There are a number of things that are very bad for peoples health. Obviously we started by discussing mobile phone masts. But overhead pilons fall into the same catergory.
Mobile phone masts are bad for peoples health and should eb sited away from residential areas and schools.

As far as smoking, well if a person wants to do it they can, but it is the ones who dont want to do it and had to endure others smoking that is what has recently been changed for the better. After 10 years of Labour government they finally do something i agree with.

But there are very real health dangers of microwave ovens, of certain food adiitives such as MSG, or certain water additives such as flouride and oestrogen. Margerine too. I got rid of my microwave, thus avoiding exposing my food to mutation. And also avoiding microwaves in takeaways and restaurants. Because your average Indian restaurant uses the microwave and lots of food colourings so should be avoided.

The argument that people smoke and lived to be a hundred is not a valid argument. Those people were not eating food cooked in microvwaves packed full of MSG and chemicals and margerine. You will always find that people who lived long and healthy depite smoking did so because of diet. Strong tea, fruits, nuts, seeds, vegetables, whatever, there was something specific in their diets that protected them from the obvious and proven harmful effects of smoking.

Nobody has yet answered whether it is legal to grow you own tobacco. I know a horticulturist who does grow it, but i dont know whether the taxman will want to levy a duty. I think it would be better if people did grow their own because mostly it is the gunpowder and arsenic that causes cancer rather than the raw tobacco.

Drinking is another problem today. 24 hours offlicences and some pubs open till 6am. Drinking in moderation is fine but government by keeping prices low and allowing easy access keeps alcohol trendy and the norm. Go to tesco and you can buy a case of 24 beers for £10. That is cheaper than a wholesale cash and carry sells it. So in actual fact publicans are better off going to Tesco to buy their stock.

It is now inconceivable that our world could function without the 5 billion cell phones used globally. The new book by Devra Davis “Disconnect” deserves your attention. Indeed, if you use a cell phone a lot it should be mandatory reading.

It also seems inconceivable that the trillion dollar cell phone industry and governments worldwide could have pushed this technology without ever having solid research results proving the safety of cell phones. If true that would be deadly frightening. But that is exactly the reality.

Is this a bizarre slip up or an intentional conspiracy between corporate and government interests? The more you learn the more you fear. Nightmarishly, cell phone technology has become too big to fail, no matter its deadly risks. Government won’t protect you, so you have to protect yourself.

Let me note that I rarely use my cell phone. Very few people have my number and I rarely turn it on, except when I need to make a call. As a former professor of engineering I have always seen technology as offering risks, not just heavily commercialized benefits. The risks are often dismissed, poorly studied or just plain ignored.

And by now everyone should be concerned that neither government regulations nor corporate responsibility protect us very well from harmful foods, prescription drugs and manufactured products.

Facing the truth is often painful, but if you care about protecting your health and the health of people you love, then this is a book you definitely want to read and get others to read. Make no mistake, what you learn will upset you, but beyond getting angry at companies and the government for not adequately protecting against a man made public health disaster, you will be motivated to change your behavior. The subtitle sums up the theme: The Truth About Cell Phone Radiation, What the Industry Has Done to Hide It, and How to Protect Your Family.

Here are some of the eye-popping facts and insights I picked up from reading of this book.

Tests show young men who keep their phones in a pants pocket have reduced sperm counts.

Some scientists have, for decades, known about the adverse effects that radiofrequency causes in the brain. For example, radiofrequency allows chemicals and toxins from the blood, which are normally kept away from the nervous system, to enter the brain and cause disease.

The work of Dr. Lennart Hardell in Sweden should make cell phone users reconsider their practices. Swedes who have used cell phones the most and for the longest times have more malignant brain tumors than others. After a decade of use the risk of brain tumors is doubled. Similar results were found by scientists in Israel , Finland , Russia and England . Hardell has also found that teenagers using cell phones end up after a decade with four times more brain cancers.

The book highlights what the distinguished research scientist Dariusz Leszczynski said: “we clearly showed that radiation from a phone had a biological impact. After this work, which in fact repeated that of many others…the world could no longer pretend that the only problems with cell phones occurred after you could measure a change in temperature. This view was always mistaken, of course, and our work showed that.” In other words, much lower power than in microwave ovens does not mean the absence of effects on our bodies.

Davis makes the inescapable point at the end of the book that “we need to invest in cell phones’ safety as we do with other modern technologies.” But it is not clear whether that is proceeding as it should. Do you think industry and government will do the right thing and risk getting research results that could devastate cell phone usage? With corporate interests corrupting Congress it is highly unlikely that what is needed in terms of research and regulation will happen.

What should cell phone users do? They and children in particular should not be using cell phones without "ear buds." They should not keep cell phones that are turned on in their clothing next to their body. Use the speaker option. Recognize that texting and other phone functions can be less dangerous than holding a phone next to your head to hear. Remember that cordless phones also pose similar radiation hazards, so minimize their use at home.

I wonder whether the richest and most powerful people in society, like President Obama (and his children), have been strongly advised to not hold cell phones next to the head.

Bottom line: Your addiction to cell phone use just might be your downfall. How much risk do you want to take? Smart phones are the rage. Now we need a lot more smart people. Disconnect. The more you use your cell phone, the more trapped you are.

A Police helicopter arrived overhead here in Accrington and Sky TV went off and continued intermittently for a period of one and a half hours.

