The war against historical memory is NATO’s long-term campaign
by Mateusz Piskorski
http://www.voltairenet.org/article191828.html

NATO is an immemorial alliance that liberated Europe from Nazism and protects us from the Russian bear, then that is what we should believe. The historical truth is very different, but NATO strives to revise it. A long-term task with dark consequences.
Voltaire Network | Varsaw (Poland) | 19 May 2016

On July 8th-9th, Warsaw will host the latest NATO summit, the meeting of the heads of the alliance’s member states in the format of the North Atlantic Council. The Warsaw meeting will be the 25th summit in NATO’s history at which agreements achieved at the previous meeting of the alliance’s heads of states in Newport in 2014 will be developed. In particular, we are dealing with the creation of a rapid reaction force on the territory of the countries of Eastern Europe which would be capable of conducting combat operations on the so-called eastern flank of the alliance. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Witold Waszczykowski, emphasized that the establishment of permanent NATO and, in particular, US military bases on the territory of Poland will be announced during the summit.

2.5 thousand participants are expected to be present along with 1.5 thousand foreign journalists. For this event, the modern National Stadium in the center of Warsaw has been rented out. Security measures have been tightened in connection with possible terrorist threats and the protests of public organizations who have already declared their intent to hold a kind of anti-summit in the Polish capital.

In tandem with preparations for the event, an intense information campaign has been conducted, the main task for which is whipping up fears of the allegedly aggressive actions and plans of Russia. The war over historical memory is part of this long-term campaign. Here it should be recognized that the revaluation of historical facts and the denial of the role of the Soviet Union in the Great Victory of 1945 have a certain historical and political soil in the Baltic states and Romania, where the authors of NATO-ordered history often directly refer to local collaborationist movements and present their activities as examples of the “fight for independence” from the Soviet Union.

The situation is seen differently in Poland, where it is quite difficult to find supports of the thesis that the liberation was not the salvation of the Polish people from Hitler’s genocide. The reformatting of modern history has been coordinated by state agencies such as the Polish Institute for National Remembrance. All these activities are aimed at avoiding cognitive dissonance so that the population of Eastern Europe can’t look at monuments and remember their liberation from Nazi Germany by the Red Army, something which would call into doubt that the Russia is the historical, eternal enemy and aggressor.

Reformatting perceptions of historical facts is part of this long-term, quite complex project. It is impossible to do something like this over the course of the two months leading up to the summit. However, other efforts can be undertaken.

In the framework of the information war, Eastern European media regularly publishes materials on the placement of nuclear warheads in the Kaliningrad region. The very existence of this region as a subject of the Russian Federation is exhibited as a threat to the existence of neighboring countries. On the southern flank, such a role in the process of escalating the sense of danger is given to Transnistria. Thus, Kaliningrad scares the Baltic peoples and the Poles, while Transnistria is used to scare the Romanians and, to a lesser extent, Bulgarians.

The information war is being conducted systematically and professionally. Its beginning was linked to the necessity of preparing public opinion for the deployment of missile defense systems in Eastern Europe.

In connection with the process of normalizing relations between the West and Iran, NATO’s PR managers were forced to finally admit: the missile systems are aimed exclusively at the imaginary Russian threat.

Poland is attempting to play a leading role in the North and Baltic zones of the arms race in Eastern Europe. In turn, Romania is trying to seize the initiative in the Black Sea region. But everything there is all the more difficult since Turkey has acted as the leader of the anti-Russian coalition for more than half a year. This same Turkey that has displayed certain geopolitical ambitions.

Nonetheless, Bucharest is trying to use Washington’s lack of total trust in Erdogan and provide the Pentagon with alternative services. The initiative for creating a Black Sea combined NATO fleet participated in by those countries which are not yet members of the alliance, Ukraine and Georgia, as proposed by the Romanian Defense Minister Mihnea Motoc is an example of such an approach.

The summit’s preparation has been carefully watched by the American State Department. John Kerry’s deputy, Anthony Blinken, recently visited a number of Eastern European countries. The American official’s talks with his Eastern European colleagues boiled down to one thing: the former members of the Eastern Bloc should unreservedly support Washington’s position during the summit, especially regarding NATO’s military build up on the so-called eastern flank, and should bear the defense expenses on their state budgets.

Blinken emphasized that Russia intends to provoke NATO forces ahead of the summit. As proof behind his words, Blinken referred to the patrols of the Russian air forces over the Baltic Sea. However, he forgot to say that what caused the concern of the Russian Air Force was the presence of U.S. warships. But according to American officials, this is a trifle which is not worth bringing up in the conditions of information war.

