s fighting jihad in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He also knew Mohammed, according to the assessment, which said that "in November 2001, detainee and his wife left Kandahar for Karachi. They stayed at the Abu Ahmad al Kuwaiti guest house for two weeks."
Al Qaeda operated a network of guest houses (or safe houses) in Afghanistan and Pakistan before and immediately after the 9/11 attacks.
Isomuddin was captured in August 2003 in Thailand by a joint Thai-U.S. operation and is described in the assessment as a "high-value detainee."
CNN has been unable to confirm with U.S. officials the identity of the courier, but several factors point to al Kuwaiti as the courier who inadvertently led the United States to bin Laden's hiding place: al Kuwaiti's reported history with the organization, his access to senior leaders, his description in the Guantanamo assessment as a courier, and the fact that he was never captured.
CNN has been unable to establish whether he was at the compound when U.S. forces staged their raid or whether he was killed in the operation.

Five terror suspects are being questioned by detectives after being arrested outside the Sellafield nuclear plant in Cumbria.
Counter-terror police also raided four houses in east London linked to the suspects, who were held after a vehicle stop-check near one of the UK's most sensitive nuclear installations.
A police spokesman would not be drawn on reports the suspects had been filming the Sellafield site and are all Bangladeshi.
The gang of five men, all in their 20s and from London, were held on Monday afternoon, 300 miles from their homes, and just hours after news broke of the killing of Osama bin Laden in a raid by US special forces in Pakistan.
It put the Western world on high alert of possible revenge attacks from al Qaida, amid threats of a "nuclear hellstorm" on the West if bin Laden was ever captured or killed.
The suspects were detained at 4.32pm following a stop check on their vehicle by officers from the Civil Nuclear Constabulary, which polices the vast Sellafield site in West Cumbria.
The five were then arrested under the Terrorism Act by officers from Cumbria Police, held in custody in Carlisle overnight and transferred to Manchester to be dealt with by the North West Counter Terrorism Unit, based in the city.
After details of the arrests were released by the Cumbria force and Greater Manchester Police, Scotland Yard released details of the raids on four houses in east London.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the raids formed part of the investigations into the men held at Sellafield, following information passed to them by GMP.
The arrests are not believed to have been intelligence-led, but as a direct result of the initial police stop check on the suspects' vehicle
Apparently, his wife and daughter survived the raid. It will be interesting to see if they surface for comment. I'm not holding my breath.
Nice to see they waited until the beginning of the news week to launch the raid.
The idea that OBL would be living in a compound next door to the Pakistan Military Academy and down the round from their intelligence headquarters, in one of Pakistan's most secure neighborhoods - where a security clearance is required - is laughable. As is the idea that several US special forces helicopters flew through Pakistan airspace, into the heart of the capitals most secure military zone and carried out a successful raid, without approval from the Pakistan government - there-by risking being shot out of the sky by the Pakistan air force or gunned down on the street by the Pakistan Army or Paramilitary Police. The idea that the raid was beamed back in real time to the Whitehouse situation room, so that Obama and Hillery would watch a live sacrificial killing spree, is also cranky! But then the US government is as cranky as governments come!
I'm not saying this was not Osama Bin Laden - let's face it, they could have been housing his there for video updates. But the fact that he was dropped into the sea, a matter of a couple of hours later, makes the whole story sound completely insane!
Image WW2 ended, but Hitler escapes... a decade of conflict rages on in the fascist enclaves of the world. Then one day, Hitler is tracked down, shot and immediately dumped in the sea before anyone can check it's really him! You can't make this * up! But someone obviously has!

Bin Ladens Death: Afghan Retreat or New Provocation?
Just as the ex-USSR's retreat from Afghanistan led to its collapse the
same is destined to happen for the USA.
American imperialism after the collapse of actually existing socialism
replaced the threat of communism with the global threat of
'terrorism'm
Bin Laden a man of the CIA was used as the fall guy for the
provocation of the Twin Towers.
US imperialism and its subservients used this provocation so as to
intervene in Afghanistan assuming it would be a cakewalk. There were
so sure of their victory in Iraq for instance that they brought tonnes
of flowers with them so as to give it to the people there.
But events ended up taking a different course, their defeat is surely
guaranteed on both a military as well as a financial level. Everyone
realises this and it has become consciousness to all. For the USA to
continue the war and to leave like a beaten dog would be a massive
waterloo on its prestige.
To extend the wars with new terrorist provocations without the
required human forces to be able to cope with such a war would be
total mindless opportunism.
Consequently the withdrawal of 'Bin Laden' from the scene has meant a
massive defeat for terrorism and the acceptance of defeat, the
strategy of the 'terrorist' theatre, to win the war. A last chance to
withdraw 'decently' from the Afghan front, without appearing to do so,
with their tail between their legs.
The aim of the campaign to kill off the 'arch-terrorist' has been
achieved and they no longer require to remain anymore. That will be
the beginning of their end, their Empire plans of the USA, to subdue
humanity to the New Order.
The only thing that remains for them is to limit themselves to their
own house. To wind up the show if they want to survive and the country
does not dissolve into independent statelets with unknown
consequences...
Osama bin Laden: US changes account of al-Qaida leader's death
US counter-terrorism officials correct earlier claims that al-Qaida chief fired a weapon and that his wife was killed