Friday 26 November 2010

A Police helicopter arrived over Accrington and again the Sky TV went off and continued to shift intermittently for a similar period. It was also noted that after the helicopter left the area, the interference continued for some 40 minutes.

We are aware British Intelligence are forming their Tetra grid across the country, this is being formed in absolute secrecy as the FOI request I made to Hyndburn Council and the Planning Department in relation to white tipped masts popping up in and around Hyndburn, basically they refused to give any information at all.

Could you please provide the planning approval documentation for the two masts.

I note another of these white masts has appeared on Fern Gore shop terrace, could you please provide the same for this particular mast also.

I assume the planning department have data as to the technology specifications of these masts, could you please provide a copy of such.

Interesting at this juncture is the fact all FOI requests made are subject to the FOI Act, guarded by the Information Commissioners Office who we have found to be a fraudulent organisation as is the Parliamentary Ombudsman, basically these operations are there to ensure the state does not comply with FOI and gets away with the same.

From this reality we can conclude the Labour government under Blair set forth the FOI Act in order the state can control all requests by lagging in time and answering on the side of the Departments in receipt of the FOI requests.

So FOI is a game, and as such I would advise people who wish to gain information from our civil service departments to make the request outside of FOI, thus placing the department you are requesting the information from in its correct order and outside of the Statute FOI Act. Basically outside of FOI the civil service must act on all requests made by a taxpayer without the Statute having any teeth, they must also answer in full.

It is our right as taxpayers to have all civil departments answer any and all questions we make given they ultimately work for us, going under FOI places the civil departments under the ACT itself and thus the government strategem.

We know the Police Constables have and continue to suffer bad illness from their use of the Tetra system, yet still this grid expands, we also know the Tetra system operates very close to the frequency at which the human brain operates, so not only can we show interference with the Sky TV frequencies, we are now better informed at the fact, Sky also operates at the same frequency as the human brain…the two are obviously connected which suggests the Tetra grid is larger than first anticipated and incorporates the satellite grid.

It would seem the Tetra interference with Sky TV, has a direct correlation to the arrival of these huge masts being placed in the centre of populated areas, this then suggests that with the arrival of the masts the Tetra frequencies have been amplified across populated areas….Why?

We also know that Accrington has for many years played the host to national police and Intelligence drills, Accrington being a blueprint for the many industrial towns in the north of England.

With this in mind I suggest that what is being implemented in Lancashire, specifically Accrington, is a beta test from which the whole nation will follow.

More than this is the fact Lancashire has been earmarked to become a wi-fi capital…is this wi-fi a cover for the implementation of the full Tetra grid system?

In a study carried out in Holland, it was found that the wi-fi frequencies are effecting the trees in a negative way and perhaps the reason Lancashire has suffered the loss of many of our deciduous trees replaced with fir trees, could there be a connection here? though research has also found Fir trees to be suffering.

Behind the photo we have the shops and a place many school children gather during school time, Fern Gore estate is behind the shops.

You can also catch a glimpse of Mount Carmel High School to the right of the picture.

This area has not suffered any kind of bad reception for mobile phones at all given further right and out of site there is a multiple transmitter mast to the back of the Globe playing fields, again frequented by children, so why would the mobile network require this mast? It does not make sense which suggests these masts are not fore the use of the mobile network.

This mast is clearly claimed to be the property of Vodafone, we also know the entire phone network is Military Intelligence, so this removes nothing of the suspicion I believe we should allow to grow in relation to this technology very sneakily taking root in deeply populated areas especially it would seem aimed at children.

Trees and Microwave Technology

In the book Electromagnetic Environments and Health in Buildings we find :

The Skrunda Radio Location Station (RLS), which has operated continuously for more than 20 years, has created a unique area for the study of pulse radio-frequency electromagnetic field effects. Trees were chosen to assess these effects. Since 1990, permanent plots have been established in pine forest stands around the Skrunda RLS and in control areas. The dynamics of tree growth changes were analysed using retrospective tree ring data. There is a statistically significant (P < 0.01) negative correlation between the relative additional increment in tree growth and the intensity of the electric field. The radial growth of pine trees has diminished in all plots that received electromagnetic radiation. This decrease in growth began after 1970, which coincided with the start of operation of the Skrunda RLS, and was subsequently observed throughout the period of study. The effects of many other environmental and anthropogenic factors were evaluated, but no significant effects on tree growth were observed.

If this is so, then Intelligence has known of this problem with the deciduous trees, and perhaps to cover such frequency pollution have gone all out to remove the trees ensuring their is no data collected which would place this technology in a bad light, it would also suggest how long this agenda has been in the pipeline.

In Accrington we have noted the fact that after the implementation of Statutes governing the humble tree, though the people are restricted in what they can do with a tree, the council and its sub contractors are not.

So much so we have caught in the act on numerous occasions, so called tree doctors cutting down perfectly healthy deciduous trees for the council, making big money from the wood.

If this grid is fully implemented, then there will be no escape from the frequency interference, save for lead lined rooms, and given this Tetra Grid operates at almost the same frequency as the brain, It does not take much to shift this frequency at will, then we are in big trouble.

One more point here…we are being led to believe the country has no money, were is the money coming from to fund such elaborate and dangerous grid systems…and who exactly do they serve…and for what purpose?

