Paris attack: Third terror squad still on the run as cops make arrests in Belgium
23:05, 14 NOV 2015 UPDATED 09:34, 15 NOV 2015 BY NICK DORMAN, PATRICK HILL, MATTHEW DRAKE
Police are focusing on two cars thought to have been used by the Islamic State gang who are thought to have worked in three teams
French police have revealed they believe a team of terrorists involved in the Paris atrocity escaped over the border to Belgium.
Investigators made three arrests in Brussels and are quizzing the men.
The latest development emerged as a wounded UK survivor told how she cradled a British friend who died in her arms during the attacks on Friday.

For people opposed to the endless wars President Hollande has just given the game away.
The response to the Paris attacks will be pitiless, he says.
Not a thorough investigation, no hint of reflection or analysis, no review of French foreign policy, just a pitiless response.
In today's world we know what that means: pitiless airstrikes and drone attacks against mostly innocent people in the Middle East and beyond, the pitiless destruction of Libya followed by the pitiless fuelling of war in Syria. Pitiless supplies of arms to the same terrorists who have just murdered Hollande's fellow country people. What a giveaway. The BBC know a thing or two about propaganda, and they have already removed the quote from their website. Other sources are changing the translation to merciless, which is not quite the same.
In fact the latest attack is hardly worse that events that take place in the destabilised Middle East on a weekly basis. (Why, incidentally, are the NATO media not calling the pitiless US attack on a hospital in Afghanistan an atrocity?) It follows the bizarre Charlie Hebdo incident when three named terrorists apparently went on a shooting spree. The only problem was that one of them had an alibi and was innocent while the other two accused were shot to death by police before they could make any statements.
Was Charlie Hebdo a permitted or manipulated event, even an outright false flag operation, aimed at reversing Hollande's single digit poll figures (which it duly did), and forcing a U turn on Hollande's public objections to anti-Russian sanctions (as happened)? We may never know for sure because to ask these questions will no longer be permitted at least if Hollande and Cameron get their way.
In the days after, the world's leaders posed in an iconic photo to reaffirm their belief in Western values. Within a week the internet established that the world leaders were never bravely at the front of the free speech demonstration. The iconic photo was taken in a special protected area. Worse still, despite their claimed belief in Western values Hollande and Cameron are leading the way in suppressing free speech.
We are not talking incitement to violence which is prosecutable online as much as offline. It is now an imprisonable offence in France to call for a boycott of Israeli products. In the UK Cameron has made it clear: it is "non-violent extremism" he means to suppress.
Now we can expect to be immersed in a wave of grief managed and amplified by the mainstream media. The grief will not extend to other victims of ISIS in Syria and Iraq and will certainly not lead to a thorough probe into who carried out the attack and who helped them. The NATO crowd know very well that the people behind the latest atrocity work for groups that have been armed and trained by the UK, France, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the US.
We can hope that this time will be different and commentators will dare to point out that ISIS is the creation of the western powers. But sadly, on past experience the wave of sympathy will probably be used to bolster support for the failed criminal policies of perpetual war and proxy terrorism. Despite their public grief, unpopular austerity politicians know the events will boost their standing, that war creates fear and foreign enemies bring domestic votes.
In a world where telling the truth is non-violent extremism and today's terrorists are tomorrow's covert allies it can be hard to figure out what is really going on. To return to the soon to be banned question: could the Paris attacks be a manipulated event? There is a traditional adage to help decide as events unfold: "by their fruits shall you know them". For pessimists the fruits of Paris are likely to be more destabilisation in the Middle East, more surveillance and censorship at home, poll boosts for unpopular politicians, more terrorism in Syria.
After all, as Hollande says, the western powers and their Middle East allies are indeed pitiless.
While the French nation is watching the news reports relating the different elements of the monstrous bloody carnage that hit Paris and shocked the world, it is not always easy to step back, to keep his cool, or even to rise vibrationally above the fray to see more clearly and radiate the frequency of unconditional Love, so vital in these difficult hours. But everyone can do it. It is only in our oasis of inner peace that we can find the serene calmness of the soul that knows itself to be invulnerable and immortal, and perceive the still small voice of our intuition that can best guide us safely, amid the turmoil, and help others who want it to do the same.
That being said, it is healthy also to not get carried away by the ambient frenzy, especially that which calls for revenge, as it is well known that an "eye for eye and a tooth for tooth makes everyone blind and destroys any chance of ever smiling again to life".
It is still difficult for the moment to say with certainty what are the hidden motives of those who ordered this simultaneous attack on multiple fronts. But knowing, with history's hindsight—when one is even slightly informed about the true hidden intentions concealed under the "official" theories claiming to designate those responsible for previous so-called "terrorists" attacks—that the vast majority of similar onslaughts that took place around the world since that term exists have actually been engineered not by the actors on the front line, as the official versions would have us believe, but by those who pull the strings in the shadows and who finance, train and arm these "actors", who are simply pawns in a far greater chessboard involving savage, powerful, ruthless forces determined to win the war for global domination they have been waging for decades.
There is no need to say more about this, since thanks to the space of relative freedom for the flow of alternative information which the Internet is, many people today are alerted and aware, perfectly able to avoid falling into the emotional trap of panic-stricken fear, the main goal each time of these assaults, designed to emotionally destabilize the population in order to make it accept soon after, with forceps if necessary, disastrous, even inhumane decisions, sometimes engaging the whole nation—decisions to which this population would never have consented without this artificial shock.
To feed our common reflection, you will find below a compilation of links to articles and videos providing various pieces of the puzzle that we can then each reconstruct according to our mental shrewdness and guided by our own intuition. I point out that the second part entitled "Backdrop" was prepared about two weeks ago to make us all more keenly aware of the formidable military forces currently deployed on the planet, which never before in its entire history (at least its known part) has been so much armed to the teeth with such sophisticated stunningly powerful means of destruction that the slightest misstep of our political leaders could unleash worldwide—and which were actually unleashed in a succession of regional conflicts like the one that has been tearing apart Syria in the past 4 years.
If I include this here under this title, it's because I would like to humbly submit to you that one of the true intentions of the sponsors of Friday's massacre was to get an important domino to fall, that is, the sending of a punitive expeditionary force in Syria by France against the ISIL scarecrow, agitated by the puppet manipulators controlling it, which could be also supported by ground troops from other members of the Western military alliance—whose leaders are "coincidentally" just about to meet at the G20 summit in Turkey, where they were supposed to talk about global warming, amongst other things, on the eve of the Paris Summit, which now may be canceled or at least hampered with several leading figures invoking a risk to their personal safety to duck out of it... And guess what they will be discussing at this G20 after these attacks on the strategically chosen date of Friday, November 13?... Guess also which fossil fuel merchants are thrilled by these events perfectly timed to derail the negotiations that might put an end to the one trillion dollars in direct and indirect subsidies from which these climatic bomb merchants benefit handsomely every year?... You get the picture?
In short, there is something very fishy here... But be careful! We should also avoid falling into the other trap, that of anger and revolt against the state actors who also are often only pawns, bigger ones of course, but nevertheless simple pawns in the planetary chessboard, which others in the shadows know very well how to manipulate. Instead, we must support those who, guided by their heart rather than their fear, will talk the good talk and rise above the calls for vengeful violence, to opt instead for the path of wisdom, the path of compassion, the Path of Love.
We must also applaud and admire the courage of the police and all those who devote themselves in this kind of tragedy to protect and help their fellows, and restore stability and security for all, but only if they act in a manner that fully respects the fundamental rights and freedoms secured after a hard-fought battle by those who preceded us, and which are the foundation on which a better future can be bequeathed to those who follow us.
Finally, we must continue at all costs to nurture the common vision of an Earth at Peace, regenerated and freed from the dross of past evolutionary ages, and to raise our vibrational frequency, through our thoughts, words and actions, so as to get into resonance with the universal Forces of Good summoning us, through their Love, to join them, and thus pass with flying colors the collective test of our spiritual maturity, which will be our one-way ticket to a world of opportunities so extraordinary and a happiness so unspeakable it is useless to try doing more than evoking it.
Let us sow Life... Let us sow Goodness... Let us sow Love... and that's what we shall reap.

