Difficult to place this on a 9/11 site, but hopefully Moderators will accept it's relevance re 'Powers That Be' and mysterious harassment and untimely deaths of people who question them.

Though the guy died in 2006, I have only just become aware of it, when I started checking to find his current whereabouts with a view to contact him re 9/11 and other related subjects.

Here is his obit from the Telegraph; I think you will find it of interest:

There are a lot of farmers who understood this scenario as they also understood they had no power to determine what chemistry was injected into the animals under vaccination regulations. The fact his vet was killed to my mind shows the vet was onto this reality.

Unfortunately since the last outbreak of foot and mouth we no longer have any stock left with unaltered genetics to pursue this path of investigation as we lost most of the farmers with this train of thought as they went bust over the foot and mouth.

thanks for this Paul
yes I met up with Mark Purdey & recorded this disturbing interview with him back in 2001.
Lovely down to earth guy.
Saw him speak at a Green party meeting and he stood out head & shoulders above the rest of the conference

Mark Purdey's (who exposed BSE as a pesticide disease) veterinarian and lawyer were killed in car crashes, his new lawyer also had a car crash, but survived. Dr. C. Bruton, a CJD specialist -- who had just produced a paper on the a new strain of CJD -- was killed in a car crash before his work was announced to the public:

'Mark Purdey BSE & CJD: the chemical connection
Mark Purdey and the Mad Cows

By Claire W. Gilbert, Ph.D.
Copyright 1996

On May 5, 1996, I conducted a long distance telephone interview with Mark Purdey of Somerset, England. Purdey has published scientific papers on Mad Cow Disease and he has appeared on British television regarding the same. It was his TV appearance last year which prompted the November, 1995 cover of Blazing Tattles. His views are not mainstream because he sees an "intervening variable" of chemicals between the healthy cow and the mad cow. I had assumed incorrectly that the "prion protein" was a figment of scientific imagination, but according to Purdey there is such a thing. The question is how the prion protein becomes "incorrectly folded." Now, before the reader says "Whoa!," let me backtrack.

Of recent years, a disease has been observed among cattle. A sick cow drools, wobbles as if drunk, and has difficulty using its hind legs (if I have that right). Then one day it falls over dead. [The US version may be the "downer cow."] It has been found upon autopsy that their brains are not normal, and the disease is caused from an infectious agent. It was widely believed to be a slow incubating virus, but now some scientists believe it is caused from an almost indestructible protein molecule called a "prion." It was assumed humans could not catch this disease. It is an incorrectly folded prion protein molecule, according to Purdey. These incor- rectly folded molecules have an abnormal electrical charge which facilitate the neighboring prions to become incorrectly folded. These proteins are not destroyed by ordinary cooking and there is also no known remedy for the disease. Over a period of years, this process continues, until the cow falls ill.
Purdey believes that the cause of the problem is that a chemical gets into the brain and binds with the normal prions to produce abnormal ones. He believes it is a specific chemical called "phosmet" which does this. Phosmet is a combination of an organophosphate pesticide (OP) and thalimide (base of thalidomide) which is used against the warble fly in cattle. The phosmet is applied on the skin in an oily base, with the intent of it being taken into the skin, into the cow's body where the fly burrows in. According to Purdey, the warble fly actually lives in the cow nine months of the year. The OP plus thalimide initiates the prion change. Once changed, its electrical charge can trigger normal prion protein into abnormal form.

Purdey controls the warble fly with "derris root powder." It kills the warble fly and does not harm the cow -- it is not necessary to use phosmet to kill the warble fly.

It seems researchers in many fields who get onto something regarding toxic chemicals have bad things happen. Purdey's re- search that was contracted out to the Medical Research Council was intercepted by the government, and one trial was cancelled while the other was mysteriously changed. The chemical he designated for the experiment was altered and diluted. The results therefrom were weakened, although still was found a slight bond with the OG and the prion protein.

CROSSING THE SPECIES BARRIER

A big issue today is whether the mad cow disease could cross the species barrier and be transmitted to humans or between other animal species. There is an emerging view, based on a variety of correlations, that this is possible.

