*Don't bomb Syria: we stopped them in 2013, we can stop them now

In 2013 the coalition government was defeated when it tried to win a vote to bomb Assad. Stop the War argued then that bombing and military intervention would not solve the problems in Syria. That is as true today as it was then. Indeed the save US bombing already taking place in Syria (and in Iraq helped by the British) is helping ISIS recruitment.
Today we learn that, despite the democratic vote in Parliament, when Cameron said: "It is very clear tonight that, while the House has not passed a motion, it is clear to me that the British parliament, reflecting the views of the British people, does not want to see British military action. I get that and the government will act accordingly", UK military pilots embedded with other nations' forces have been conducting air strikes over Syria.
Stop the War will be campaigning hard to prevent military escalation in Syria. Over 1,000 of our supporters have already lobbied their MP's - please help us to keep up the pressure by asking your friends to lobby their MPs