Prime Minister David Cameron speaks in the State Dining Room of 10 Downing Street, London after chairing an emergency Cobra meeting in the wake of a series of coordinated terrorist attacks in Paris PA
David Cameron placed the UK on high alert for a terror attack, as holidaymakers in Paris were told to “stay indoors” and security checks were ramped up at British airports and ferry terminals.
The Prime Minister said the scale of the atrocity in France revealed “a greater ambition for mass-casualty attacks” on the West, and warned that an attempt to bring terror to the UK was “highly likely”.... _________________ --

Having conspiracy theorists claim that Friday’s events in Paris were a hoax was about as inevitable as the attacks themselves. In the aftermath of most mass-casualty attacks—whether they are school shootings or radical Islamist bombings—conspiracy theorists immediately take to online forums and social media to speculate on government involvement and deny the official narrative.
Over 120 were killed and hundreds more wounded in Paris by Daesh (ISIS) militants on Friday. While most of the world grieves this mass loss of life, others are busy blaming Israel, the French government or even “the Illuminati." So what evidence do they provide for these outlandish theories? One of the most popular starts with a video game.
"Battlefield 3" is an incredibly popular first-person shooter game which sold over 5 million copies in its first week. Now it has the fringe corners of the Internet going wild because one of the missions players must complete is set in Paris, with the objective to battle a terrorist threat in the city. There are not too many similarities with Friday’s eve _________________ --

Here's Peter Hitchens today:
Let us not forget that Islamist terror has grown in strength and reach, not diminished, since we embarked on our supposedly benevolent interventions in the Muslim world. The Iraq invasion, the Afghan intervention, the wild and brainless enthusiasm with which we greeted the disastrous ‘Arab Spring’, the supposedly humanitarian interference in Libya which turned it into a failed state, the aid and comfort we gave to the rebellion in Syria. Not only have these things failed to prevent terror. They have visited a violent chaos on the whole Muslim world, in which fanatical and grisly death cults thrive and prosper.
And alongside them, there is the enormous migration of desperate young men, from Africa, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, many of them Muslim, some of them no doubt easy recruits for the fanatics.
We pretend to understand these nebulous and varied terror groups, for years placing them under the all-embracing trademark of ‘Al Qaeda’, now insisting they are part of a new and greater menace called ‘ISIS’. The truth is there is no mastermind sitting in a cave issuing orders (though of course someone is always willing to claim responsibility for these outrages after they have happened – and who can be sure if such claims are true?).
That is a James Bond fantasy. And it is also why these things would still be hard to prevent if we turned ourselves into a totalitarian state of surveillance, identity cards, perpetual searches of the innocent – like going through an airport, only all the time.
They don’t work by our rules. They can stay off, or below, our grid. They don’t mind if they die. They will get through.
All we will achieve by adopting such methods is to make ourselves miserable without making ourselves safe.
Our task is now first to mourn with our French friends and allies. And after that, to think rather than to shout. Rhetoric and militancy have not done very much for us in the past. Why should it be different this time?