Echelon is looking like the prime target as to what this grid system actually is, so we are witnessing the means to Intelligence having complete control over the entire landmass of the globe through this Tetra microwave grid system, and do you know what….? I think it wise to consider what use could be made of this by the drones being drilled in Afghanistan-Pakistan and currently in use by the British Police.

There is of course another far more terrifying possibility for this technology

Italian court rules ‘mobile phones can cause brain tumors’
The Italian Supreme Court has ruled there is a causal link between mobile phone use and brain tumors in a landmark case. The ruling has set a legal precedent that could potentially trigger a deluge of lawsuits.
Innocente Marcolini, a 60-year-old retired businessman argued that the excessive use of his mobile phone for around six hours every day for 12 years caused a benign brain tumor that left his face partially paralyzed.
The Italian court ruled in the businessman’s favor, conceding that there is a “causal link” between phone use and the development of the tumor.
"This is significant for very many people. I wanted this problem to become public because many people still do not know the risks,” said Marcolini to Corriere della Sera. “I was always on the phone for at least five or six hours a day. Always with a mobile pressed to my ear.”
Marcolini’s tumor was located on the trigeminal nerve, close to where his cellphone touched his head. Although the tumor was non-cancerous, it endangered his life as it could have spread to the carotid artery and blocked one of the main blood vessels to the brain.
In his case he argued that the electromagnetic radiation emitted by cellphones can damage cells, making tumors more likely to occur.
Oncologist and professor of environmental mutagenesis Angelo Gino Levis, who gave evidence during the court hearing, said that the ruling was “extremely important.”
“Finally a correlation has been officially recognized between electromagnetic waves and development of tumors in spite of the anti-alarmist propaganda and research financed by mobile phone manufacturers,” Levis told the Corriere. He stressed that after working on several case studies the relationship between the use of mobile phones and the increased risk of brain tumors is proven.
"It'll open, not a road, but a motorway to legal actions by victims. We're considering a class action,” Levis told UK newspaper The Sun.
Other experts have been more cautious over the case. Silvio Garattini, Director of the Institute of Pharmacological Research said that at the moment there is no concrete evidence that proves the link between tumors and cellphone use. Garattini said “the court sided with the aggrieved because they were uncertain.”
Currently the World Health Organization classifies mobile phones as “carcinogens” and lumps them into the same category as coffee and pesticides.

It allows the toxins and poisons out and the good bits in. It keeps the toxins in the blood out and keeps them from poisoning the brain.

'Carcinogens in microwaved food

In Dr. Lita Lee's book, Health Effects of Microwave Radiation - Microwave Ovens, and in the March and September 1991 issues of Earthletter, she stated that every microwave oven leaks electro-magnetic radiation, harms food, and converts substances cooked in it to dangerous organ-toxic and carcinogenic products. Further research summarized in this article reveal that microwave ovens are far more harmful than previously imagined.

The following is a summary of the Russian investigations published by the Atlantis Raising Educational Center in Portland, Oregon. Carcinogens were formed in virtually all foods tested. No test food was subjected to more microwaving than necessary to accomplish the purpose, i.e., cooking, thawing, or heating to insure sanitary ingestion. Here's a summary of some of the results:
•Microwaving prepared meats sufficiently to insure sanitary ingestion caused formation of d-Nitrosodienthanolamines, a well-known carcinogen.
•Microwaving milk and cereal grains converted some of their amino acids into carcinogens.
•Thawing frozen fruits converted their glucoside and galactoside containing fractions into carcinogenic substances.
•Extremely short exposure of raw, cooked or frozen vegetables converted their plant alkaloids into carcinogens.
•Carcinogenic free radicals were formed in microwaved plants, especially root vegetables. Decrease in nutritional value.

Russian researchers also reported a marked acceleration of structural degradation leading to a decreased food value of 60 to 90% in all foods tested. Among the changes observed were:
•Deceased bio-availability of vitamin B complex, vitamin C, vitamin E, essential minerals and lipotropics factors in all food tested.
•Various kinds of damaged to many plant substances, such as alkaloids, glucosides, galactosides and nitrilosides.
•The degradation of nucleo-proteins in meats.

Microwave sickness is discovered

The Russians did research on thousands of workers who had been exposed to microwaves during the development of radar in the 1950's. Their research showed health problems so serious that the Russians set strict limits of 10 microwatts exposure for workers and one microwatt for civilians.

In Robert O. Becker's book, The Body Electric, he described Russian research on the health effects of microwave radiation, which they called "microwave sickness." On page 314, Becker states:

"It's [Microwave sickness] first signs are low blood pressure and slow pulse. The later and most common manifestations are chronic excitation of the sympathetic nervous system [stress syndrome] and high blood pressure.

This phase also often includes headache, dizziness, eye pain, sleeplessness, irritability, anxiety, stomach pain, nervous tension, inability to concentrate, hair loss, plus an increased incidence of appendicitis, cataracts, reproductive problems, and cancer. The chronic symptoms are eventually succeeded by crisis of adrenal exhaustion and ischemic heart disease [the blockage of coronary arteries and heart attacks]."

According to Dr. Lee, changes are observed in the blood chemistries and the rates of certain diseases among consumers of microwaved foods. The symptoms above can easily be caused by the observations shown below. The following is a sample of these changes:
•Lymphatic disorders were observed, leading to decreased ability to prevent certain types of cancers.
•An increased rate of cancer cell formation was observed in the blood.
•Increased rates of stomach and intestinal cancers were observed.
•Higher rates of digestive disorders and a gradual breakdown of the systems of elimination were observed.