With respect to humans, there is a disease known as "CJD" which resembles Mad Cow Disease in that it has a long incubation period and when a fatality is autopsied, the human brain shows minuscule holes as does the cow's. The British believe it is caused from eating contaminated beef. CJD is an extremely rare illness and normally strikes only older people. More recently a second strain has emerged in which younger people have been affected.
But Purdey says that human cases can be caused from chemicals. He says there was a cluster of CJD in Kent, England. There were four cases in four small villages. These villages are ten miles downwind of a factory which manufactures phosmet. In 1986 they had a leak and the chemical went all around the countryside. The incubation period is ten years. He says there is another cluster of this very rare disease in Teeside, where another plant is located. His conclusion is that the second strain is caused from chemicals.

There's been another ominous story going around about hay mites infecting minks. Purdey says the mite prion which infected the minks was itself affected by the chemical.

COINCIDENCE OR CONSPIRACY?

I asked Purdey if it is true that both his veterinarian and his lawyer were killed in car crashes, and he confirmed this. His lawyer was run off the road by another car and died as a result of the accident. His new lawyer also had a car crash, but he survived. Purdey's house was burned down.

Purdey related that the scientist, Dr. C. Bruton died in a car crash. He had just produced a paper on a new strain of CJD. Bruton was a CJD specialist. Posthumously, his work was announced to the public. It is likely or at least possible that Bruton knew more than what was in the paper, said Purdey.

I asked Purdey if he thought the arrest and firing from his research position of the distinguished, US resident, Nobel Award CJD specialist, Dr. D.C. Gajdusek was also related to this mad cow situation. Purdey said that weeks before the arrest of Gajdusek Purdey was told by Ray Bradly of the Ministry of Agriculture that Gajdusek was seeking alternative hypotheses and specifically requested all of Purdey's papers. They were faxed to Gajdusek.'

Princess Diana And Jorg Haider Assassinated By Boston Brake
http://www.consciousape.com/2011/04/28/princess-diana-and-jorg-haider- assassinated-by-boston-brakes/

This method would help to explain Princess Diana's, Danny Jowenko's and many other 'mysterious' car crashes.
A similar system could explain some of the strange 'air crashes', like JFK's son's.

'Boston Brakes' is a fact, not a 'theory'. Whether it was used in these car crash cases is a 'theory', but a mighty good one in my opinion.

Mark was also going to write a book; he died before he could finish it, but his brother Nigel finished it and got it printed:
'Animal Pharm', by Mark Purdey.

It is a truly remarkable book, by a truly remarkable man.
The last chapter he had finished was on badger culling, which is in the news now.

Here is my Guardian comment:

'So far as I can see, no one has mentioned the work of Mark Purdey, the West Country farmer who challenged the Government and Establishment (Veterinarian and Big Pharma) re the cause of 'Mad Cow Disease', and also of badger culling.
It would not be strange if no one has heard of Mark Purdey; I remember when the Guardian and Independent were writing good articles about the terrible harassment he was getting, with no police response. When a guy was shooting over his property, he phoned the police, who told him 'Some people are paid to do that kind of thing'; on another occasion when the guy actually shot at the milking shed while Mark Purdey was inside, his wife phoned the local police, and she was told they could not do anything unless he was shot. Lots more extremely serious harrasment: one of his vet's had a fatal car 'accident'; his new one had another car 'accident', but survived. His solicitor had a fatal car 'accident'.
Mark sold up and bought another farm; just after he had sold up, the stranger who had bought a nearby house and done the shooting and other harassments, also sold up.
The night before Mark was due to move in to his new farm, the farmhouse burnt down. Police said it was an electrical fire; but the electricity was not connected.
On another occasion, the side of a new barn mysteriously collapsed, crushing a caravan that held his library.
He was writing a book, but dies of a brain tumor before he could finish it; his brother finished it.
It is called 'Animal Pharm', by Mark Purdey.
In the last chapter (before his brother Nigel finishes the book) is about the stupidity of culling badgers to stop cross-infection with TB. As he rightly explains, TB is virtually endemic in the soils, waters and atmospheres of ecosystems, where mycobacteria have co-existed with mammalian life for centuries.
The answer he believed was finding out what triggered the disease, and allowed the bacteria to flourish.
He did an experiment, where 5 cows who had 'reacted' to the initial TB test were fed an 'iron chelator' feed; a sixth animal, a beef steer that had also 'reacted', was not fed the mixture. On the next test, 4 of the five cows were declared TB-free by government vets; the 5th cow retained it's 'inconclusive' status, and the untreated steer was classed 'fully reactive' and was removed for slaughter.
Oddly enough, although the book is so important, there is NOT ONE copy in public libraries in Greater London! Obviously, there will be one in the British Library.
I hope some of the anti-culling campaigners have either read the book, or read it before the Commons debate.'