Blinken made sure that the American president will feel comfortable in the Polish capital. In order to hold the summit in a good setting, the government in Warsaw, referring to a terrorist threat, passed a bill according to which the holding of any rallies or sickest is prohibited during the time of the extremely important international event that is the summit.

All of this has been done over concern for the well-being of the boss of the new, pro-American Europe, Barack Obama. The official expenses of the Polish defense ministry for holding the meeting of the alliance’s heads of state is $40 million. This information alone can really cause some misunderstanding and bring the citizens of the Polish capital to the picket lines during the summer days of the NATO summit.

http://katehon.com/article/mateusz-piskorski-liberation-poland-and-eur ope
On May 18th, the Polish political activist and scholar, Mateusz Piskorski, and his team were searched by the Polish police. Mateusz Piskorski was arrested on the suspicion of “spying”, and put in prison. Manuel Ochsenreiter, a German journalist, comments on the situation:

First of all, we have to say that Mateusz Piskorski was not just a politician and political scientist, but one of the leading organizers and masterminds of the idea of the de-Americanization of our European continent. I think this combination of high intellect and a high ability of organization certainly made him seen as a very dangerous person to the Polish government. The Polish government made up of seemingly “national conservatives” is in reality a neocon government which hates Muslims just as much as they hate Russians. And this purely neocon government perhaps secretly dreams about becoming the 52nd state of the US, given that they have invited US troops to their country. They are overly happy when the US builds rocket bases in Poland. Being a government inviting occupation forces, they want to be completely obedient towards these forces. Hence the attack on the work of Mateusz Piskorski, who was always for the liberation of Poland and Europe, one of the few intellectuals in Europe who saw the greater context…He always considered the whole of Europe in his concepts, and thus we can call him both a Polish and a European patriot. Today, we live in a Europe and in a time in which patriots are put in prison as spies. But if we consider a spy to be not only someone who delivers information to a foreign country, but also one who invites occupation forces and collaborates with them, then we can say that we are in fact governed by such people in Poland, Germany, Italy, and other EU countries.

Piskorski’s arrest on his 39th birthday on May 18th is not a coincidence. It was clear that the upcoming NATO summit planned for July in Warsaw would be a big event for the showcase of Piskorski’s opposition. Piskorski’s party is the only non-American party in Poland. If you are not pro-American, then they call you pro-Kremlin. But I want to say that he was not pro-Russian per say. He was a Polish and European patriot. Unfortunately, being critical of the US and the US occupation today means being called a pro-Kremlin agent, and this is exactly what happened to Mateusz Piskorski. Now he is being punished for expressing his opinion, his activism, and for the attractive way in which he presented his ideas. He was not a boring old scholar, but someone able to attract people and gather supporters. This made him dangerous for the government, and this is why he is in prison.

First of all, the accusations against him were nothing new. For many years, Mateusz Piskorski was under surveillance by the security authorities of Poland. The whole government in Poland, as in Germany, was and is pro-American. One is pro-American when he not only doesn’t reject US espionage and military presence, but outright invites them. It doesn’t matter what little vocal criticism there may be if you accept these things. In Poland, there is thus no difference between the conservatives, social-democrats, and liberals. They are all doing this. There is no genuinely Polish government capable of saying “we don’t want American troops.” As has happened historically, today’s Poland is in an alliance with the Anglo-Saxon powers only to be made into a front line of defense against big neighbors.

Piskorski was indeed the one who broke this “law.” He proposed a special, alternative path for Poland. This path was neither confrontation with Germany nor with Russia, but one of cooperating in a peaceful way. This is somewhat ironic because Piskorski has been portrayed as someone very aggressive who is looking for conflict. But his ideas were peaceful, albeit irreconcilable with the Anglo-Saxon powers and the USA.

This idea automatically implied the absence of the domination of these powers. Germany is already occupied, Poland is inviting its own occupation, and Russia has its own 5th column. These powers rule on a different scale, so the accusations against Mateusz Piskorski actually came from both the government and the liberal opposition parties who both agree on the so-called “necessity” of having American troops in the country.