PS. B4 anyone, accuses me of just whinging again, ask Mala, how he felt about the proceedings, as he was gutted by the lack of sonic quality..Infact just as i stepped up to play, he said to me "Kev, blow up the speakers, they deserve it !"..haha
PPS. After the event it was insane to read the events in Paris that had unfolded accross the Channel, simultaneous to our show..Sittin in my hotel room, i couldnt help but ponder just how insane it was for cold blooded murderers to run into a venue and end people's lives in such a barbaric manner...Friday night's acts were murders on our european doorstep, but in far off lands the losses have been heavier and unreported. Near and far, death is tragic. As a recent parent, i feel for anyone who loses a child. Whether that child is in Paris or Syria, loss is pain. It was a very sad way to end a very memorable evening.

I beg to differ on two counts.
1 The false flag criminals didn't blink an eye at 3,000 deaths in New York so this seems to me to be just another day at the office for them
2 Nearly 140 deaths would have meant at the very least 70 ambulance trips or 70 morgue trips. The media are great at using images of these sorts of things. I have seen no news reports, or amateur video showing anything like this. We question everything the mainstream media pumps out, except not the body count. I don't doubt there were deaths, but apart from the patsies, over 100? Not in my book.
For the record, for all the innocent deaths (Paris, Syria, Benghazi, Yemen, Croatia, Palestine, etc, etc) my heart goes out to family and friends. _________________ In the end, it's not the words of your enemies you will remember, but the silence of your friends. Martin Luther King

A suicide bomber who tried to enter France’s packed 80,000 capacity national football stadium was stopped by a heroic security guard.
Thousands of supporters watching France's friendly against Germany heard two loud explosions outside the Stade de France about 15 minutes in.
The guard - identified only by his first name, Zouheir - said he discovered the attacker's suicide vest while searching him at the entrance.
The attacker detonated the vest as he backed away from security said Zouheir, who was told what happened by the security team at the gate.
A police officer said the suspect may have aimed to detonate his vest inside the stadium in order to provoke a deadly stampede, reports WSJ.com.
So "Zouheir" apparently a muslim, discovered the bomb vest, but the bomber backed away and blew himself up? Leaving Zouheir alive - but largely unidentified - to tell the story. This has all the hallmarks of the Flight 93 fairy tale.
What did Zouheir say or do?
How did he avoid being killed?
Was he injured?
WSJ source of the news? (The Wall Street Journal was covering the football match?)
Coincidence of Zouheir being a Muslim?
Explosions 15 minutes after the start of the game (so the terrorist arrived late for his own suicide?)
Or did this happen before the other explosions?
Let's ask Zouheir... oh wait, we can't.

Passport was not on Almuhamed's body - rather it was 'lying nearby, as if meant to be found'
John Lichfield Paris @indyvoices 4 hours ago
The passport of a refugee who entered the EU via the Greek island of Leros was found by a terrorist’s body
The passport of a refugee who entered the EU via the Greek island of Leros was found by a terrorist’s body Reuters
The Syrian passport found near the remains of a suicide bomber at the Stade de France intrigues French investigators for many reasons.
“The single most intriguing fact is that the passport was there at all,” one French official source said. “It was not actually on the terrorist’s body, or what remained of it. It was lying nearby, as if meant to be found.” The holder of the passport was named as Ahmed Almuhamed, aged 25. A man of this name entered the European Union on a Syrian passport with 69 other refugees after their boat sank off the Greek island of Leros on 3 October.
The idea that one of the Paris “black Friday” terrorists may have been a recent Syrian refugee to the EU was seized upon gleefully by right-wing newspapers and politicians across Europe. The discovery appeared to substantiate claims that Isis terrorists have infiltrated the hundreds of thousands of refugees who have entered Europe this year.
French officials say that they have no proof that the Stade de France suicide bomber – one of three who detonated crude explosive belts at the stadium – was Mr Almuhamed. Intelligence sources in the US told CBS news that there are doubts whether the passport is authentic. The number of the document is incorrect and name does not match the picture, it was claimed.
Paris police were reported to have believed that the passport, and another found at the scene, were fakes made in Turkey. There is known to be a flourishing trade in fake Syrian passports in both Turkey and Europe. But that does not necessarily mean that the man who entered Greece as a refugee was not also the man who blew himself up.
Concert-goer captures start of Bataclan attack
French investigators fear that the apparent “planting” of the passport is part of a sophisticated propaganda war being waged by Isis. “There are three possibilities,” one source said. “He is the man whose name is on the passport. He was a false refugee, travelling on a false passport. Or he is someone else and a false passport was deliberately left there to sow confusion.”
Two British women hid in cellar to escape Bataclan gunmen
In all three cases, Isis appears to have set out to stoke popular anger against Syrian migrants as part of their campaign to foment anti-Muslim feeling. The man travelling as Mr Almuhamed entered Greece with another man called Mohamed Almuhamed, who was presumed to be his brother. Ahmed then turned up, Serbian authorities said, at a Macedonian border crossing four days later.
A spokeswoman for the Croatian Interior Ministry said the man was registered at the Opatovac refugee camp on 8 October and crossed into Hungary, making for Austria. Austrian officials insisted on 14 November that there was no record of him.
Ursula von der Leyen, Germany’s Defence Minister, appeared to doubt that Mr Almuhamed, whoever he may be, had taken part in the attack. She said linking the refugee crisis to the threat of terrorism would be wrong. “Terrorism is so well organised that it doesn’t have to risk … the sometimes life-threatening crossings at sea.” _________________ --

