Why were people jumping out of the world trade centre?

If the fires in the world trade centre were at a low temperture, why were there people jumping out of the towers? It must of been hot for them to jump! Has this got something to do with explosive set in the building? There is a picture of someone standing in the hole were one of the planes has hit the towers, so was it hot or not? This is a bit of a contradiction.....

I'm no physicist, but I should think fires hot enough to burn paper and office furniture are too hot for the human body to stand, even though not hot enough to burn steel.

there was smoke too. If you can't breathe, you would have gone to the window. If too many people went to the window.........

Maybe some didn't jump.

Were was the smoke coming from, on the lower levels?

What evidence do you have that anybody jumped out of the building?

Were any of the jumper's bodies recovered?

How do you know that trick photography was not used?

Is there any zoomed in close ups on the jumpers?

Many people jumped in the time shortly after the plane hit. They were the unlucky ones in the vicinity of the fire and had no choice other than to burn alive or choke. The fire quickly reduced in intensity and so there was a woman standing in the hole where the plane entered, clearly not in distress due to any heat. There were thousands of people in the building - very few jumped. They did not need to as their situation was not desperate.

When Willie Rodrigues ran out of the WTC after being saved, he was told to keep running and not look back. That is what he did and he said what he saw came back to him night after night.

There was a documentary called the falling man that was on channel 4, it was on last September but cannot find it on google video or you tube. Theres an article about the falling man here though.

I remember that just after 9/11 I saw film of a couple who had jumped holding hands!

What I'm asking is, were the explosive set in the biulding responsable for the heat, and for people jumping out, because the smoke and maybe the heat from smoildering charger's set, were covering a lot of the building.

Certainly looks like there was a lot of smoke in this video, smoke actually kills more people in fires than the actual fire.

Dont forget you have a lot of people clambering for breathing space at the windows. There was a number of images of people hanging from the windows crying for help and getting away from the smoke. In this situation its not at all surprising if people who were at the front were pushed by those also trying to get to the windows. Its similar to when your taught never to rescue someone drowning unless you are 100% confident that you will deal with the situation. When someone is frightened for their life they wont think twice about removing any obstacle. Im not trying to say there was mass homocide and people pushing their collegues out on purpose, but I think some would have been involuntary rejected from the building.
