| Dont mean to be a spoilsport but there is a rather large central column still sticking up through the middle of the second collapse once most of the building is down. |

See what you mean. Not sure what the significance of that would be though as surely the pancake theory/ weight of the above floors etc would be less likely to result in the central column standing for a while? Unlikely that one column was stronger than the others or was subjected to less force. Interesting to get more footage though.

| I can't download this, about the central column and the north tower collapse, you see a spindly 'cathedral' ruin in the '9/11 eye witness' DVD that lasts a few seconds and then vertically drops. |

That's what I was looking at. Assumed it would be one or two of the central columns standing for a couple of seconds before falling vertically down.

Have looked at it a few times now and it doesn't appear to be smoke in my opinion (and Celtic fan colleagues!). Looks more permanent. Could be some sort of damage or odd light reflection. If you look at the film a few seconds earlier, after the camera has panned round the inside of their room, you can see it again and doesn't appear to change much.

I've had a pretty good look at this video.
3.07 Plane? bottom rightish of screen
5.29 Plane bottom left.
6.21 Audio - I can't make the first bit out, but she's talking to someone on the phone and she says "blah blah blah arrr you're right".
7.05 seems there might have been an explosion at the top of the building.
7.33 something falls.
7.46 flash well below smoke about 3/4s way up left side.
7.52 flashes 2/3s way up tower centred.
7.57 flash half way up on left
8.25 something falls bottom left
8.37 copter very top right side
8.54 something falls just under the smoke line
9.15 something falls out of building where the plane entered
9.26 something seems to be poking out of the building on the corner
11.45 second crash, but I think the plane has actually been edited out of the footage. I don't think the footage is missing. Strange. They describe it as a military plane, very large. Also there's a helicopter or plane on the right hand side just after the crash travelling towards the right. I think this has been edited out on the earlier part of the trajectory as well.
13.43 For some reason in the first tower to be hit, suddenly there's a lot more smoke.
13.52 Vague, possibly something going on at the bottom of the first tower.
14.08 First collapse.
17.18 Fighter jet middle of screen.
19.40 Second collapse.
19.52 Vague - Smoke towards bottom seems to puff upwards.
20.14 Shadow top right hand corner of movie.
20.32 Copter/plane top left.

Could they not have simply stopped filming for a while and then started as soon as soon as it became apparent something more than an accident had happened? Mind you. They must have been pretty quick with the camera!

Hi dude, I don't think it is permanent cos at 13mins 48secs on the video it appears to be no longer there. Although it could be some sort of reflection maybe off another building as it is a little darker cos of the plumes out the top of the building.
Another interesting point is (at 12:15mins on the video) that a girl in the backround says "It was like a military plane" the girl in the foreground then agrees "It was a military plane"... They are not the first to have said this. One guy said "It was like a big grey plane... it had no windows on the side" in another shot, a woman says "That was no American Airlines... That was no American Airlines." There may be a case for always trusting first instincts here. |
Interesting what they were saying about the description of the plane. Ties in with other accounts from the day. I had to listen with the sound down as I'm supposed to be working!

Hi Bongo,
Definitely edited where you mentioned. When the second plane hits the camera swings round slightly, there is a glimpse of a window pane and the plane has just hit maybe 2 seconds before. I reckon they had stopped filming and then quickly started again.