In the aftermath of the Paris terror attacks that left 129 people dead and injured hundreds more, it has emerged authorities warned that terrorists could be coordinating attacks on the PlayStation 4 network.
A minister in Belgium, where some of the suspects in Paris came from, said terrorists using video game consoles to talk made it so much more difficult to track communications.
Jan Jambon, Belgium's interior minister, made the comments in a Politico event days before the Paris attacks.
He said:
The most difficult communication between these terrorists is via PlayStation 4.
It’s very, very difficult for our services - not only Belgian services but international services - to decrypt the communication that is done via PlayStation 4.
Writing for Forbes, contributor Paul Tassi argues that almost any video game system could potentially include the prospect of untraceable communications, whether it be via Nintendo's Super Mario Maker, where players construct their own levels, or a first-person shooter like Call of Duty.
He writes:
The scary part of all this is that there are probably still a number of ways that terrorists could send messages to each other without speaking a word, if they really wanted to. An Isis agent could spell out an attack plan in Super Mario Maker’s coins and share it privately with a friend, or two Call of Duty players could write messages to each other on a wall in a disappearing spray of bullets.
It may sound ridiculous, but there are many in-game ways of non-verbal communication that would almost be impossible to track. To do so would require an FBI or NSA agent somehow tapping all the activity on an entire console, not just voice and text chat, and that should not even be technically possible at this point.
A Sony spokesperson told Eurogamer that "in common with all modern connected devices, [PlayStation 4] has the potential to be abused".
The statement went on to say: "However, we take our responsibilities to protect our users extremely seriously and we urge our users and partners to report activities that may be offensive, suspicious or illegal. When we identify or are notified of such conduct, we are committed to taking appropriate actions in conjunction with the appropriate authorities and will continue to do so."