Microwave research conclusions

The following were the most significant German and Russian research operations facilities concerning the biological effects of microwaves:

The initial research conducted by the Germans during the Barbarossa military campaign, at the Humbolt-universitat zu Berlin (1942-1943); and, From 1957 and up to the present [until the end of the cold war], the Russian research operations were conducted at: the Institute of Radio Technology at Kinsk, Byelorussian Autonomous Region; and, at the Institute of Radio Technology at Rajasthan in the Rossiskaja Autonomous Region, both in the union of the Soviet Socialist Republics.

In most cases, the foods used for research analysis were exposed to microwave propagation at an energy potential of 100 kilowatts/cm3/second, to the point considered acceptable for sanitary, normal ingestion. The effects noted by both German and Russian researchers is presented in three categories:

Category I, Cancer-Causing Effects

Category II, Nutritive Destruction of Foods

Category III, Biological Effects of Exposure

CATEGORY I

CANCER-CAUSING EFFECTS

3. Creation of a "binding effect" to radioactivity in the atmosphere, thus causing a marked increase in the amount of alpha and beta particle saturation in foods;

4. Creation of cancer causing agents within protein hydrolysate compounds* in milk and cereal grains [*these are natural proteins that are split into unnatural fragments by the addition of water];

5. Alteration of elemental food-substances, causing disorders in the digestive system by unstable catabolism* of foods subjected to microwaves [*the metabolic breakdown process];

6. Due to chemical alterations within food substances, malfunctions were observed within the lymphatic systems [absorbent vessels], causing a degeneration of the immune potentials of the body to protect against certain forms of neoplastics [abnormal growths of tissue];

7. Ingestion of microwaved foods caused a higher percentage of cancerous cells within the blood serum [cytomas - cell tumors such as sarcoma];

8. Microwave emissions caused alteration in the catabolic [metabolic breakdown] behavior of glucoside [hydrolyzed dextrose] and galactoside [oxidized alcohol] elements within frozen fruits when thawed in this manner;

9. Microwave emission caused alteration of the catabolic [metabolic breakdown] behavior of plant alkaloids [organic nitrogen based elements] when raw, cooked, or frozen vegetables were exposed for even extremely short durations;

10. Cancer causing free radicals [highly reactive incomplete molecules] were formed within certain trace mineral molecular formations in plant substances, and in particular, raw root-vegetables; and,

11. In a statistically high percentage of persons, microwaved foods caused stomach and intestinal cancerous growths, as well as a general degeneration of peripheral cellular tissues, with a gradual breakdown of the function of the digestive and execrative systems.

CATEGORY II

DECREASE IN FOOD VALUE

Microwave exposure caused significant decreases in the nutritive value of all foods researched. The following are the most important findings:
1.A decrease in the bioavailability [capability of the body to utilize the nutriment] of B-complex vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, essential minerals and lipotropics in all foods;
2.A loss of 60-90% of the vital energy field content of all tested foods;
3.A reduction in the metabolic behavior and integration process capability of alkaloids [organic nitrogen based elements], glucosides and galactosides, and nitrilosides;
4.A destruction of the nutritive value of nucleoproteins in meats;
5.A marked acceleration of structural disintegration in all foods.

CATEGORY III

BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF EXPOSURE

Exposure to microwave emissions also had an unpredictably negative effect upon the general biological welfare of humans. This was not discovered until the Russians experimented with highly sophisticated equipment and discovered that a human did not even need to ingest the material substance of the microwaved food substances: that even exposure to the energy-field itself was sufficient to cause such adverse side effects that the use of any such microwave apparatus was forbidden in 1976 by Soviet state law.

The following are the enumerated effects:
1.A breakdown of the human "life-energy field" in those who were exposed to microwave ovens while in operation, with side-effects to the human energy field of increasingly longer duration;
2.A degeneration of the cellular voltage parallels during the process of using the apparatus, especially in the blood and lymphatic areas;
3.A degeneration and destabilization of the external energy activated potentials of food utilization within the processes of human metabolism;
4.A degeneration and destabilization of internal cellular membrane potentials while transferring catabolic [metabolic breakdown] processes into the blood serum from the digestive process;
5.Degeneration and circuit breakdowns of electrical nerve impulses within the junction potentials of the cerebrum [the front portion of the brain where thought and higher functions reside];
6.A degeneration and breakdown of nerve electrical circuits and loss of energy field symmetry in the neuroplexuses [nerve centers] both in the front and the rear of the central and autonomic nervous systems;
7.Loss of balance and circuiting of the bioelectric strengths within the ascending reticular activating system [the system which controls the function of consciousness];
8.A long term cumulative loss of vital energies within humans, animals and plants that were located within a 500-meter radius of the operational equipment;
9.Long lasting residual effects of magnetic "deposits" were located throughout the nervous system and lymphatic system;
10.A destabilization and interruption in the production of hormones and maintenance of hormonal balance in males and females;
11.Markedly higher levels of brainwave disturbance in the alpha, theta, and delta wave signal patterns of persons exposed to microwave emission fields, and;
12.Because of this brainwave disturbance, negative psychological effects were noted, including loss of memory, loss of ability to concentrate, suppressed emotional threshold, deceleration of intellective processes, and interruptive sleep episodes in a statistically higher percentage of individuals subjected to continual range emissive field effects of microwave apparatus, either in cooking apparatus or in transmission stations.

