G4S Plc’s approach to the vetting of its security personnel is under scrutiny after it emerged that Florida nightclub killer Omar Mateen had been employed by the world’s biggest guarding company for almost a decade.
Mateen, who declared his allegiance to terror group Islamic State in the hours before the largest mass shooting in U.S. history, had been working at a gated retirement community prior to the deaths in Orlando, G4S confirmed Monday, sending its stock tumbling to the lowest intraday price since March 2009.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation had studied Mateen twice, each time dropping its enquiries, according to an agency spokesman. U.K.-based G4S said it had learned of the FBI’s interest in 2013 but was unaware of any further probe, adding that the 29-year-old had cleared its own internal processes.
“Mateen underwent company screening and background checks when he was recruited in 2007 and the check revealed nothing of concern,” G4S said. “His screening was repeated in 2013 with no findings. We were not made aware of any alleged connections between Mateen and terrorist activities.”

Mateen, a U.S. citizen who died in a gun battle with police after killing 50 people and wounding 53 at the gay dance venue Sunday, was given a psychometric test called the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory before being hired, G4S said. Checks of his identification documents, employment history, right to work and criminal records also revealed nothing of concern.
About 15 percent of G4S’s U.S.-based workers are re-screened each year according to standard practice, the company said. As an “armed security official” Mateen was also required to carry a weapon and received a license from the State of Florida, which makes its own evaluation of an applicant’s personal history, and underwent several hours of firearms training, it said.
‘Shocked’
G4S, whose clients in more than 100 countries include the U.S. government, said it’s cooperating with the FBI investigation of the Florida massacre.
“We are shocked and saddened by the tragic event that occurred at the Orlando nightclub,” John Kenning, the company’s chief executive officer for North America, said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the friends, families and people affected by this unspeakable tragedy.”
Shares of G4S fell as much as 8.1 percent when trading began Monday. The stock had already declined 34 percent in 12 months, dropping the most in three years on March 9 after a wave of migrants to the U.K. led to increased losses on a contract to house asylum seekers.
G4S also failed to supply enough security guards for the 2012 Olympics in London, forcing the government to deploy members of the armed services in order to make up the numbers and prompting the company’s then CEO to admit that its reputation was “in tatters.”
Tagging Charge
The Crawley, England-based company later took a financial hit over claims that it overcharged authorities for electronic tagging of criminals. More recently, it suspended seven staff at a juvenile correctional facility after allegations that guards used excessive force and one child was stabbed with a fork.
G4S was consistently one of the biggest contractors with the U.S. federal government after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, mostly with the departments of Homeland Security and State, according to Kevin Brancato, an analyst with Bloomberg Government. The firm’s deals with the government shrank to $89.3 million in 2015, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
The company employs 611,000 people worldwide, running prisons, providing security at airports and ports, and managing cash transports, according to its website. Its U.S. headquarters are in Jupiter, Florida, about 150 miles southeast of Orlando.
“They are a considerably smaller player in the federal space than they used to be,” Brancato said.
Born in New York to Afghan parents, Mateen was licensed as a security guard in Florida, according to state records. Mateen was married in 2009 and divorced in 2011, a woman who identified herself as Mateen’s ex-wife told the Washington Post on the condition that her name not be used.
G4S was priced 5.6 percent lower at 177 pence as of 12:37 p.m. in London, reducing the company’s market value to 2.75 billion pounds ($3.9 billion). _________________ --

Western media are likely to emphasise the Isis angle because it feeds into popular fear of a vast Isis-led conspiracy that menaces every home in the US and Europe. This is scarcely surprising since it is the worst terrorist attack in the US since 9/11, but it is worth keeping mind that the casualties in Orlando are much less than the 200 killed last month by Isis suicide bombers in and around Baghdad over a four day period and a further 150 in the Syrian cities of Tartous and Jableh on 23 May.
These massacres were barely reported by the Western media which tends to under-cover or over-cover Isis actions, depending on whether Americans or Europeans are among the dead. This gives a distorted picture of the degree of danger posed by Isis, which at times appears to be on the wane and at others is exaggerated by round-the-clock news coverage to seem like a threat to our very existence.

Rohrabacher was initially elected to Congress in 1988, with the fundraising help of friend Oliver North. Rohrabacher’s decades-long involvement in “all things Afghan” eventually earned him the nickname “Gunga Dana.” Today he chairs the United States House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia and Emerging Threats.
This morning President Obama called him a “home-grown” terrorist. In a series of phone interviews Monday morning, Donald Trump responded that “there’s something going on” with the President’s reaction to the Orlando shooting.