A little missive I have been sending out to concerned people who have, for one reason or another, expressed misgivings about the proposed badger cull:

In regard for your interest in the badger cull, below is some material I have copied from Mark Purdey's book, 'Animal Pharm'.
Hopefully, you will be able to use the information in furtherance of your misgivings about the cull.
He was very seriously harassed in life, as were people who collaberated with him (his lawyer and a vet died in mysterious car crashes; a second vet had a car crash, but survived. Three scientists working on TSE's met their deaths at a critical time of BSE outbreak.
There was much more, but I can't go into it all now.

As I believe you will agree, the book contains some very important work, and needs further follow-up research. Hopefully you will read his book. I suspect that it is blacklisted in libraries, because there is not one copy in the Greater London Library system (except obviously the British Library).

These are the last two paragraphs of Mark's book (just before Nigel's 'Afterword' and 'Appendix' chapters; Mark had not finished the book, and his brother finished it off from Mark's papers and preliminary work):

'But perhaps the most positive piece of news from behind the iron curtain of the TB hazard zone involves the results of some pilot studies I had conducted on a batch of 'inconclusive' TB-reactor cows on my farm. I had intensively fed these cows with a mineral protein formulation that was designed to chelate the iron and also to impair the uptake of iron into the cow.I was running this pilot experiment with the aim of starving the TB organism to death. The results so far have been encouraging, involving six inconclusive animals on my farm (five were milking cows) that had been fed the formulation during each milking over a one-month period. At the TB test last week, the government vets declared that four out of the five treated animals had recovered and reverted to the TB-free status, whilst the remaining one had retained her 'inconclusive' status. The sixth TB-inconclusive' animal, which was a beef steer and had never been fed the formulation, was found to have progressed to full 'TB reactor' status and is condemned to slaughter.
Whilst the positive results of this pilot study are not significant in scientific terms, because of the small number of animals involved, they indicate the likelihood that these 'inconclusive' cattle are no longer reacting to the TB test because they had been treated with a feed which chelates and competes for the iron. It is imperative that this investigation is advanced to the next stage and tested on a much larger group of animals'.

Here is some of his last work, copied from his book, regarding TB:

'Farmers had cut down on the so-called 'non-essential' lime and calcified seaweed fertilisers. This had been exacerbated by recent conservation measures that had debarred the harvesting of Cornish calcified seaweed altogether. This, together with general reduction in use of lime fertilisers, combined with recent increases in winter rainfall across the western UK had acidified the topsoil as a result. Other influences such as acid rain and continued use of so-called 'essential' artificial fertilisers will be playing a role in the acidification of agricultural ecosystems.
The pH of the soil on Mark's farm had dropped from an acceptable neutral 6 to an acidic 5 over three years.
Research has shown there is a correlation between areas of high mycobacteria incidence and regions where the soils are acidic.
This association is strengthened by the results of studies in which lime was spread on farms in Michigan that were suffering from high rates of mycobacterium infection (albeit the paratuberculosis strain of mycobacterium). The study concluded that the lime treatment had produced a tenfold reduction in the infection of cattle after a three-year period had passed....
The relevant issue in respect of TB infection and soil acidity hinges on the fact that acidification of the topsoil leads to an excessive accumulation of iron, particularly in the regions where soil iron is naturally elevated and rainfall is high. The iron is taken up into the herbage and percolates into local water supplies. Animals eat and drink of these high iron sources....
Interestingly, the key hot spots of bovine TB across the UK are the Forest of Dean, Exmoor, Cornwall, Devon and the Mendip Hills.
These regions all correlate with the areas where iron has been mined in abundance and rainfall is high....
Preliminary pasture sampling from the specific fields on Mark's own farm (June 2005) where the TB-reactors had been pastured has consistently demonstrated an excessive elevation of iron (average 378 mg/kg) in relation to levels of 143 mg/kg recorded three years previously.
This research is being expanded to cover TB-free and TB cluster areas of the UK.