Forensic Research Conclusions

From the twenty-eight above enumerated indications, the use of microwave apparatus is definitely not advisable; and, with the decision of the Soviet government in 1976, present scientific opinion in many countries concerning the use of such apparatus is clearly in evidence.

Due to the problem of random magnetic residulation and binding within the biological systems of the body (Category III:9), which can ultimately effect the neurological systems, primarily the brain and neuroplexuses (nerve centers), long term depolarization of tissue neuroelectric circuits can result. Because these effects can cause virtually irreversible damage to the neuroelectrical integrity of the various components of the nervous system (I. R. Luria, Novosibirsk 1975a), ingestion of microwaved foods is clearly contraindicated in all respects. Their magnetic residual effect can render the pyschoneural receptor components of the brain more subject to influence psychologically by artificially induced microwave radio frequency fields from transmission stations and TV relay-networks.

The theoretical possibility of psycho telemetric influence (the capability of affecting human behavior by transmitted radio signals at controlled frequencies) has been suggested by Soviet neuropsychological investigations at uralyera and Novosibirsk (Luria and Perov, 1974a, 1975c, 1976a), which can cause involuntary subliminal psychological energy field compliance to operative microwave apparatus.

'..I live in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, The People's Republic of China. Yunnan Province is one of the cleanest and most pristine areas of China ­ and Kunming City is also called the City of Eternal Spring since the weather here is quite pleasant throughout the year. However, it might as well be called "The City of The Silent Spring." It is eerily odd but this city is strangely devoid of bugs ­ I see virtually no insects in this city ­ except for the occasional mosquito or the occasional cockroach. No ants, no spiders, no butterflies, no bees, no flies, no caterpillars, and so on down the line. I also see virtually no birds ­ I look up in the sky and there are no birds traversing it. When I go to bed at night I do not hear the sounds of crickets; and when I wake up in the morning I do not hear the chirping sound of birds. And from what I can tell by reading media reports on the Internet, this phenomena of the sudden disappearance of life forms (insects, amphibians, fish, bats, birds, etc.) is happening all over the world. Just last year, the fact that there is (and has been) a worldwide die-off of bees was finally taken up by the media. The frogs have been dying for years ­ (although originally they were "mysteriously" showing up with deformities.) Now, just at the beginning of January 2008 a Swedish journalist sent me a report by the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) about the disappearance of tens of millions of birds across North America ­ "http://rawstory.com/rawreplay/?p=372"

'..In the UK, where the allowed radiation level is 20 times higher than in Spain, a decline of several species of urban birds has occurred, coinciding with the increasing installation of mobile phone masts. (ISIS 2007) Birds (and insects and other small animals) would naturally be the first to obviously be affected by this increase in ambient radiation since naturally they have smaller bodies and hence less flesh to be penetrated by exposure to microwaves. Birds are good candidates as biological indicators for low-intensity electromagnetic radiation (EMR); they have thin skulls, their feathers can act as dielectric receptors of microwave radiation, many species use magnetic navigation, they are very mobile and possible psychosomatic effects are absent, as Everaert and Bauwens point out. (ISIS 2007) Finally, chicken embryos exposed to microwave radiation from cell phones have shown both deformity and mortality.

'..At present, in the so-called "democratic" USA, the "Telecommunications Act of 1996" ­ an undemocratic and unconstitutional US law on the books ­ prohibits communities to legally object to the erection of cell phone towers on the basis of health or environmental concerns. This hence makes it against the law to try to protect one's heath or the health of the environment because our elected officials have found it more important to protect the mobile-phone industry's profits. The Act also specifically prohibits states and local governments from regulating the placement and construction of communications facilities, like antennas and towers, on the basis of the environmental effects of electromagnetic fields if the facilities meet FCC standards for emissions. The Act pays lip service to the importance of local zoning regulation, sufficient to encourage litigation, but without any genuine recognition of the importance of a homeowner's property values, peace of mind, and, particularly, health concerns. The Act denigrates health concerns by assuming that FCC standards for electromagnetic emissions will protect the public health. That assumption [was] premature, given the large amount of ongoing scientific research on the subject and the lack of clear conclusions. The Congressional Conference Report indicates that the Act preempts state and local regulation of the environmental effects of electromagnetic emissions when it has requirements beyond those of FCC rules. This preemption discourages states from doing their own research on the health effects of these emissions because they cannot rely on the results in formulating regulations. That result does a disservice to the public. The FCC, in promulgating its rules setting a specific absorption rate limit for electromagnetic emissions at four watts per kilogram, noted that research in this area related to human health and safety is ongoing and that changes to recommended exposure limits are possible in the future. With that admitted uncertainty, it is unreasonable to limit what states and local governments may do to protect their residents. (Martin) This extremely undemocratic law is outright morally wrong ­ and moreover is not only a clear violation of the right of every American to protect themselves, but also a clear violation of laws meant to protect our precious animals: (1) the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, (2) the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, and (3) the Endangered Species Act. Hence, on these grounds, it should be immediately and unconditionally rescinded. The evidence collected at this point that this technology is extremely harmful to both human and animal life on this planet is completely and utterly overwhelming ­ and this is in spite of the mobile-phone industry's attempt to control the government and to manipulate both the science and the media. To protect life on this planet ­ regardless of any economic concerns ­ these towers must be taken down now!..'

"Will the Communications Industry be the final straw for Our Planet's Ecosystems?"