My own suspicion was first awakened on Monday morning when U.S. news outlets uniformly reported that the father’s TV show aired on “a U.S.-based Afghan satellite channel.”

The identification of shooter Omar Mateen also involved deception. He was said to work for a security company called G4S, which few have ever heard of. However, “G4S” is merely a re-branded “Wackenhut Corporation,” a name with a storied reputation for scandal in the U.S. and around the world.

A New York Times report cited a senior federal law enforcement official as saying that the FBI was looking at reports that the 29-year-old had used a gay dating app.
Patrons of club Pulse were quoted as saying that he had visited the club several times.
Yusufiy said her ex-husband had told her that he frequented nightclubs before their wedding, but did not say they were gay clubs.
CBS News said in a report that club-goers had told the investigators that Mateen was at Pulse previously.
The Orlando Sentinel and other news organizations also quoted regular customers at the gay bar as saying they had seen Mateen there a number of times.
“Sometimes he would go over in the corner and sit and drink by himself, and other times he would get so drunk he was loud and belligerent,” said Ty Smith, a patron at the bar. Smith said he saw Mateen inside the club at least a dozen times.
Marriage marred by violence, isolation
Yusufiy, during an interview at her home in Colorado, said Mateen had seemed “perfect — American enough for her free spirit and Muslim enough to please her traditional family.
“This man was a simple, Americanized guy that was also from my culture. And, you know, had the same religion,” she said.
“So I was like, OK , this could potentially satisfy my parents.”
Yusufiy moved to Florida, and they married in a quiet courthouse ceremony in 2009. But the short-lived marriage was marred by violence and isolation, she said.
She had no friends or family in Florida, and Mateen preferred that she stay in the house.
She said he sometimes returned from work angry and agitated, including one night when she fell asleep on the floor waiting for him to return home.
“All I remember is being woken up by a pillow being taken from under my head,” she said. “I hit my head on the ground and then he started pulling my hair. He almost killed me. Because he started choking me. And I somehow got out of it and I tried to tackle him.”
The couple separated within a year, and in 2011 Mateen filed for divorce, the NYT report said.
Terrorism watch list
The report added that Mateen was one of the people the FBI had spoken to after Moner Mohammad Abusalha, a young American from Florida drove a truck packed with explosives into a hilltop restaurant in Syria in May 2014.
Mateen had attended the same mosque as Abusalha and they knew each other “casually.” He was also on a terrorism watch list for incendiary comments he once made to co-workers at a local courthouse.
The NYT said early examination of Mateen’s life “reveals a hatred of gay people and a stew of contradictions. He was a man who could be charming, loved Afghan music and enjoyed dancing, but he was also violently abusive.”

Below are some anomalies — the pieces that don’t fit — in the official narrative of the deadliest shooting in U.S. history at the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in the early morning hours of June 12, 2016, which left 49 dead and 53 wounded.
1. EYEWITNESSES REPORT MULTIPLE SUSPECTS
We are told there was only one shooter, 29-year-old Omar Mateen who, according to his ex-wife, turns out to be a homosexual himself who frequented gay bars and had a gay hookup app, Grindr.
The problem is at least three eyewitnesses who were in the Pulse nightclub at the time of the shooting, all said there was more than one suspect.
Eyewitness #1: In an audio interview (below), after an eyewitness said, “There was a guy there that was trying to…prevent the door, like hold the door closed so that we couldn’t exit,” he was abruptly cut off.
Eyewitness #2: Another eyewitness said the shooting lasted “like eight minutes.” Beginning at the 0:29 mark in video below, when asked by the reporter if there was “somebody else,” the eyewitness said: “I’m pretty sure it was more than one person. Like I said, I heard two guns going at the same time.”
Later, at the 1:41 mark, as he described how he and some 50 other patrons were trying to flee the club, jammed in a narrow pathway, he also said there was a second suspect — “a guy kind of holding door,” preventing them from exiting.
Eyewitness #3: A victim of the shooting who played dead for several hours during the attack as a way to stay alive, told an ABC reporter after he was discharged from a local hospital that he had overheard a phone conversation made by the shooter, in which the shooter said he was the “fourth shooter” and that there were “three others” — “snipers” and a “female suicide bomber”. A man named Luis Burbano claims to be an eyewitness in the club and was interviewed by several media outlets, including ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos.
It turns out eyewitness Luis Burbano is a professional actor. He has a profile on IMDb . Below are side-by-side comparison of Luis Burbano in the ABC interview (left) and Luis Burbano on IMDb. It’s the same man.

