Bliar faces new war challenge

Mr Keys, a 54-year-old former paramedic who stood against Tony Blair in Sedgefield at the general election, is at the centre of moves to form a new political movement aimed at bringing down ministers who failed to vote against the war in Iraq.

A lady who spoke at demonstration in London (who lost her son in Iraq I think) mentioned the creation of this new party and she said she would fight to have Blair locked up.

Strange they are not standing particularly against Conservatives, the traditional warmongers. At least a huge percentage of Labour MPs voted against going to war and a couple of ministers resigned in protest. There was no opposition to war from the Conservatives with who's total support Tory Bliar was able to get a majority in Parliament to vote in favour.

I wonder if they will be selective and only stand against Labour MPs who DID vote in favour? What a state of affairs if Labour MPs who voted agaist war are ousted from their seats in favour of Conservatives who almost inevitably would favour it. Typical of the topsy turvey politics we have in the UK where 22% of the vote gets a large majority in Parliament. Still Bliar will fix it with Proportional Representation! Or is that yet another promise he has broken.

Is it just a coincidence that the name of this new party, Spectre is an anagram of Respect? Maybe they are having a dig.