NO TIME TO THINK
The words, poems, stories and thoughts of award winning writer and journalist Nic Outterside
Beyond the Horizon O’er the Treacherous Sea
NOVEMBER 16, 2015 / SEAGULLNIC
SINCE the atrocities in Paris on Friday evening I have been surprised just how many of my friends have believed without question the explanation of events as described by our own Government.
https://seagullnic.wordpress.com/2015/11/16/beyond-the-horizon-oer-the -treacherous-sea/
This is the same Government which covered up the Hillsborough disaster, lied over MI6 dirty tricks during the miners’ strike, lied over MPs’ expenses and shifted Heaven and Earth to blanket a 50 year VIP paedophile network, involving at least one former PM.
It is a truism that “all you believe are your eyes, but your eyes they just tell you lies”.
For me, as a so-called investigative journalist for more than 20 years of my working life, I am naturally more sceptical, having many times seen, at first hand, the depths to which our own British Establishment will stoop to distort the truth, cover-up malpractice and quite simply lie.
Within half an hour of the tragic events of Friday night being relayed to our TV screens I was informed by former journalist friends that the official spin was the attack was the work of ISIS.
And within 12 hours the official press office lines from Paris, London and Washington corroborated that, with the sound knowledge that the terror group numbered eight – including suicide bombers – and they were of Syrian and Egyptian origin.
But sixty hours later, their hall of smoke and mirrors is starting to crumble.
Eyewitnesses now say they saw white professional killers at the Bataclan Concert Hall and at one of the restaurant shootings in Paris.
And by my own reckoning (it is quite easy to count between the official reports) there were at least 10 and possibly 12 people involved in the terror attacks.
French police have now confirmed that at least three separate teams perpetrated the attacks which left 129 people dead and hundreds injured in the capital city.
One survivor told Sky News that he was in the Bataclan Concert Hall and saw the attackers who murdered hostages.
He said that one of the gunmen had white skin and blonde hair.
Elsewhere an eyewitness has told how 20 people were executed in a calculated attack on a busy restaurant in the heart of the French capital as they ate at tables on the pavement.
Mahoud Admo said: “The gunman showed no emotion at all as he began spraying bullets into the diners. He just kept reloading his machine gun and firing, without saying a thing.”
Mr Admo, 26, who was staying at the Salvation Army hostel in Rue de Charonne opposite the Le Belle Equipe, recalled how the massacre unfolded, he said: “I was just in my room and had the window open on to the street below.
“I could see lots people sat outside the bar eating dinner and enjoying a drink. The place was full of people just enjoying themselves.
“At about 9.30pm a new looking black Mercedes pulled up outside with dark tinted windows at the back and the passenger and driver windows down. I could clearly see the passenger’s face as he was not wearing a hat or mask.
“As soon as the car stopped he quietly opened the door and got out in front of the restaurant.
“That is when I saw he was holding a machine gun that was resting on his hip.
“People outside spotted the shooter approaching with his gun and tried to run inside but he shot them down in the doorway.
“Then people inside moved forward to see what was happening and he sprayed more bullets into them. I was trying to catch them on my camera phone but the gunman saw the light on my mobile and I ducked down behind the wall as they fired at my hotel.
“The gunman calmly reloaded his weapon several times. He then shot up at the windows in the street to make sure nobody was filming anything or taking photographs. It lasted over six minutes.
“He fired lots of bullets. He was white, clean shaven and had dark hair neatly trimmed. He was dressed all in black accept for a red scarf.
“The shooter was aged about 35 and had an extremely muscular build, which you could tell from the size of his arms. He looked like a weightlifter.
“He was not wearing gloves and his face was expressionless as he walked towards the bar.
“The driver had opened his door shortly before the shooting began and stood up with his arm and a machine gun rested on the roof of the car. He stood there with his foot up in the door acting as a lookout.
“I would describe him as tall, with dark hair and also quite muscular.
“They looked like soldiers and carried the whole thing out like a military operation. It was clear that they were both very heavily armed and the gunman was carrying several magazines on him.”
These killers, like the ones in the Charlie Hebdo attack in January, are professionals for all intents and purposes.
The true facts are buried in a murkiness few can possibly imagine.
The West’s endless War on Terror, launched 14 years ago by George Bush, is tying itself up in ever more grotesque contortions.
Last week the trial in London of a Swedish man, Bherlin Gildo, accused of terrorism in Syria, collapsed after it became clear British intelligence had been arming the same rebel groups the defendant was charged with supporting.
The prosecution abandoned the case to avoid embarrassing the intelligence services.
The defence argued that going ahead with the trial would have been an “affront to justice” when there was plenty of evidence the British state was itself providing “extensive support” to the armed Syrian opposition.
That didn’t only include the “non-lethal assistance” boasted of by the government (including body armour and military vehicles), but training, logistical support and the secret supply of “arms on a massive scale”. Reports were cited that MI6 had cooperated with the CIA on a “rat line” of arms transfers from Libyan stockpiles to the Syrian rebels in 2012 after the fall of the Gaddafi regime.
Clearly, the absurdity of sending someone to prison for doing what ministers and their security officials were up to themselves became too much.
But it’s only the latest of a string of such cases.
Less fortunate was a London cab driver Anis Sardar, who was given a life sentence a fortnight earlier for taking part in 2007 in resistance to the occupation of Iraq by US and British forces. Armed opposition to illegal invasion and occupation clearly doesn’t constitute terrorism or murder on most definitions, including the Geneva Convention.
But terrorism is now in the eye of the beholder.
And nowhere is that more so than in the Middle East, where today’s terrorists are tomorrow’s fighters against tyranny, a place where allies suddenly become enemies.
For the past year, US, British and other Western forces have been back in Iraq, supposedly in the cause of destroying ISIS. This was after ISIS overran huge chunks of Iraqi and Syrian territory and proclaimed a self-styled Islamic caliphate.
The campaign isn’t going well. Last month, ISIS rolled into the Iraqi city of Ramadi, while on the other side of the now non-existent border its forces conquered the Syrian town of Palmyra.
Al-Qaida’s official Nusra Front, has also been making gains in Syria.
Some Iraqis complain that the US sat on its hands while all this was going on. The Americans insist they are trying to avoid civilian casualties, and claim significant successes.
Privately, officials say they don’t want to be seen hammering Sunni strongholds in a sectarian war and risk upsetting their Wahhabi Sunni Muslim allies in the Gulf – particularly Saudi Arabia.
A revealing light on how we got into this crazy mess has been shone by a recently declassified secret US intelligence report, written in August 2012, which predicts – and effectively welcomes – the prospect of a “Salafist principality” in eastern Syria and an al-Qaida-controlled Islamic state in Syria and Iraq.
In stark contrast to Western claims at the time, the Defense Intelligence Agency document identifies al-Qaida in Iraq (which became ISIS) and fellow Salafists as the “major forces driving the insurgency in Syria” – and states that “Western countries, the Gulf states and Turkey” were supporting the opposition’s efforts to take control of eastern Syria.
Raising the “possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist principality”, the Pentagon report goes on, “this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime, which is considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion.”
So American forces bomb one set of rebels while backing another in Syria
Which is pretty well exactly what happened two years later.
A year into the Syrian rebellion, the US and its allies weren’t only supporting and arming an opposition they knew to be dominated by extreme sectarian groups; they were prepared to countenance the creation of some sort of “Islamic state” – despite the “grave danger” to Iraq’s unity – as a Sunni buffer to weaken Syria.
That doesn’t mean the US created ISIS, though some of its Gulf allies certainly played a role in it – as the US vice-president, Joe Biden, acknowledged last year.
In August 2014, The Times of Israel reported that a Free Syrian Army commander, arrested by the Al-Nusra Front, told his captors he collaborated with Israel in return for medical and military support.
Sharif As-Safouri, the commander of the Free Syrian Army’s Al-Haramein Battalion, admitted to having entered Israel five times to meet with Israeli officers who later provided him with Soviet anti-tank weapons and light arms.
Safouri was abducted by the al-Qaeda-affiliated Al-Nusra Front in the Quneitra area, near the Israeli border, in the summer of 2014.
“The opposition factions would receive support and send the injured in to Israel on condition that the Israeli fence area is secured.” Safouri said.
“No person was allowed to come near the fence without prior coordination with Israel authorities.”
Safouri says that at first he met with an Israeli officer named Ashraf at the border and was given an Israeli cellular phone. He later met with another officer named Younis and with the two men’s commander, Abu Daoud.
In total, Safouri said he entered Israel five times for meetings that took place in Tiberias.
Following the meetings, Israel began providing Safouri and his men with “basic medical support and clothes” as well as weapons, which included 30 Russian rifles, 10 RPG launchers with 47 rockets, and 48,000 5.56mm bullets.
Late last year the Jewish Telegraphic Agency – a 97-year old Jewish wire service – reported: A senior employee of the Dutch Justice Ministry said ISIS was created by Zionists seeking to give Islam a bad reputation.
Yasmina Haifi, a project leader at the ministry’s National Cyber Security Center, stated: “ISIS has nothing to do with Islam. It’s part of a plan by Zionists who are deliberately trying to blacken Islam’s name.”
In March, Haaretz reported: “The Syrian opposition is willing to give up claims to the Golan Heights in return for cash and Israeli military aid against President Bashar Assad.”
And to add a further twist, a former high-level al Qaida commander has repeatedly alleged that ISIS works for the CIA. Investment adviser Jim Willie alleged: “The ISIS troops that are working there in Syria and Iraq are Langley (CIA) troops. They’re trained, funded, and armed by Langley.
While we don’t know which of the above-described allegations are true, two things are certain:
The US armed Islamic jihadis in Syria, and their weapons ended up in the hands of ISIS
Close allies of the US have supported and trained the ISIS terrorists
And the US has certainly exploited the existence of ISIS against other forces in the region as part of a wider drive to maintain western control.
The calculus changed when ISIS started beheading westerners and posting atrocities online, and the Gulf States are now backing other groups in the Syrian war, such as the Nusra Front.
But this is a US and western habit of playing with jihadi groups, which then come back to bite them.
In reality, US and western policy in the conflagration that is now the Middle East is in the classic mould of imperial divide-and-rule.
American forces bomb one set of rebels while backing another in Syria, and mount what are effectively joint military operations with Iran against ISIS in Iraq while supporting Saudi Arabia’s military campaign against Iranian-backed Houthi forces in Yemen.
However confused US policy may often be, a weak, partitioned Iraq and Syria fit such an approach perfectly.
What’s clear is that ISIS and its monstrosities won’t be defeated by the same powers that brought it to Iraq and Syria in the first place, or whose open and covert war-making has fostered it in the years since.
Endless western military interventions in the Middle East have brought only destruction and division.
Unless we want to see more atrocities like Paris on Friday we must force our governments to leave the Middle East alone.
Stop creating more failed states.
Stop throwing away our freedoms at home on falsehoods.
Stop disenfranchising the Muslims who live with us.
Start with those things and see, even if you won’t give it 14 years to succeed, if things improve. Other than the death tolls scaling up further, I can’t imagine we could be doing anything worse.
I will finish with some words by a journalist hero of mine, John Pilger (his book Distant Voices is a must read): “By most scholarly measure, Bush and Blair’s invasion of Iraq in 2003 led to the deaths of some 700,000 people – in a country that had no history of jihadism.
“The Kurds had done territorial and political deals; Sunni and Shia had class and sectarian differences, but they were at peace; intermarriage was common.
“Three years before the invasion, I drove the length of Iraq without fear. On the way I met people proud, above all, to be Iraqis, the heirs of a civilization that seemed, for them, a presence.
“Bush and Blair blew all this to bits.
“Iraq is now a nest of jihadism.
“Al-Qaeda – like Pol Pot’s “jihadists” – seized the opportunity provided by the onslaught of Shock and Awe and the civil war that followed.
“Rebel Syria offered even greater rewards, with CIA and Gulf state ratlines of weapons, logistics and money running through Turkey. The arrival of foreign recruits was inevitable.”
A former British ambassador, Oliver Miles, wrote recently: “The Cameron Government seems to be following the example of Tony Blair, who ignored consistent advice from the Foreign Office, MI5 and MI6 that our Middle East policy – and in particular our Middle East wars – had been a principal driver in the recruitment of Muslims in Britain for terrorism.”

