LOL

it's "explosives in fizzy drinks bottles now"

All those little bubbles masking those nasty liquid explosives.

I for one am selling my Lucozade shares immediately.

Chertoff in a US Homeland Security briefing has just made an unfounded link, yet again, to Al-CIA-da - this is the FIRST briefing and they already ensure they begin the brainwashing meme's.

Homeland Security:

"plot was well planned and well advanced"

"believe plot was linked to Al-Qaeda" or "was suggestive of an Al-Qaeda plot"

"temporarily banning all liquids in hand luggage"

"sending federal air marshals to UK" (I feel so much safer already lol...)

"taking every step to thwart terror"

"people of both countries and people of the world are safer" (tell that to the citizens of Lebanon!!)

"Guidelines for choosing films

Laughter works as medicine

Laughter can create distance from problems, and enhance a sense of wellbeing: Scientific research has proven what many have held intuitively for a long time: laughter can lead to an increase in activity in the immune system (T cells, immunoglobulin A and G, gamma interferon, and Natural Killer Cells). Laughter can also decrease stress hormones, which constrict blood vessels and suppress hormone activity (epinephrine and dopamine)."

Original Article: http://www.cinematherapy.com/choosing.html

So there you go....if all this threat of terrorism is stressing you out: take yourself off to the movies for a little stress relief. Sorry, "CINEMATHERAPY" !!

Just so happens there's a brand new release which consolidates the original govenment nutjob version of the 9/11 events.......

Baaaaack to sleep, sheeple.

A little addition:

Early reports stated that Blair and Bush were aware of this last week.

Now Homeland Security have just stated that "this came as a surprise"

Erm, make up your minds people...

Also, Homeland Security say that

"normally a roll out of the security equipment and procedures would take weeks, this was done in four hours"

Hmmm

And,

"the terrorists had accumulated the material and were well on the way to executing that plot."

I suppose they had to wait for Reid to inform us yesterday we should expect to lose more freedom before they presented us with another reason.

It's an easy bet what they'll "find" at the High Wycombe and/or Wardsley Green houses:

Fizzy drinks bottles.

Liquid explosives.

Korans.

Credit Card bills detailing bulk fizzy drink purchases.

Books such as:

"Concealing Liquid Explosives in Fizzy Drinks Bottles for Dummies"

"How to identify the patsies in the departure lounge with the detonators"

"Baby Milk: A Terrorists Guide"

Damn I'd forgotten about that one. Their stupidity is astounding. Sadly, the general public will eat this up once again...

More "breaking news" from CNN:

"Some of the flights involved in the plot to blow up trans-Atlantic planes in mid-air would have been going from the United Kingdom to New York, Washington, D.C., and California, a U.S. government official said"

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/08/10/us.security/index.html

So, how come the US audience gets the details of the flight destinations and we do not ?

SKY has repeated the Al Qaeeda claim.

The FOX website quoting from an anonymous official. They are saying it was up to SIX planes.

Also

'Officials on the condition of anonymity said there could be up to 50 people involved in the plot.'

'The terrorists were targeting United, American, Continental airlines, two U.S. counterterrorism officials say. But anonymous sources later told FOX News that British airlines were also being targeted.'

'A U.S. intelligence official said the plotters had hoped to target flights to major airports in New York, Washington and California, all major summer tourist destinations'

'One British police spokesman said the attacks were planned to happen at the same time.

"These were (to be) simultaneous attacks on multiple targets, targeting aircraft bound for the United States," the spokesman said on condition of anonymity in line with force policy'

'The country's police anti-terrorist chief, Peter Clarke, said the investigation — which reportedly culminated over several months — reached a critical point Wednesday night, and forces realized urgent action needed to be taken.

“We have been looking at meetings, movements, travel, spending and the aspirations of a large group of people," Clarke said. He said the number, destination and timing of the flights that may have been targeted remained under investigation. "As is so often the case in these investigations, the alleged plot has global dimensions'

'A senior U.S. counterterrorism official said authorities believe dozens of people — possibly as many as 50 — were involved in the plot, which "had a footprint to Al Qaeda back to it." The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation'

That's a LOT of anonymity!!! Even by todays standards!

Laughing Fair enough!
I suppose it was only a matter of time before the old 'links to al-qaeda' storyline came out. Predictable I must say.
This story they've came up with is really poor...as some of you have said earlier in the thread, if the 'terrorists' really wanted to do some damage there's far easier ways to do it than the old plane idea.
I wonder what they'll come up with next Confused

This is no coincidence. Their psychological plan is exactly that.

Its all about degrading and humiliating people, to get us used to having no rights and being ordered around in our controlled lives.

When you give up liberty you don't get freedom you get tyranny.

If anyone has any doubts as to the success of this little operation this morning, check out the following on the Sky News website:
http://skynews.typepad.com/my_weblog/2006/08/a_major_terrori.html#comm ents

I have to warn you, though, you may want to throw yourself out of the window after reading it. Racist, ignorant, uninformed, and violent - those words don't even come close to covering it.

I'm an optimistic sorta guy by nature, but if these are the kinds of people we have to win over, then we've got a tough job ahead folks.

Fliagecop - thanks for the link

I particluarly like this one:

Why on earth are some people so blind that they think this as a cover up just to frighten us into thinking we need to have more security??? This is a stupid stance to take.

The problem is we do need more security because of all of the barmy do-gooders we have in our society today. Why can't people get on with living their own lives instead of interfearing with how everyone else goes about their business?

Nobody with any sense what so ever can honestly say they believe that the security services would go out of their way to disrupt millions of people trying to go about their every day travelling arrangements.

Fantastic! These are the top 2 readres recommended posts on the BBC Have Your Say forum.

Added: Thursday, 10 August, 2006, 08:37 GMT 09:37 UK

Funny how this comes after Reid's speech yesterday. I bet that no-one from the handful arrested will be charged. Funny how they know there's a threat that they've been monitoring for months and yet they have a scatter-gun approach in disrupting every airport. While I appreciate there may be terrorist threats I remain very skeptical - the tactics seem more a ploy to keep the public in fear rather than a genuine attempt to stop an attrocity.

If the plot has been foiled, then why the panic at Heathrow? Is it just because its August, and there is no industrial action planned, so we have to maintain the tradition of holiday disruption, or is it more a case of the Government wanting us to remain in such a state of permanent fear that they can legitimise the passage of further legislation that infringes our centuries-old civil rights?

I find this whole state of panic rather pathetic and quite sad.

Will be interesting to see how the public reaction is played out on the 'news'.