'During a recent visit to Africa, a gentleman took me to a field full of plants and said "What do you hear Barrie?" I replied: "Nothing". He said: "Normally you and I would not be able to hear each other now, there would be so many bees buzzing, however, since that mobile phone transmitter went up, we haven't seen a single bee." I received other similar reports concerning bees, birds, even ants during my stay in Africa. It was explained to me that the ants are very important for their symbiotic relationship with plants. The plants produce a sweet substance to feed the ants and in return the ants prevent insects landing on and eating the plant's leaves. Hence, ants guarantee plant crop safety and harvest.

It appeared that the common denominator in all cases was the proximity of mobile phone transmitters transmitting low-level continuous microwaves with added modulations (pulses) causing cellular distress to species within range. Residents who complained were told that such installations were within 'International Safety Guidelines'; other residents were either totally ignored, mocked or ridiculed.

Yet proof of such effects from low-level microwave irradiation has been known to Government(s) and published since 1932. (1)By 1971 the US Naval Medical Research institute referenced 2300 research articles listing in excess of 120 illnesses from low-level microwaves. (2) This was reinforced by confirmation from the US Defence Intelligence Agency Documents from 1972-76. (3)

So what does all this have to do with bees, birds and ants? Well, quite a lot really.

Biologically, apart from some specialist organelles within the cytoplasm or the amount of genetic material etc, all animal and plant cells are very similar; in fact at the atomic and nuclear level, they are identical. Thus, if you are going to affect human cellular activity, you will inevitably affect other animal and plant cells from the same source. In this case according to Government reports, low-level microwave irradiation. The reader does not have to look far to discover that many experimental trials, evaluating harmful microwave levels, are carried out on animal cells / tissue first; or even live animals. These reference levels are then applied to human beings. Arguably the World's foremost scientific journal, 'Nature', published an article explaining how oscillating magnetic fields disrupt the magnetic orientation behaviour of migratory birds. (4) The frequencies referred to within this article are well within the modulation frequencies used by the mobile phone industry.

Dr Andrew Goldsworthy, retired Lecturer from Imperial College, London; extends this mechanism to speeches in his written 'comment': 'Establishing Why Bees Die Off' dated 13th January 2010.

Prof Karl Richter also extends this explanation and references the plight of bees subjected to such irradiation. He notes that these insects' immune systems seem to have collapsed with many bees suffering five to six infections simultaneously. Interestingly, suppression of the immune system is also described by the US Government as a symptom for humans exposed to low-level microwave irradiation. (5)

Similarly, Prof Ferdinand Ruzicka, who is a bee keeper himself, says: "The problem only appeared since several transmitters have been installed in the immediate proximity to my hives".

"Dragnose-Funk" continues: 'According to Ruzicka's observations, the bee colonies are so weakened by the mobile telecommunications radiation that they become more prone to various diseases.' (6)In his two-part, 13 page document, Guy Cramer includes the military and its Worldwide use of similar telecommunications transmitters as partly complicit to this cause for the demise of the bee population. In particular he singles out the US multi-transmitting towers in Alaska which can focus anywhere on the Planet by reflecting their transmissions off of the ionosphere. This is otherwise known as HAARP. (7)

Researchers like Colin Buchanan have actually outlined time-lines plotting the demise of bees and its relation to human induced electromagnetic radiation. (


Within my presentation to the beekeepers' association at Glastonbury in 2008, I referenced 14 articles explaining why the bees are particularly susceptible to microwave irradiation. I stressed that bees could be exposed to magnetic fields roughly 640 times more powerful than they normally encounter with the Earth's field. The consequences of this can be two-fold: i) the ferromagnetic compounds within their heads, thorax and abdomen can produce hysteresis loops affecting proprioception (spatial awareness); and ii) the very size of the bee's antennas, brain and body render it susceptible to resonance (unwanted vibrations). (9) Put simply, I would argue that the bee is disorientated with a failing immune system and like AIDS in humans will become victim of any infection(s) or infestation(s) which came along.

The reader will not be surprised to learn that there is a plethora of research data documenting ill-effects on virtually all animal species from insects to cattle, listing long-term low-level microwave irradiation as the cause. I will reference just a few of the many thousands that exist.

The Research Institute for Nature and Forest clearly state in their publication that '....long-term exposure to higher levels of radiation (GSM) negatively affects the abundance or behaviour of House Sparrows in the wild' (10)

Prof. Denis Henshaw references in excess of 8000 research articles describing low-level radiation and its effects on animal navigation, plants and health of the animal kingdom.

Prof. Henshaw states that in his estimation, less than 10% of the available scientific evidence is cited by official review bodies; also, in some areas, none of the literature has been cited. (12)

An article published in 'Microwave News' describes how low-level microwave radiation, when modulated, can cause nonthermal neurological effects in both humans and birds. Exactly what the US Government published thirty years earlier and seems to have been 'overlooked'. (13)

Internet researcher Sylvia Wright listed 27 peer reviewed studies showing effects, or possible effects, of low-level irradiation upon
seeds and plants. All of these papers had been published in scientific journals.(14)

Remembering that all planetary eco-environmental systems are interconnected, the monetary value of the World's ecosystems has
been estimated at 33 Trillion US Dollars annually. (15) With an understanding of the potential risk to nature; should the Global Telecommunications Industry cover our Planet with microwave transmitters, without further investigation or restriction? Could this potential financial loss be sustainable to many poorer countries?

