Report from Crimes of the One Percent Conference, Saturday March 17.

The conference went well, although not without skype glitches.

We filled the Friends House Small Hall, payments from attendees covered the room hire, and most important of all there was a great atmosphere with people of quite a wide range of viewpoints in a co-operative and positive mood.

We will be putting the main elements of the conference up on Youtube as soon as we can, but we are all a little tired just now. Look out for a fuller report later with some of the points speakers made.

Ian Henshall, one of the organisers is slated to be on the Seve Berry show on Talksport radio this evening (Sunday) to give a conference report. Depending on when it is aired it will be heard by 10's if not 100's of thousands.

We now know that, as the trauma of 9/11 diminishes with time, so does the psychological denial we have faced in the past. There is no shortage of academics and activists willing to work with Reinvestigate 911 on the Crimes of the One Percent Platform. If a campaign can be measured by the quality of its address book then ours is definitely doing well. Surprisingly, the thorniest debates about who to invite involved battle scarred people from the 9/11 sceptic community itself and not as you might expect from the new wave.

What next? Each time we do this it gets easier, but on the other hand it is always a lot of effort to organise and we would have liked to see a big rather than a small increase in paid attendance.

We will be looking at all the feedback over the next few days and have a meeting a week tomorrow. The sort of options we are considering are: another SCCADS type conference in September/October, a more academic conference to look at the criminology of the elite and/or the psychology of truth denial in the mainstream media, a switch to more frequent evening meetings in London, or an independent broadcasting initiative producing content to go out on Youtube and satellite TV.

If you are not on the activists list,t would like to attend this feedback and strategy meeting in London on Monday 26 and have something to offer (eg skills, contacts, money) please let me know.

On the subject of money, one supporter who cannot make it to meetings has kindly offered to pay a significant sum on a monthly basis. If you do by any chance have money but no time, we have several capable and energetic volunteers whose life would be massively improved by quite small amounts of dosh. As it says on the leaflets, Coffee Plant supports the campaign financially and claims tax relief for this sponsorship. Could you could do something similar?

Finally, a big thank you for all the efforts put it including Noel, Fran, Mark, Roy, Eleanor, Paul, Martin: not least for some two thousand leaflets effectively distributed and the corresponding positive feedback generated.

2. WHERE WE GO NEXT

The meeting at the Counting House on Monday 26 March assessed the feedback on the recent SCADS conference and discussed what Reinvestigate 911 should do next. The meeting was attended by Ian, Noel, Fran, Teddy and Roy with written feedback from quite a few more. We all agreed that interviewing by live Skype link is risky and that in future we would aim to pre-record interviews, giving us time to iron out any problems and perhaps engage in a little editing.

So far the consensus on what to do next seems to be to hold a similar conference in the autumn, but there are other ideas afloat as well. The next meeting will be on April 16. Details will be sent out to the activists list, if you are not on that then please email your interests, time and skills to this address. We need to see how many willing people we have, what skills you have to offer and how much time you are willing to invest.

It would be great to have everyone willing to help at the April 16 meeting, it will be very much a practical meeting, a meeting for those willing to put in time and effort going forward.

This was also reported in the Daily Mail. In evidential terms it adds little to what we know already: that the CIA willfully obstructed efforts by other agencies and in effect allowed 9/11 to happen. However it shows what we are finding out in many areas: the fear of questioning authority on the absurd 9/11 official story is ebbing.


4. BBC CAMPAIGN MOVES TO BBC TRUST APPEAL: YOU CAN EASILY HELP

The BBC has to adhere to a ‘Royal Charter’ of being fair, balanced, impartial, and accurate in its reporting. If it fails to do this then there is a formal complaints process which must be adhered to. Over the past few months four individuals, including Civil Rights lawyer Paul Warburton’, have been challenging the BBC over its coverage of 9/11, with support from Michael Meacher MP.

The complaints have now moved through to the top levels of the BBC complaints process. We want to meet face to face with the BBC Trustees to discuss their concerns and to get the BBC to provide more balanced and accurate coverage of the issue of 9/11. We need you to email your support.