(Devastatingly, Mark was diagnosed with a brain tumour in the run-up to Christmas 2005; his life was saved by an emergency operation at Frenchay Hospital on the 21st December 2005 - Mark had a great deal of praise for the neurosurgery and nursing care he received there. He went home to his farm, and gradually started to rebuild his life, but the cancer returned the next year, and he died on November 12th, 2006. I expect the research stopped with his illness and death - Paul).

Do any of you have the time and ability to write an 800-word review of Mark's book?
I have been invited to, but writing book reviews is not my forte.

Please PM me if you are interested.

Bit off subject, but I'm sure Mark would have approved; it's an online appeal to French farmers to abide by European law banning sow stalls:

www.ciwf.org.uk/NoStalling

Back on subject, you will hopefully be pleased to know the cull has been postponed till next summer, but the government are still intent on pushing it through.

I'm intent on stopping them, and have been waging an info-war, informing as many people as possible (principally movers and shakers)about Mark Purdey's book, and about his alternative view on how the TB outbreaks should be dealt with.
And I'm pleased to say, I have had some notable results.

Once I get a bee in my bonnet (I bet Mark would have had a cure for that, too!) I tend to keep doggedly on, often to ridiculous extremes, but we can't all be perfect!

Watch this space....

Perhaps you could educate us outsider on how you go about campaigning.

Excellent work.

-------------------

From a different perspective too, I like this.

Quote:

http://www.fordhallfarm.com/fordhall_farm.php?pid=9

Foggage Farming

Fordhall operates a system of outdoor grazing called 'Foggage Farming'. This means that our cattle and sheep live outdoors throughout the year, eating nothing but grass. It is a Permaculture based system developed by the late Arthur Hollins, as he tried to move the farm away from a reliance upon costly outside inputs.

The system relies on a diversity of grasses and herbs in our pastures - last year over 45 were spotted! This variety provides a healthy diet for our livestock and the tight root structure of our permanent pasture means that our livestock can be wintered outdoors without ruining (or poaching) the ground.

Fordhall consists of both wetland meadows and sandy hills, this allows the livestock to be rotated around the farm throughout the year; grazing the wetlands during the drier summer months and moving to the sandy hills near the farm for the wetter winter months.

We do have to supplement with some additional hay in the height of the winter, and Ben is able to cut this from a traditional hay meadow he rents from Shropshire Wildlife Trust near Whitchurch.

This system means that Fordhall does not have to rely on buying lots of dry feed during the winter months, providing a degree of shelter from market forces as well as a healthier diet for the livestock. The compromise is that our cattle and sheep grow slightly slower than the grain fed animal, however the flavour that develops within the meat is unrivalled and they are living the way nature intended.

To compliment this system our cattle calve only in the spring. This means that we never calve in the autumn, so that no cows are trying to feed young stock through the winter as well as themselves. Similarly, the sheep lamb slightly later in the year, beginning at the middle-end of March; again as the fresh grass is beginning to show, allowing the mothers to develop plenty of milk to feed their newborn.

This system is sustainable, healthy for the livestock and low in embedded energy. For more information on the benefits of grass fed meat see the Soil Associations recent report on Carbon and Farming, or for more information on the health benefits follow the link http://www.mercola.com/beef/health_benefits.htm.

For more information on the development of Fordhall's Organic Farming System download the leaflet below. This was written by the late Arthur Hollins in the late 1980's.

Have you seen the BBC documentary 'A Farm for the Future'? This fantastic film by Rebecca Hosking tries to find an answer for producing food in a world that can not be reliant on oli. Rebecca visits many farms across the UK, including Fordhall. To watch the film, follow the link to YouTube below:

@ Andrew:
'Perhaps you could educate us outsider on how you go about campaigning.'

I emailed 28 of 30 signers of an Observer letter against the cull (all Prof.'s and Vets), all MP's listed as going to vote against the cull (150) that I could find emails for (a few were only available through the 'They Work For You' route, which requires a postcode check, so I left them out), all the Animal Rights organisations and all the Farming Magazines etc I could find.
I had some very good responses; many people thanked me for the info.
I'm still working on it.
