A friend recounts a conversation with a colleague about last night's BBC Twin Towers:

Colleague:

Did you see that Twin Towers programme last night ? Did you see that bit where the man was standing at his desk - on the telephone looking out the window ?

Friend: Yep

Colleague: And he saw the plane coming towards the window ?

Friend: Yep

Colleague:

That was amazing wasn't it ? I couldn't believe it. Imagine that. He hid underneath his desk and that aeroplane flew through the window and well it was a miracle. He' still alive. That must have been a miracle.

Friend: But do you really think it could happen like that ?

Colleague: Well yeah they said it was a miracle how he survived.

Friend:

Come on, can you imagine an airliner flying through that window there, right now and we all hide under our desks. Do you think we'd still be alive ?

Colleague: Well, thats what they said. It was a miracle.

Friend:

Don't you think that the TV is very powerful, people believe what they see.

Colleague:

No. I don't think you're right on that one. Anyway what happened on Eastenders, anyone see it . . .

Oh this has cheered me up.

If I may lighten the proceedings.....

Was getting my haircut last night while the 9/11 show was on BBC1. Girl comes to my house to cut it (freelance).

Anyway, she starts waffling about airport security and tells me that she reckons commercial aeroplanes should be fitted with parachutes and ejector seats !!!

She told me that the airlines have the money, so it's no hassle.

My hair actually looks ok, so she does have a few brain cells.