Here is a Paddy with an extremely good analysis of the Paris attacks and beyond -
Political author Gearoid O Colmain discusses the Paris attacks with RT International:

...In any case, news reports on the investigation into Friday’s attacks have suggested that some of the terrorists involved in the attack—even a figure identified as the possible planner—have had some of their communications analyzed already. If so, enough metadata was available to partially map out this network. If investigators know about these communications now, they could have known about them on Thursday, before the attack. And if they did, investigators might have been able to bypass whatever encryption the terrorists did use.
The terrorists who conducted Friday’s attack may well have been using encryption. But if so, it appears that the metadata dragnet failed well before agencies got to any encrypted communications.

A little reminder of one national intelligence service that knows a thing or two about terrorism
Well worth a read if you want to get into Bibi's brain :-S
Netanyahu says Israel passed intel to France about Paris attacks
At a situation assessment at the Foreign Ministry, the PM reveals that Israel had information relating to those involved in Friday's attacks on the French capital.
Since the terror attacks that killed 129 people in Paris on Friday night, Israel has shared intelligence information at its disposal with French authorities, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement issued by his office Saturday. At a situation assessment at the Foreign Ministry, Netanyahu said that Israel has information relating to those involved in the attacks in French capital, a senior Israeli official said.
"We are not exactly a marginal player in this field, and the information that we have we are sharing with France and other relevant countries, not just over the past day," said the prime minister. "It's an important part of the cooperation against the terrorism of the Islamic State and of radical Islamic terrorism in general."
Netanyahu ordered Israeli security and intelligence agencies to give France every assistance possible following the attacks, an official said. "Israel stands shoulder to shoulder with President François Hollande and with the French people in the joint war against terrorism," Netanyahu said, "I offer the condolences of the people of Israel to the families of those murdered, and wish those wounded a speedy recovery."
Hollande said Saturday that ISIS was behind the shootings and suicide bombings.
"Terror is a systematic and targeted assault on innocent civilians. Nothing justifies the terrorism. We always need to condemn it, always need to fight it," Netanyahu said. "For many years, I have been saying that Islamic terror is attacking Israel and other countries because it simply wants to destroy us. An attack on any of us needs to be seen as an attack on all of us," he added.
Following the series of deadly attacks at six locations in the French capital, the prime minister also instructed the Foreign Ministry to ask French authorities to beef up security around the Israeli embassy in the French capital and Jewish institutions in France. Reinforcements will also be sent from Israel to help protect the embassy in Paris. _________________ --

Quote:
A compelling story about a heroic Muslim security guard stopping a suicide bomber from entering the Stade de France on Friday, saving perhaps hundreds of lives, is making the rounds on social media. But it's not true.