The accusations against him are very blurry, and I can’t see where exactly is this “espionage.” The mass media wrote that he spoke to Russian TV about his ideas. I’m doing the same thing right now - I am speaking about his ideas on Russian TV, and also about my own. It is ridiculous to say that he is a spy. He was also accused for organizing something related to the referendum in Crimea. But where is the espionage there? Piskorski is not “guilty” for going to observe the referendum in Crimea after the OSCE refused to do so. After all, the Russian Federation invited them, but the OSCE refused. This is not Piskorski’s problem. It is ridiculous. To make up some case of espionage is completely ridiculous. If he were an agent, for sure he would not have appeared there. Mateusz Piskorski was always a man who stood for what he believed and presented himself for what he thinks. He never made a secret of this. Thus, he is not being punished for espionage, but for his own words and thoughts. This is happening right now in the same EU which loves to lecture the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and all other countries in the world about their “lack” of freedom of speech. But right now the EU accepts putting European citizens in prison just because of what they think. The EU accepts that the government is utilizing false accusations.

We have witnessed some signs, especially in the last weeks, that show us that the atmosphere is becoming more and more aggressive for people like us. Several months ago, the Americans said that they would help the EU authorities to track down Russian agents. They said: “European institutions need our help because evil Vladimir Putin is trying to influence politics in the EU.” What does this mean? These words came at the time when Germany was saying that “sanctions against Russia are very good, but not enough. We should also go after all those journalists and people inside the EU who are cooperating with Russian media.” It’s an easy thing to put sanctions on an individual. Taking one’s passport and creating obstacles are some of the many ways in which a person can be harassed. We have seen these ideas in practice in several incidents.

For example, recently there was the case of professor Alexander Dugin who was denied entry into Greece even though he is not on any sanctions list. Professor Dugin is not a Russian official, nor a businessman. Yet he was denied entry into an EU country. What does this tell us? Besides the fact that this is a scandal, it shows that nobody in the EU was afraid of professor Dugin importing weapons or bringing briefcases full of dollars. No, they were afraid of his ideas.

The same thing happened with Piskorski. He is not someone building an army. He is just a person who expresses his thoughts, whose detention reveals to us the panic in Brussels. Moreover, this is not only about the EU, but also NATO. Such thoughts as those of Piskorski and Dugin cause panic because they are so attractive for a growing number of young Europeans. Thus, NATO and the EU have to increase their defense if they want to keep these out. The cases of Dr. Dugin and Piskorski are also complemented by cases of imprisonment in the Czech Republic. This all shows us that the water is slowly being spoiled, but we are not jumping out.

We do not know what they will do with Piskorski. He has many friends who are united by the idea of de-Americanizing Europe. Yet the situation is becoming more and more difficult. This is not a case of espionage, but a case against the freedom of speech, free thought, and free press, i.e., basic human rights and freedoms.

The authoritarian regime in Brussels has shown its teeth and is biting. Although they often seem to be the “nice guys,” they are the evil ones who have now shown their ugly face to intimidate those who might dare to join their opponents.

Moscow threatens response as NATO encircles Russia

image: http://www.trunews.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/575aaa8ec46188e6328b 45b2.jpg
NATO

American warships entering the Black Sea will prompt “response measures” from Moscow, a top Russian diplomat has warned, adding that another US aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean is clearly an attempt to show force ahead of an upcoming NATO summit.
The USS Porter (DDG-7Cool, armed with assault cruise missiles and an Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System (primary weapon: Standard Missile 3), entered the Black Sea this week.
“American warships do enter the Black Sea now and then. Certainly, this does not meet with [Russia’s] approval and will undoubtedly lead to planning response measures,” Andrey Kelin, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s European Cooperation Department, told RIA Novosti on Friday.
He also disapproved of the deployment of the USS Harry S. Truman in the Mediterranean ahead of the NATO summit in Warsaw in July as muscle-flexing.
“There is nothing special about the movement of US vessels in this case. We know that aircraft carriers are moving in the Mediterranean Sea and elsewhere, they have a right to do so, this is freedom of navigation,” he said.
“But in general, this is a definite increase in [Russia-US] relations and all this is done ahead of the NATO summit in Warsaw – this is a demonstration of force,” he added.
The NATO summit will be held in Polish capital Warsaw on July 8-9, preceded by a series of large-scale war games in Eastern Europe and the Baltic states. The largest training exercise is taking place in Poland, where over 31,000 troops from 24 countries are taking part in NATO’s Anaconda 2016 war drills – the largest war games in Eastern Europe since the Cold War.
The Anaconda 2016 NATO military exercise involves 24 NATO and “partner nations,” including the US, the UK, Germany, Canada, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and others.
NATO has been signaling Moscow to hold another meeting ahead of the Warsaw gathering, although Russia is still considering the proposal and a final decision has not been made yet, Kelin said.
US-led NATO has been in more frequent contact with the Russian military following the disruption of relations that resulted from the reunification of the Crimea Peninsula with Russia in March 2014.
NATO decided to break off all contact with Russia in 2014, when Viktor Yanukovych was ousted as Ukraine’s president during the so-called Euromaidan riots. A NATO-Russia Council meeting was held in June 2014, but the council was then subject to a lengthy break and meetings have only recently restarted.
“We will see how things move forward. But overall, we can absolutely not give up on the most important channel of cooperation and dialogue,” RIA Novosti quoted Kelin as saying.