4. PRE-DATED TWEETS AND NEWS REPORTS
As in Sandy Hook, there are tweets and news articles about the Orlando shooting which are dated June 11, 2016, a day BEFORE the shooting.
As mainstream media headlines begin to solidify around the narrative a single shooter was responsible for the carnage at Pulse nightclub in Orlando on Sunday, details calling the now-official story into question must be addressed.
While no doubts can be raised Omar Mateen, indeed, played a role in the attack, eyewitness accounts — while varied and certainly subjective, considering the chaos unfolding at the time — don’t unanimously agree he acted alone.
“I mean, I’m pretty sure it was more than one person,” witness Janiel Gonzalez told a bevy of reporters. “Like I said, I heard two guns going off at the same time,” he continued, gesturing back and forth with his fingers indicating the gunfire emanated from separate directions.
Further, he explained, panicked clubgoers had difficulty locating exits during the shooting, which he estimated lasting eight minutes — plenty of time for the shooter(s) to reload multiple times. When Gonzalez and others finally found a door hidden behind a curtain,
“There was probably like 50 people trying to jump over each other just trying to exit the place, and there was a guy holding the door. The guy was holding the door and not letting us exit.”
When they asked why he was blocking their only way out — as the shooting seemed to be drawing near — Gonzalez said the man told them, “No, you guys have to stay inside. Stay inside.” Desperate, the group demanded he move to give them safe passage — but the man’s steadfast refusal to do so provoked a serious question.
As Gonzalez explained, the fact there was a semi-automatic rifle, and not a handgun, employed in the shooting, he realized this must be a hate crime — and then he “put two and two together, and I was like, this guy’s trying to prevent us from leaving the club. Maybe they’re working together.”
Fox News’ Megyn Kelly actually interviewed the man, Luis Burbano, who admitted to blocking the exit, asking, “You were holding the doors so that the shooter could not get out, but was there any concern that, you know, you might be keeping the people fleeing the shooter from getting out?”
“Yeah, um … yeah. That was on my mind. There was banging, there was pushing on the door. That was on my mind; but at that point in time, I just tried doing what I thought would be best at that moment,” because, as he explained, the door opened into an alleyway which was extremely narrow and would have created a juggernaut. Burbano also worried he might be opening the door to the shooter, so felt by holding it shut, he would prevent the attacker’s escape.
So, while Burbano’s actions were perhaps motivated by ‘doing the right thing,’ he directly endangered the lives of others trapped inside. Was he working in concert with the attacker or attackers? Probably not. Should he face consequences for blocking one of the only safe means for people to escape an active shooter? Without a doubt.
As for the description possibly more than one shooter had been involved, Gonzalez actually wasn’t alone.
A second witness described in an interview aired on the Today Show, “It had to have been more than one person, too, because [the gunfire] was just too continuous … It’s like you’re at a gun range and all you hear is just, BOOM, bang, bang … I can’t even describe it.”
In footage captured by multiple witnesses outside the club, police appear to be engaging in an exchange of gunfire with an unknown subject. Mateen, however, was killed inside the club, according to most accounts.
“They’re shooting back and forth,” the person taping video can be heard saying over a volley of gunfire in the background. “Oh. My. God. They’re all shooting back and forth.”
Could this also lend credence to accounts of multiple attackers?
Yet another eyewitness to the massacre has come forward to describe the events for ABC News’ 20/20 — and his detailed account could be critical. After Mateen collected the hostages’ phones, according to the witness, he called either law enforcement or a news station and said, “America needs to stop bombing ISIS … in Syria.”
“Then he called somebody else that he knew,” the man recalled, “and he mentioned that he was the fourth shooter, and there was [sic] three others, and mentioned, I believe a female name, that was playing dead and she has a bombing vest and he has one, too. And then he said there was three snipers out there waiting for cops to come so the snipers would shoot at the cops.”
And even another witness to the events has described the situation as one of multiple shooters. Noting the sheer number of gun shots ringing out, the witness was asked by Infowars, “So, you believe there was more than one gunman there?”
“I believe that,” the young man replied, “because that’s kind of impossible, to me, for one person with two handguns firing off.” He also described seeing Mateen’s picture on social media, and said the suspect central to the investigation did not appear to have the physical build to employ the two weapons necessary to account for the barrage of gunfire he heard.
“He couldn’t manage to fire off two guns,” he surmised.
Decide for yourself, as always, what such accounts — which contradict the now-uniform mainstream narrative — might mean.
But remember, as well, questioning what you’re being spoon fed by the government and corporate media is in no way disrespectful of the victims. Rather, it is out of respect for the dead and injured that appropriate parties be held accountable — and factual accuracy is imperative in order that justice be served appropriately.