The UK Government are advising populations to switch off all unnecessary lights, drive less, even restrict flying for holidays in order to reduce our carbon footprint. It has been estimated that the annual carbon footprint for the worldwide telecommunications industry is approximately 110.7 million tonnes of CO2 into our atmosphere. This is equivalent to the use of 29 million vehicles. Simultaneously all of our state schools are 'encouraged' to install wi-fi; virtually turning each school into a full-blown transmitter from the accumulative effect of microwaves. I find this a Governmental regulatory paradox. If for no other reason, than their total and absolute ambivalence on this matter! (16)

Are there solutions? Of course. In 2007 an international group of scientists studied 2000 peer reviews and published research papers. They recommended an acceptable level of radiation, based on the interaction between low-level microwaves and all known cellular processes. This became known as the bio-initiative level. (17)

The problem with this recommended level is that the telecommunications industry would suffer a reduction in profits. Consequently it is seldom adhered to.

There is a recent Legal Instrument. The European Parliament Guideline 2004/35/EG and advice from 21st April 2004, states that the 'causer pays the principle' for damage to animal, plants, natural habitats, water resources and soil. I must state here that I have no training in Law and should the reader wish to pursue this line of inquiry, expert international legal advice should be sought .

However, since September 1960, I have received several years of Governmental tuition on all aspects of microwave technology. At that time, microwave research was paramount Worldwide with many papers published; including dangers of irradiation to living tissues from very low-level microwaves.

Knowing what we were all taught in the 60s, forces me to question the total ambivalence of today's Governmental Advisers. The microwaves haven't changed, only the colour and shape of the box emitting them.

Opinion

Could all of this potential damage to the Planet's eco-systems be a result of nothing more than Blind Corruption and Intentional Ignorance from our decision makers? Or is it planned? After all, if a country loses most of its pollinating insects (which tend to pollinate Vitamin C type plants), the health and financial status of such a country could be in jeopardy. The 'causer' could then offer a solution - at a price!

An interesting observation may be to look at the countries suffering the most; and those sweeping across such lands, installing a myriad of transmitters.'

Another creature, which Barrie mentions as one of the many adversely affected, is the bat. There has been a huge die-off in the States, infected with 'white-nose syndrome' (WNS) caused by a fungus, 'Pseudogymnoascus (Geomyces) destructans'.
It is almost certain the fungus has been around for a very long time, but now that bats have such compromised immune systems, due to pesticides and microwaves, they are dying off.

Six years ago, Dr Erica Mallery-Blythe moved to the country, stopped carrying a mobile phone and sacrificed a successful career in emergency medicine to focus on a new medical interest – radiation emitted by Wi-Fi, mobiles and other wireless devices.

She is now one of the country’s few professional advisers on medical conditions related to radiofrequency (RF) radiation and other electromagnetic fields (EMFs).

“I was using wireless devices before most people I knew – I loved it,” says Mallery-Blythe, who was ahead of the tech trend even in 1985 when she was handed her first mobile phone, aged 10.

“But as soon as I started digesting the literature on EMFs it was a no-brainer,” she says of her decision to relinquish wireless gadgets.

“I wasn’t willing to take that kind of risk for something that was purely convenient.”

Her interest in EMFs started in 2009 after she began noticing increasing trends in certain symptoms – headaches, insomnia, fatigue and palpitations, but also more serious conditions including brain tumours in young people, fertility problems and accelerating neurological diseases such as early onset Alzheimer’s and autism. As yet there is still no scientific proof that relates these diseases to radiation, but Mallery-Blythe is among a not insignificant number of scientists and practitioners concerned by those studies that do highlight cause for more precaution.

Over the past few years, as Wi-Fi, laptops and iPads have become increasingly prevalent in classrooms, Mallery-Blythe says “hundreds” of families have sought her help with what they believe to be EMF-related diseases and health issues.

One such case is that of nine-year-old Jessica Lewis’s family. In the autumn term of 2011, Jessica started to complain that she was getting bad headaches at school. She was also feeling overly tired, developed rashes on her legs and her parents said she looked “completely washed out” after school, particularly on Mondays. A quick internet search threw up a forum where parents had written that their children complained of similar symptoms after installing Wi-Fi.

“I ignored it. We didn’t know anything about Wi-Fi then,” says Jessica’s father, Paul Lewis. “We didn’t think her school had it.”

Later that term, at a parents’ evening, he noticed a Wi-Fi router near Jessica’s desk in her new form classroom. As it turned out, Monday was the day of the week the whole class worked on laptops.

When a local GP backed up Lewis’s suspicions about Wi-Fi being the probable cause of Jessica’s headaches, he went to some lengths to try to convince Spotbrough Copley Junior School in Doncaster to use wires instead of Wi-Fi, even offering to pay for the school building to be wired with cables.

The school pointed out that a government report advised that Wi-Fi exposures were well within internationally accepted standards. Guidelines were reviewed in 2011 and still stand today. “We do not think the balance of available scientific evidence on radiofrequency has shifted and, as such, our position remains that PHE [Public Health England] sees no reason why Wi-Fi should not continue to be used in schools and in other places,” says Dr Simon Mann at PHE, the Department of Health’s agency in charge of health protection.

“That just didn’t add up,” says Lewis. Now Jessica is home-schooled, much to her frustration, because symptoms resurface when she’s exposed to Wi-Fi.