The US has backed away from its initial account of the killing of Osama bin Laden, which claimed that the al-Qaida leader was carrying a weapon and fired at US troops before he was shot dead.
On Monday, John Brennan, a counterterrorism adviser to Barack Obama, said Bin Laden was "engaged in a firefight" with his assailants and he did not know if he "got off any rounds". Other US officials briefed that he was firing at members of the US navy's elite Seal Team Six.
However, subsequent briefings by US officials suggest that, when confronted at the high-security complex in Abbottabad, Bin Laden did not have a weapon and did not fire at his assailants. With some questions being raised as to why Bin Laden was shot dead, and whether he was executed, rather than taken into custody, Brennan said: "If we had the opportunity to take Bin Laden alive, if he didn't present any threat, the individuals involved were able and prepared to do that."
Officials have continued to imply he offered resistance before he was shot but have not clarified the extent of that resistance, given that he apparently did not have a weapon. Bin Laden was shot once above the left eye and once in the chest. The Obama administration is considering whether to release photographs of his burial at sea.
There were additional changes to the original narrative offered by US officials. Reporters were initially told that one of Bin Laden's wives was killed while he was using her as a human shield, prompting headlines such as "Osama bin Laden killed cowering behind his 'human shield' wife". But it has since been clarified that Bin Laden's wife was shot in the calf and did not die in the assault, although another woman was killed. This change of account has also raised questions over whether Bin Laden's wife - or anyone else - was being used as a human shield.
One US official told Politico: "Two women were shot here. It sounds like their fates were mixed up. This is hours old and the full facts are still being ascertained as those involved are debriefed."
As well as amending the condition of Bin Laden's wife, US officials have also changed the name of which of his sons was killed during the raid. The dead son was initially named in press reports as Hamza, described in one article as Bin Laden's "presumed heir" to the leadership of al-Qaida, apparently based on the official White House transcript of a Brennan briefing. However, Brennan said during the briefing that it was another son, Khalid, who was killed.
Qualifying the narrative of the assault that he offered to reporters, Brennan explained that some of the information came from live video feeds of the raid. "I wasn't there," he said.

A woman killed during the raid of Osama bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan was not his wife and was not used as a human shield by the al Qaeda leader before his death, a U.S. official said on Monday, correcting an earlier description.
John Brennan, President Barack Obama’s top counter- terrorism adviser, told reporters earlier that the slain woman had been one of bin Laden’s wives and had been used — perhaps voluntarily — as a shield during the firefight.
However, a different White House official said that account had turned out not to be the case. Bin Laden’s wife was injured but not killed in the assault.

Israeli F-15 fighter jets (file photo)
Israeli jet fighters have reportedly conducted drills at a military base in Iraq in order to strike targets inside Iran.
A considerable number of Israeli warplanes were seen at al-Asad base in Iraq, reported a source close to prominent Iraqi cleric Muqtada al-Sader's group.
The aircraft reportedly included F-15, F-16, F-18, F-22, and KC-10 jet fighters.
The warplanes carried out their week-long exercises at nights, the same source added.
The drills were reportedly aimed at preparing to strike Iran's air defense systems, disrupt Iran's radars and attack targets deep inside Iran.
Iraqi officials had not been notified of the exercises, which were conducted in collaboration with the US military.
The United States maintains numerous bases in Iraq, and the Baghdad government is not involved in any of the military deployments taking place there.

1) You have just watched a dead man being re-killed. OBL died a long
time ago but for various reasons he had to be re-killed in
virtual reality. (He probably died from Marfan Syndrome some time ago
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marfan_syndrome)
Adam Curtis makes some suggestions about OBL's symbolic value:
"Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present
controls the past." George Orwell 1984
2) The specfic timing of the re-death were: President Obama's falling
ratings, US economic crisis, the "birther" issue, the failure
of the Obama administration to make sense of the "Arab Spring": eg:
the totally incoherent bombing of Libya, the opportunity to pull out
troops from Afghanistan quickly and save money, the Raymond Davis
crisis with Pakistan
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/pakistan/8340999/Raymon d-Davis-was-acting-head-of-CIA-in-Pakistan.html
, and a rumoured new alliance between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia .....and a
mountain of other problems facing America .... but there will
definitely be a short term "sugar high" feelgood factor for the Obama
administration and the American Establishment.
Meanwhile we are being prepped for a false flag nuclear attack:
If you believe the official story of this re-death then you have to
believe OBL could live for years in Attobad (the Pakistani equivalent
of Sandhurst and West Point) and his presence went undetected by the
Pakistani ISI or the army for years (and this information never got
back to the CIA). This is of course ridiculous and only a child who
wanted to believe in fairy tales could believe this BS. You also have
to believe that America would not want to question OBL when he did not
put up a fight (as the new story from the White House tells us that
OBL did not put up a fight and offered no resistance). He was
apparently executed without an interview and then his body was buried
at sea without an independent autopsy!
Expect a photo and video of a dead OBL to be released soon by the CIA.
This will prove nothing.
The whole world is laughing at this ridiculous story.
I bet it took place, I bet it just wasn't Osama, remember the Indian Anti Terror head targeted in Mumbai?