'Santa Monica; Two police officers who wish to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation say that James Wesley Howell, an Indiana man who was found with a car full of explosives and weapons on Sunday morning, told police he was part of a team that planned shooting attacks on gay communities in Florida and California.
Howell told police he was turning himself in because he wanted protection. His story was that he had been assured by his recruiters that he would not be harmed in the shooting but, when he heard on the news that Omar Mateen, the lead gunman in the Orlando group, had been killed by sniper fire, he realized he was being set up as a patsy and would be killed.

It is important to remember that the police officers who are the source of this story choose to remain anonymous, so it cannot be independently verified at this time, but circumstantial evidence supports it. For example:
(1) After the FBI took charge of the investigation, Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks changed her original report that Howell was part of a group of five people who intended to do harm at the gay-pride event in West Hollywood. Her altered report made no mention of anyone other than Howell.
(2) The web site that reported this story is still carrying the article without triggering legal action against it. That is significant because, if the story is false, immediate legal action would be expected. If it is true, Howell will be killed or ‘disappeared’ to prevent him from talking, but the last thing the perpetrators would want is a public trial where witnesses can be called to testify.

This audio recording, which was captured from a balcony across the street from the club, reveals the minutes the SWAT team entered the club. Hundreds of shot-like sounds occur throughout the clip, and no doubt, many of these noises involve the team exchanging fire with Mateen. A lot of the noises were likely flashbangs as well, but the overall effect is enormous.

The shooting in Orlando, Florida, is not about homosexuals, or Muslims, or assault rifles.
It is about waging aggressive warfare overseas, empowering the domestic police state, and electing a warmongering President.
Dr. Graeme McQueen, founding member of the Centre for Peace Studies at McMaster University, Canada and author of The 2001 Anthrax Deception, argues that the prime suspects in any such case should be intelligence agencies.
We don’t have to go far to see the hand of intelligence agencies in this catastrophe. The shooter himself was an employee of G4S, described by journalist Alex Emmons as “a giant, often controversial global contracting corporation that provides mercenary forces, prison guards and security services.”
Additionally, the shooter’s father is said to be a CIA asset.
Given that Intelligence agencies are well-positioned to engineer synthetic terror threats, author Naomi Wolf argues that it is “crazy” not to question new events, since “spectacles” drive “outcomes”. Further, she observes that propagandizing the public includes films (i.e. “Zero Dark Thirty”) – arguing that the Pentagon must have “signed off” on it —which indirectly seek to “normalize” intelligence operations such as torture and mass surveillance.
Intelligence operatives know that synthetic terror events shock and anesthetize the public; that they make people susceptible to manipulation; and that they lay the groundwork for the terror event to be easily politicized.
Naomi Klein describes the same dynamic in The Shock Doctrine. When people are shocked by a real or man-made event, they can be easily manipulated to support wars, or neoliberal market schemes, or any number of toxic agendas.
A simple formula underpins these operations: problem, reaction, solution.
The problem from the perspective of criminal warmongers is that the public doesn’t want war or a police state. The intended reaction of the operation is that the synthetic terror event will induce people to seek protection from the state, coupled with aggressive war to bomb the threat out of existence. Sources within the Santa Monica police department claim that James Wesley Howell, an Indiana man who was caught with explosives and weapons on Sunday Morning, told the Santa Monica police that as many as five people were involved in planned attacks on gay communities in both Florida and California.
According to the LA Times, Santa Monica Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks initially said on Twitter that the 20-year-old Indiana man (James Howell) told one of her officers after he was arrested that he wanted “to harm the Gay Pride event.”
However, after the FBI quickly took over the case, a Santa Monica police spokesman Saul Rodriguez indicated that Seabrooks was mistaken and offered that the Santa Monica detectives who were working the case are “not aware of what the suspect’s intentions were at this point.”
The official version of this story released by the LA Times falsely claims that on early Sunday, Santa Monica police received a call about a suspected prowler who was knocking on a resident’s door and window about 5 a.m. in the 1700 block of 11th Street, Santa Monica police said.
Patrol officers responded and encountered Howell, who was sitting in a car registered in Indiana, police said. Officers inspected the car and found three assault rifles, high-capacity ammunition and a 5-gallon bucket containing “chemicals capable of forming an improvised explosive device,” police said.
A law enforcement source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the contents of the bucket included Tannerite, an ingredient that could be used to create pipe bombs.
The source, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the ongoing investigation, said authorities also found camouflage clothing in the car.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said the suspect told police he was going to the Pride parade to look for a friend. Authorities were looking for that individual.

