Yesterday the country was apparently saved from a devastating terrorist attack by the good people at scotland yard.
The day before, the Israeli cabinet voted in support of a large scale ground invasion of Lebanon (which is on hold now) and talks over a ceasefire were on the verge of collapse at the UN. At home, the Home secretary John Reid gave a speech to the Demos think tank on anti-terrorsism declaring that 'liberal' commentators who oppose the governments anti-terror strategy are 'hindering life and death situations'.
In an hour long edition of the World at One on Radio 4, Lebanon was not even mentioned, even in the news bulletins from what I remember (I may be wrong, but we can always listen again on their website) and was relegated to pages 28 & 29 of todays edition of the Independent while an attack that never occured was given eight pages.
Handed to them on a plate. Anyone would think the terrorists are working for the government.
Keep your eyes and ears wide open.

I listened intently to yesterday's "news" from BBC and Sky and posted it as it unfolded.
The first mention of Lebanon was at 19:30 _________________ The Medium is the Massage - Marshall McLuhan. |

I did hear a rumour about several MP's resigning Scott, but it's not reported in 'the sun' or the 'guardian',so it can't be true. |
