Smart, never would have got that one. Just one question - should I now investigate the possibility that not only murdertown but also killtown is a gravy sockpuppet?

I don't lump all our critics together as an homogenous mass. I know some can be worth the effort to engage with, but believe me, I would rather stick pins my eyes than waste my time trading insults with you and your ilk. |

The JREF forums are a waste of time. They're populated with a number of intellectually insecure egomaniacs who think "skepticism" amounts to dogmatic adherence to government and mainstream media accounts of history. They grant nothing, concede nothing, and when they aren't busy ridiculing anyone who tries to portray an alternative account, or a reason for truly being skeptical, they are patting each other on the back for their creative insults and implications of bigotry or anti-semitism.
I would point out that that a JREF member, delphi_ote, started a thread about Loose Change which spured their little movement against skeptics of the official 911 conspiracy theory. I exposed the fact that he didn't even watch the film in its entirety, only the first thirty minutes. Of course, this didn't stop himself or others there from criticizing a film they didn't watch. This includes "chipmunk stew".
I would also point out that for some reason the moderators there decided to truncate the Loose Change thread arbitrarily, which has resulted in four seperate threads, citing that it was for "accessibility". But what could possibly be gained by creating four arbitrary indices when this isn't much different than having one massive thread indexed by page number? I can tell you that the net result is that threads 1-3 (including my original posts) have been virtually consigned to the dustbin, as even though links are provided to them they are of course locked.
I do lurk there from time to time, as I think it is important to understand the mindset of proponents and supporters of the government story. This doubly so, as of course the mainstream media creates the perception that what happend on 9/11 isn't even an issue in the minds of Americans, and the world.
Most of the JREF posters seem to believe that anyone who doesn't think as they do, or conform to their definition of "skeptic" is intellectually inferior. This might otherwise be offensive to me, if I didn't realize that in fact they spend most of their time debunking bigfoot, ghost stories, psychics, and claims of extra-terrestrial visitors on earth. |