According to two department sources, Howell called the Santa Monica police on Sunday morning claiming that he needed protection from the CIA. Howell further elaborated to the dispatcher stating that he “had been set up by the CIA – they are going to kill me.”
According to Howell, he was in LA to meet with another person in a collaborated attack on the gay communities in both Florida and Los Angeles.
Howell additionally stated that, “everything has gone south. Dan was gone when I got here. They killed the leader of the Florida attack this morning. They are going to kill me. I need protection.”
According to sources within the police department’s investigation Howell indicated to officers who first made contact with him that Howell claimed he was one of five people involved in a planned Sunday attack on both the east and west coasts.

Speaking of the suspect killed in the Pulse Bar massacre in Florida, Howell stated, “Omar was not suppose to be killed. They lied to us – Omar and Brandy were suppose to get away.”
When Howell was questioned about how he and his conspirators knew each other, he said that,
“We were all familiar with each other through an online fundamental Islamic knowledge seminary course[1] – we were recruited through the course and trained together at a camp in Virginia – we were taught how to shoot and make bombs – everyone knew their part – something went wrong….”

It is important to remember that the police officers who are the source of this story choose to remain anonymous, so it cannot be independently verified at this time, but circumstantial evidence supports it. For example:
(1) After the FBI took charge of the investigation, Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks changed her original report that Howell was part of a group of five people who intended to do harm at the gay-pride event in West Hollywood. Her altered report made no mention of anyone other than Howell.
(2) The web site that reported this story is still carrying the article without triggering legal action against it. That is significant because, if the story is false, immediate legal action would be expected. If it is true, Howell will be killed or ‘disappeared’ to prevent him from talking, but the last thing the perpetrators would want is a public trial where witnesses can be called to testify.
This news story could be one of the most important reports ever published in the annals of journalism.
That’s quite a statement but, when you consider the nature of its content, it is no exaggeration to say that it has the potential to fundamentally change the relationship between the United States government and the American people, and that could lead to a profound change, not only in America, but the entire world.
The story still is still unfolding, and it is likely that officialdom either will pull it off the Internet or do everything possible to discredit it but, unlike most false-flag scenarios, there are many people on the outside of the plot who can verify the accuracy of this one. Well, what are the chances of the police actually miraculously getting a call about a stalker knocking on windows, (as the official lie goes) only to find out he was armed to the teeth, within hours of Mateen dying and connected to Mateen? ZILCH.

Omar - gay?
The suspect is Omar Mateen.
Omar Mateen's ex-wife says of Omar:
"He was violent and mentally unstable
"He wasn't very religious and worked out at the gym often.
"She said in the few months they were married he gave no signs of having fallen under the sway of radical Islam.
"She said he owned a small-caliber handgun and worked as a guard at a nearby facility for juvenile delinquents."
'Patience Carter paints a picture for us, what she thinks being in a massacre would have been like. That's a reporter's job. You didn't know she was a reporter for FOX news? They didn't tell you? Why would they not have mentioned in her dramatic story of "survival", that she is a reporter from FOX news?
Nearly all of the popularized "mass shootings" shown in the mass entertainment media, have been proven to be faked, theatric events - staged for crass political gain. Here, we are supposed to believe that some crazed Muslim through his life away to make a point about homosexuality. This, just as Obama seeks new momentum for his wars in the Middle East. Will the Pulse Night Club Gay Massacre be an exception to this rule?

Truthissweet has just posted a new topic entitled "Orlando Shooting Hoax" in forum "Latest News".
I have spent many hours on this. The best way to present this is by posting links to the work.
This case is special to me as I reside in an area where three featured people in this hoax have ties. Ron Legler, John Cilladi and Akyra Murray.
I am battling the local paper to include the featured writers and management. They have done absolutely nothing other than present the official story.
I have evidence that I can't post because I could get in trouble because it is not available in online public records. For one of those mentioned above, it is very damning. I gave the newspaper that info off-the-record. I told them to take it farther. Put it this way, they know I'm right but can't do anything about it. They know their job(s) would be on the line. Sad.
The threads speak for themselves. A lot of info that shows this hoax is similar to Sandy Hook. The perps did a lousy job. Horrible acting. Enjoy reading and watching the videos. I still have a lot of work to do on this case.
These 'survivors' and 'victims' are not nice people. They sold-out in the name of greed. Just like 9/11 thru Belgium. It is worth the many hours to research this case.

