As an aside, I would draw attention to that side of British activist politics as represented by UK Indymedia that I obsessively hammered on the real issues from mid-2001 to 2003
Somehow a real time-waster - thank grid it doesn't represent the real heart of UK activism I hope

I managed to get to the end of this - it was a local film maker showing his film related to the demonisation of Muslims - I can't remember the title, but it was along the lines of "Don't shoot me just because I'm a Muslim" - sorry if i got that hopelessly wrong.

There were about 30-40 people there and when I arrived, David was emphasising the importance of 9-11 Truth as someone from Socialist Worker was kind of questioning the evidence.

The group seemed to dissipate quickly, but I managed to hand out some copies of articles showing the evidence for bombs under the train and a few audio CDs of Peter Power's interview and Mark Honigsbaum's "Bombs under the train" report.

Embarrasignly there was a physical altercation (not bad) between 2 people - one of whom was an ex member of Socialist Worker Party and the other who was a current member. Fortunately, the large majority of people had left by the time this happened and it didn't really amount to anything - but it was pretty unneccessary nevertheless.

There has been some concern with regard to the level of intellect on the IndyMedia forum : apparently IM is offered as some sort of anti-Establishment movement.
I have visited the forum on several occasions and I think that a Care-in-the-Community soapbox is basically a good idea ; to give the, presumably-housebound, contributors means to try to express themselves. If non-CIC visitors must visit the forum they should try to be tolerant.
However, I do think that the moderator, if there is one, should be fully rational and recognise that foaming at the mouth, ranting and raving should not completely replace evidence-based argument.
These type of people have a genuine fear of all opinions which contradict the official version : the condition is known as "cognitive dissonance". As children, and quite likely now, they had the habit of covering their ears and shouting "I'm not listening."
As long as the foamers keep taking their "medication" the situation should stay reasonably within control.
Some trouble-maker is bound to copy this to the In Mates.

The event was covered on BBC Radio Leeds the day after. The journalist only mentioned that Shayler was challenging the official account of 9/11 but didn't mention 7/7 conspiracy. Will get a transcript.

The journalist was quite right I believe, because I don't think David ever really got that far