British troops to defend Baltics against Russia in new Nato mission
Nato
British paratroops took part in a Nato airdrop in Poland last week
Matthew Holehouse, brussels Ben Farmer, defence correspondent
14 JUNE 2016 • 9:50PM
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/06/14/british-troops-to-defend-ba ltics-against-russia-in-new-nato-miss/

Hundreds of British troops are to be deployed to eastern Europe, the Defence Secretary announced, under a major Nato operation to deter any Russian aggression.

A battalion of five hundred soldiers is to be deployed to Estonia, supported by a company each from Denmark and France.

The highly-mobile British-led battle group will act a trip-wire, in a move intended to warn Moscow that any incursion into the Baltic state would trigger a full response from the 28-member alliance.

Similar deployments are planned across the Russian frontier, led by the German Bundeswehr in Lithuania, the United States in Poland and Canada in Latvia.

Around 150-200 British troops will be deployed to Poland to train local forces.

Military planners are increasingly unnerved by Russian behaviour in the region, including the buzzing of US ships by Su24 jets in the Baltic Sea.

“It should send a very strong signal of unity and our determination to defend the Baltic states and Poland in the face of continued Russian aggression,” said Michael Fallon, the Defence Secretary.

Fallon
Michael Fallon on RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus
In the event of a military emergency, the British taskforce could be supported by a Nato high-readiness "spearhead" brigade of 5,000 men.

“They won’t be left out to dry. They can be reinforced very rapidly,” Mr Fallon said.

“We have implemented the biggest reinforcement of our collective defence since the end of the Cold War,” said Jens Stoltenberg, the Nato Secretary General.

The strategy – known as “enhanced forward presence” - is a far lighter footprint than in the Cold War, when the United States alone had 300,000 troops stationed in Europe. Poland wants a much firmer response.

Moscow, which claims to be the victim of Nato “encirclement”, responded by announcing a snap inspection of its armed forces.

General Sir Nick Carter, head of the Army, told a Defence Select Committee yesterday that Britain was in a “era of constant competition” with Russia.

He said: “I think the boundaries between peace and war are now much more blurred than they once were.”

A British Army source said: “There’s been a growing feeling in the past 12 months that we can’t just ignore Russia. There’s a lot of thought going into the difference between deterrence and provocation.

“Russia feels like it’s being encircled and in the wake of the Cold War you can see where that comes from. But at the same time everyone thinks Russia was only able to annex Crimea and do what it did in Ukraine because it felt there was no cost or consequence. We have to change that."

The Treasury claims a Brexit would trigger a recession, and Mr Fallon said that would imply cuts to defence spending, even if the Nato target of two per cent of GDP were protected.

Nato

"Of course the percentage would be the same but the spending figure would be smaller, yes,” he told the Telegraph.

"Spending on pensions, all sorts of public services, including defence could be at risk. That really matters here. This is a very dangerous moment.”

"No country has ever left either Nato or the EU which are the twin pillars of our security - Nato with military might and the European Union with the economic muscle and the legal power to enforce sanctions.

"For a major country like Britain to leave either of those partnership would weaken the collective security of the west. I would hope voters think very, very hard about the real risks to our security of voting to leave."

"Solidarni 2010" handing leaflets at NATO Summit basically claiming that Tusk & Putin plotted Smolensk.

Quote:
We publish the full text of the informational materials, signed by Stow. Solidarni2010, by an expert committee investigation of the Smolensk disaster Glenn Jorgensen, which are distributed among the participants of the NATO summit and among accredited journalists.

THE DEATH OF THE POLISH PRESIDENT IN RUSSIA – 10 IV 2010

EVIDENCE DISPROVES PUTIN’S INVESTIGATION OF THE SMOLENSK CRASH.

THE PRESIDENT OF A NATO COUNTRY AND 10 NATO GENERALS WERE KILLED.