Scenes from the multiple coordinated terror attacks in Paris on Friday 13th November 2015
"It's so shocking. When Charlie Hebdo happened, it was a specific, targeted attack. But this time it's terrifying because it is just random, innocent people going about their lives. I know a lot of people in Paris - there is panic and disorder here, no one can understand what's going on. We are all in a state of complete shock."
So said Quentin, 27, who works for an online company in Paris, and whose oldest friend was shot multiple times at the Bataclan concert hall.
Terrorist attacks like these are never "random", at least not in the sense that they have no point. If they appear random, then that is undoubtedly part of the strategy that drives them. Governments and groups use terrorism to achieve a specific goal, so there is always a point. To understand what the point is, you just have to know who is really responsible.
We've already been told that "ISIS" has claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks, a claim partly backed up by the convenient discovery of a Syrian passport on the body of one of the "suicide bombers" (why do these terrorists always carry ID on their suicide missions?). But given that most ISIS terrorists in Syria are foreign mercenaries, this isn't really evidence of anything, except perhaps that some ISIS terrorists were hidden among the Syrian refugees that transited through Greece this summer.
We're told that ISIS aims to establish a caliphate over as much of the Levant as possible. But achieving that aim necessarily involves the removal of the Assad government, which Western powers have been lobbying for for several years. Over the past 4 years of the "Syrian revolution", and until about 6 weeks ago, the group had gone a long way toward attaining that goal, with the Syrian Arab Army seriously pressed and the Assad government's areas of control limited to small areas in and around Damascus. After 6 weeks of Russian airstrikes however, ISIS is now losing ground faster than a 3-legged donkey in a horse race, and their paymasters in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Washington DC can't seem to funnel enough money and weapons to them to make a difference.
Image
'Look what we found in the desert!'
This is the key point, and it's no conspiracy theory: ISIS and other "Syrian rebels" are almost entirely the brainchildren of the US government and their allies in the Middle East. Without their support, as noted by many mainstream news outlets, ISIS would have long since disappeared from the pages of history. In a previous article, I outlined the geopolitical strategy being pursued by Washington and its Mid-East allies in funding a 'Syrian revolution' to overthrow the Assad government; it's all about oil and gas pipelines to Europe and Asia, and thwarting Russian expansion.
So given that "ISIS" is being effectively routed by Russian airstrikes and the Syrian Arab Army, why would the ISIS leadership choose to add to their woes by massacring French civilians and provoking the expected French military response against ISIS in Syria and Iraq. I mean, do these people actually enjoy having Western bombs, in addition to Russian ones, fall on their heads?
ImageIn case you haven't noticed, just about every alleged Muslim terror attack since 9/11 has been immediately used by the US government and its allies to justify continued action in their 'war on terror'. This is despite the fact that, on most occasions, the Muslim terrorists carried out their attacks for the express purpose of intimidating Western governments into ceasing their bombing and invading of Muslim countries.
Western governments clearly don't mind killing civilians, especially civilians of other countries. Groups like ISIS share the same ideology, obviously. You'd think that, by now, the Jihadis would have figured out that the 'great Satan' is unlikely to be swayed from its imperial designs by a few terror attacks against its servants. On the contrary, it merely serves to encourage him in his hell-raising in Muslim lands. Then again, it is possible that, for a very good reason, the jihadis actually want a full-blown NATO attack on Syria.
So could it be that the failure of Western governments to adequately support the jihadis in their desire to give Assad the Gaddafi treatment has forced the jihadis to provide Western governments with the political capital necessary to take some real action? Are French citizens being asked to countenance the possibility that 129 of them had to be gunned down to motivate the French government to act? And if ISIS is largely controlled by the Saudis on behalf of the Americans, who is really providing this 'motivation'?
An interesting historical precedent

The train bombing carried out by the NATO-created OAS terror group on the Paris-Strasbourg line in 1961
Prior to the attacks in Paris, France's worst terrorist atrocity was carried out in 1961 by the "Organisation of the Secret Army" (Organisation de l'armée secrète) when it planted a bomb on the Paris-Strasbourg train line, derailing a train and killing 28 people. The OSA grew out of NATO's 'stay behind' paramilitary groups (known collectively as Operation Gladio) that were tasked with preventing European nations from siding with the Soviet Union and thereby posing a direct threat to US global hegemony.
The 1961 train bombing was specifically designed to prevent then French President Charles de Gaulle from signing the Evian accords that ended the France-Algeria war and paving the way for Algerian independence from France (and therefore NATO). A few days before the derailment, a threat had been sent to the station master and a police investigation into the tragedy found was that it was a deliberate attack. This information was, however, kept secret for 20 years.
Members of this same Secret Army Organisation, in league with US intelligence, made several attempts to assassinate de Gaulle. After the most serious attempt in 1962 when the President's car was raked with machine gun fire by a member of the OSA, officers of France's external intelligence agency still loyal to de Gaulle traced the assassination attempt through Permindex, the Swiss corporation linked to the assassination of JFK, to NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