Orlando Killer Worked Inside the Global Security System

The Orlando mass murderer, Omar Mateen, worked for G4S, one of the largest private security employers in the world. G4S has some 625,000 employees spanning five continents in more than 120 countries. As a private security company it provides services for both governments as well as corporations. Some of its well-known contractors are with the British Government, the United States, Israel, Australia and many more. G4S providers a range of services in the areas of corrections, policing, and security of important facilities. In the corporate sector it has worked with such well-known companies such as Chrysler, Amtrak, Apple, and the Bank of America.
A statement from G4S, published by The Independent June 12 says that: “We are shocked and saddened by the tragic even that occurred at the Orlando nightclub. We can confirm that Omar Mateen had been employed with G4S since Sept 10 2007. We are cooperating fully with all law enforcement authorities, including the FBI, as they conduct their investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the friends, families, and people affected by this unspeakable tragedy.”
Mateen worked with the company since 2007. G4S provides security personnel for the Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Protection at the US-Mexico border, and helps transport undocumented immigrants from urban areas.
Mass killings like the one in Orlando directly benefit private security firms like G4S by increasing fears and demands for higher security services. Estimates are that over $200 billion is spent on private security globally with higher amounts expected yearly. The industry currently employs some 15 million people worldwide.
G4S offers security guards, alarms, management and transportation of cash and valuables, prison management, and electronic monitoring of offenders in 120 countries worldwide. They are the second largest private employer in the world. Their annual revenue in 2014 was $10.5 billion. Increasingly G4S operates in “complex environments” and accepts jobs national armies are not trained to do like land mine clearance, and military security in active war zones.
Chevron Oil in Nigeria contracts with G4S for counter insurgency operations that deploy armed groups of fast-response mercenaries both on land and on delta water patrol boats mounted with machine guns. G4S maintains a similar operation in South Sudan. G4S also provides surveillance equipment to checkpoints and prisons in Israel.
G4S has been plagued with problems in the last decade, most noticeably with the botched contract at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. They failed to provide the 10,000 plus trained employees they had promised under contract. Instead G4S had roughly 2,000 people properly trained, with many more getting only a few weeks’ worth of preparation. The result led to the British Military being called in to provide security with some 13,000 troops alongside G4S.
In June of 2014, G4S was accused of violently removing protesters from outside its own offices in London, a claim the company denies, and a few months after that G4S had to pay $100,000 for unlawfully restraining youths in a secure training facility. In 2011, a double amputee was improperly secured in one of G4S’s ambulance services and died when the unsecured wheelchair tipped over backwards as he was being transported to the hospital. It was found that the G4S staff was not sufficiently trained to move patients safely from their homes to hospitals. And as far back as 2004, a 15-year-old died when three G4S employees at Rainsbrook Secure Training Center restrained him. None of the officers were charged in that incident.
G4S is a transnational security company in direct service to the global corporations and the transnational capitalist class. G4S protects capital and assets around the world and is increasingly taking a private military style approach as needed. As a multi-billion-dollar public company major investors come from the financial core of the transnational capitalist class including; Blackrock, UBS, Vanguard, Barclays, State Street, Allianz, J.P. Morgan Chase, Credit Suisse, and FMR. Even the State of California and New York have holdings in G4S. Nine of the thirteen largest most connected money management firms and banks in the world have direct investments holdings in G4S. Omnicom, the largest public relations and propaganda firm in the world, handles media for G4S and undoubtedly is currently in full crisis management mode to protect the company and minimalize links to Omar Mateen.
G4S is a part of neoliberal imperialism that is leading to the substitution of and privatization of state police. Inside G4S’s 625,000 employees are undoubtedly a number of reactionary individuals with extreme racist, homophobic, and xenophobic feelings similar to Omar Mateen. These folks are armed walking time bombs that can individually or collectively unleash disruption and chaos on humans anywhere in the world. The resulting chaos and fear will be used to justify even more demands for private security, including even martial law, all resulting in improved profits for G4S.