On the 10th of April 2010 a TU-154M aircraft from the Polish Air Force crashed in the city of Smolensk, Russia, killing all 96 people on board on their journey to Katyn. These included President of Poland Lech Kaczyński and his wife Maria, former President of Poland in exile Ryszard Kaczorowski, the founder of the Solidarity movement Anna Walentynowicz, the chief of the Polish General Staff and 9 other leading Polish NATO Generals.

The Polish President and the vast majority of the passengers on board were known as patriots of Poland and many were in opposition to the Polish government lead by Prime Minister Donald Tusk from the P.O. party.

Plan to visit Katyn was changed by Putin and Donald Tusk.

Originally the visit to Katyn was planned as a common memorial of participants from the entire Polish political spectrum including the Polish president and Polish prime minister from their different respective opposite political platforms. The plan was to meet with the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the Russian Prime Minister Mendelev on the 10th of April 2010 memorizing the dreadful assassination of 22.000 Polish officers captured and killed in cold blood by the Russian soldiers in 1940. Shortly before Putin changed the plan and instead invited Donald Tusk for the 7th of April, which he accepted.

Putin and Donald Tusk overruled the bilateral agreement from 1993.

As outlined in the bilateral agreement between Russia and Poland from 1993 the two countries started the investigations together. This lasted three days until former Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Vladimir Putin agreed to exchange the Russian and Polish investigators with a new team of investigators from the Russian Federation under Putin’s leadership without Polish participation.

In short Putin’s investigators concluded: The pilots claimed they would do a go-around, abort the landing procedure and fly away, but instead continued the descent in auto pilot mode in three channels controlling pitch, roll and thrust. Then they hit some trees in a valley about 1.5km before the runway without damaging the aircraft, the aircraft started to climb and hit a 30-40cm birch tree 5m above the ground. According to Putin’s investigators the tree cut off about 5.5m of the left wing tip, they claim this caused the aircraft to roll and hit the muddy ground at a shallow (6deg) angle about 340m further downstream to the left of the runway. Russians further claim all people onboard were killed by more than 100G during the ground impact.

Biased Russian “Investigation”.

Normally any hypothesis should fit evidence, not the contrary. In Putin’s so called investigation evidence is proven manipulated to fit the Russian hypothesis and disagrees with the laws of physics in a number of ways:

 Parts of the left wing were found more than 30m before the tree Russians claimed cut the wing.

 The tree is proven much too weak to cut the wing. This is documented in a peer reviewed scientific paper.

 The recorded roll of the aircraft is proven inconsistent with the claimed loss of wing.

 The aircraft would not roll over and crash if only 5.5m wing was lost.

 The claimed trajectory of the aircraft disagrees with black box data.

 A human hand was found one meter into the ground underneath the left rear passenger door also buried

into the ground.

 The aircraft hit the muddy ground with a shallow angle and a low vertical speed of impact. No explanation is

given as to why the aircraft under such conditions and against common experience could break into

estimated 60.000 parts

 The aircraft broke into estimated 60.000 parts and people onboard experienced more than 100G impact

without the formation of a crater or other signs of impact into the soft ground. This disagrees with Newton’s

third law of action and reaction.

 A big number of parts of the aircraft were found into the ground even 100m before the crash site.

 Clothes had been torn off a large number of passengers. This is common in cases of large shear forces

associated with extreme wind velocities as by blasts.

 Bodies were brought to Poland in sealed coffins, and against Polish law families were forbidden to open the

coffins.

 6 exhumations have years later proven the coffins contained the wrong bodies in all cases.

 Severe and significant errors were present in the Russian autopsy reports.

 During the ruling by Donald Tusk the Polish prosecutors have obstructed the investigations by forbidding the

families to have independent autopsies performed, by forbidding the families to open the sealed coffins after

they returned, and by neglecting to obtain and include relevant data made available to them.

 The area before and after the birch tree show no impact from a jet blast.

 It is physically not possible for the aircraft to be in the claimed position of collision with the birch tree. The

tail would dig into the ground.

 Direction of wing cut was not in the direction of the flight.

 The front edge of the wing in the line of cut was completely undamaged.

 The fuselage shows signs of a high internal pressure opening it prior to it hitting the ground.

 Black box data show the occurrence of not just one but at least two significant losses of lifting power (wing

area).

Conclusion.

A significant amount of heavy evidence disagree with the Russian investigation of the Smolensk Crash on the 10 th of April 2010 lead by Vladimir Putin, disproving the Russian hypothesis of pilot error and controlled flight into terrain.