In February, insurance market Lloyd’s of London informed schools that it was excluding liability coverage for injuries “resulting from or contributed to by electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic radiation, electromagnetism, radio waves or noise”, which means that school officials could be personally liable for exposing children and staff to microwave radiation.

“The Government is expecting head teachers to decide whether risk versus benefit is worthwhile. This seems unfair to me,” says Mallery-Blythe. “Most teachers don’t even know that RF is currently classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as a Group 2B carcinogen, which means it is a possible cause of cancer in humans. There is a vast amount of published literature documenting the harmful effects on every biological system. Most people understandably don’t have time to read and digest it all.”

As well as founding the Physicians’ Health Initiative for Radiation and Environment (PHIRE) to inform doctors of the issues and advise on best health practice, Mallery-Blythe gives talks to teachers around the country, in which she presents scientific studies that reveal both short and long-term effects of EMF exposure. One of the talks (below) has had more than 15,000 views on YouTube since last November. It’s an engaging summary of the issues that concerned scientists are discussing. “I try to present the facts the authorities aren’t highlighting,” says Mallery-Blythe.



I was surprised to find myself glued to it. Particularly eye-opening are the number of widely held misconceptions about radiation safety that Mallery-Blythe sets about busting. Standing a good distance away from a Wi-Fi router may reduce radiation intensity, for example, but low-intensity windows of radiation have been shown to be more harmful in some studies than higher-intensity exposures.

“At the moment people think their children are safe because the router is far away – or we don’t have to worry about the phone because it’s not near the brain. That’s common sense but unfortunately we now know it’s not quite true,” she says, pointing out that the brain is better protected than some more vulnerable parts of the body.

Are the Department of Health and PHE doing too little? “My main issue with the PHE’s stance is that it’s contradictory,” says Mallery-Blythe.

“They’ve issued a caution saying children under 16 shouldn’t be using mobile phones except for essential calls, but they’ve been quite happy to support the one-to-one iPad scheme, though an iPad can have an equivalent or higher SAR (the rate at which energy is absorbed by the human body when exposed to a radio frequency) than a phone.”

Associate Professor Olle Johansson, a neuroscientist at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, compares putting an iPhone near a baby’s head to “putting it next to several electric train engines”, pointing out that working with train engines is Sweden’s highest occupational exposure allowance.

Johansson has been researching the biological effects of radiofrequency (RF) wireless radiation for more than 30 years, but says it has become “extremely hard to get funding” in this area. “Given the importance of the subject I’d say that’s more than enigmatic.”

He predicts a “paradigm shift” in attitudes towards EMF. We are currently living in an environment estimated to contain more than 10 billion times more RF radiation than it did in the Sixties. “If this environment is safe we’re talking about in the order of 15,000 to 25,000 papers – in peer-reviewed scientific journals – all being wrong. That has never happened before.”

“We just want to see some precautionary action put in place, and we’re not seeing it.”

Try to keep your mobile switched off and don’t use it unless you need to. Keep it in flight mode when it is on and never carry your mobile close to your body, even on standby.

Don’t use Wi-Fi for internet. Instead use an Ethernet cable and buy a router with no wireless capacity or disable it. Disable Wi-Fi on your computer or tablet by disabling the wireless card via the control panel or putting it into flight mode.

Replace cordless landlines with corded ones. Most cordless telephones give off radiation whether they’re in use or not.

In February the French government banned Wi-Fi in nursery schools and restricted use in primary schools. The German government has recommended that the use of Wi-Fi in the workplace or home should be avoided where possible. LA has reduced student exposure to Wi-Fi radiation to 10,000 times below US government standard.

In 2000, a report commissioned by the Government concluded that no school should fall within 100 metres of a mobile phone mast; in 2007 a BBC Panorama programme found that the readings next to a classroom laptop showed radiation at double the level only 100 metres from a mobile phone mast.

A five-year-old absorbs up to 60 per cent more radiation than an adult due largely to their thinner skulls and the high water content of a young body. In Western countries brain tumours have overtaken leukaemia as the most common cause of cancer in children.

A 2008 study found a fivefold increase in the risk of glioma (a form of brain cancer now recognised by the World Health Organisation as being linked to mobile phone usage) for those starting mobile phone use under 20 years of age, indicating that the age group at first use is highly significant.

Researchers from the National Toxicology Program exposed male rats to the type of radio frequencies which are commonly emitted by mobile phones. Following this exposure, "low incidences" of two types of tumours were found in the animals in both the brain and the heart. Tumours were not found in rats not exposed to the frequencies.

More than 2,500 rats were experimented on at various intervals over a two year period for the study.


In a report released alongside the study, the researchers said: "Given the widespread global usage of mobile communications among users of all ages, even a very small increase in the incidence of disease resulting from exposure to [radio-frequency radiation] could have broad implications for public health.”


Potential cancer breakthrough
The study is thought to be one of the largest and most in-depth analyses of mobile phones and cancers, costing the US government $25 million to carry out over the course of several years.

Ron Melnick, a former National Toxicology Program researcher who reviewed the results told the Wall Street Journal: "Where people were saying there's no risk, I think this ends that kind of statement."

The studies findings suggest that women who are trying to get pregnant who are exposed to electromagnetic fields (EMFs) from cell towers and cell phones and similar are likely to express increased levels of salivary alpha-amylase causing them to have a 29% reduced probability of getting pregnant.