NATO's military SHAPE HQ in southern Belgium
De Gaulle realised that NATO, despite the talk of "allied powers", was little more than the HQ of US military expansionist plans in Europe and decided to remove France from its influence. Today NATO, and its Supreme Headquarters of Allied Power in Europe, or "SHAPE", based just north of Mons in southern Belgium remains the cover through which US hegemony is exercised over all European nations, particularly the former Soviet republics. In 2009, under then President Nicolas Sarkozy, France rejoined the NATO alliance.
There are many examples that show the extent to which the US government, through NATO, has been prepared to go to undermine genuine European independence and thwart Russian influence. One example was the 1980 bombing of a train station in Bologna Italy that killed 85 people and wounded more than 200. While "communists" were originally blamed, in recent years evidence has emerged that the culprits were in fact Italian secret service agents, including a CIA liaison officer, operating under the aegis of Gladio, who were determined to prevent Italy from 'swinging to the left' and into the arms of Soviet Russia.
Image
A TGV train goes off the rails as workers test a section of brand new high-speed railway near Strasbourg on November 14th 2015. It's officially being blamed on "excessive speed"...
It seems to me to be a rather interesting coincidence then that, one day after the Gladio-style Paris attacks, a French train on the Paris Strasbourg line derailed, killing 10 people. While authorities almost immediately discounted a deliberate attack and blamed "excessive speed", police investigating have said the cause is still unknown.
The point of NATO's Gladio network was to create a strategy of political and social tension in European countries. This "strategy of tension" can been defined as a campaign to create trauma and shock in a population and, if necessary, generate a crisis of citizens' trust in the democratically-elected government and generating - again, if necessary - the conditions for a military or authoritarian force to assume power. It can also be used to create a security psychosis among the population, dividing the population against itself and encouraging citizens to advocate for a more authoritarian political organization that will deal with the security problem.
In the specific context of the modern 'war on Muslim terrorism', the demonization of Muslims is a prerequisite for continued Western meddling in the Middle East and elsewhere - not to mention continued Western sanctioning of Israel's brutal treatment of Palestinians.
In such a context, terror attacks attributed to Muslim groups like ISIS - especially when they occur in a country like France with a significant Muslim minority - cannot but be seen as serving a very particular agenda that, unfortunately, must not be explicitly named.

Emergency doctor Patrick Pelloux was on Radio 4's Today programme on Monday, November 16, and mentioned the training exercise that was held just hours before the Friday 13 attacks took place. I've transcribed the relevant section of his interview with James Naughtie (which begins 2 hrs 11 mins and 50 seconds through the programme) below:
James Naughtie: Doctor Pelloux thinks that he and his team saved perhaps 50 lives on Friday night, perhaps in part--and this is extraordinary--because he was preparing for what happened only a few hours before the attacks began.
Patrick Pelloux: We worked to a scenario of an attack. We know since Charlie Hebdo ... they take Kalashnikov and they kill everybody, like in Call of Duty, you know, the game, stupid game. So in the morning we have this exercise.
James Naughtie: So exactly what happened.
Patrick Pelloux: Yes, yes, yes.
James Naughtie: On the very same day.
Patrick Pelloux: Yes.
... The world-class status of the French health-care system deserves much of the credit. But a good deal of preparation, experience, and more than a little bit of lucky timing also helped save lives.
Since the Charlie Hebdo attacks in January, from which 16 people died, Paris-area ambulance crews and emergency personnel have taken part in regular exercises designed to test their readiness for possible attacks. One such exercise was held on Friday morning, the day of the latest terror attacks. In a twist of fate, the simulated emergency was a mass shooting, according to Dr. Mathieu Raux, emergency room chief at the Pitié-Salpetrière hospital in Paris.
During Friday's exercise, trauma specialists used a centralized dispatch system to set priorities and direct victims to the ER best equipped to treat their injuries. Ambulance services made sure they were ready to roll, and hospitals verified that surgeons and staff could be quickly summoned to treat arriving victims. "We tested every link in the chain," Raux said. Because Paris emergency physicians work 24-hour shifts, virtually every ER doctor on duty in the city Friday night had already taken part in the exercise earlier that day.
The training paid off at Pitié-Salpetrière, a sprawling medical complex in southeastern Paris that specializes in emergency treatment of what doctors call "penetration trauma," such as gunshot wounds. The hospital was alerted to the attacks at 9:40 p.m., 20 minutes after explosions at the Stade de France marked the beginning of the rampage. Within an hour, just as the first ambulances were pulling up, Pitié-Salpetrière had 10 operating rooms prepared and fully staffed with surgeons and surgical nurses. ...
More of the same, & more evidence that someone is commissioning & actively generating copy in an attempt to ridicule those of us who ask questions in cases of political mass murder.
In one way it's rather gratifying to see the perpetrators of these attacks feel the need to spend money & influence trying to squash both us and the truth. Because one things for sure about Paris, we're being lied to on an enormous scale...
Why conspiracy theories are so popular and how our suspicious minds look for big causes for big outcomes
...“Friday 13th is not a coincidence! – it's an occult date of evil Illuminati satanists,” he adds.
As photographs and footage of the attacks emerged, armies of “truthers” went further, describing in dozens of similar videos and on their slick websites how, among other things, the crime scenes had been staged by the intelligence agencies. The fleeing woman filmed dangling from a window at the Bataclan theatre was an actor wearing a harness.

As can be seen in the bottom left corner of the photo, the date of the Paris mission within the game is one year exactly before the Daesh-coordinated Paris attacks on Friday, making conspiracy theorists go crazy.
