Shills/Trolls/supporters of the Official Conspiracy theory (re: Kean commission report) what do you make of this independent scientific analysis? |
I mistakenly replied to this in the wrong area, where Pikey took me to task for using an ad hominem argument against the esteemed Dr. Jones. Here I will try to be more objective.
To answer your question, "what do I make of this":
1. At first glance, the presentation seems rather amatuerish to be the product of a college professor. Shockingly so, in fact. The use of multi-colored fonts, exclamation points, and rhetorical questions seems more worthy of a high school project than a high-level presentation from an academic.
2. The quotes from NIST and MIT are misleading. He quotes two experts that say the steel did not melt. What they are saying is that the structural collapse did not require the structural steel to completely melt, only to weaken. At this point, he is begging the question that the molten substance he has shown pictures of is structural steel. He has failed to demonstrate this, only presented it as one of four possibilities.
3. The basis of the whole theory is a false dichotomy. Dr. Jones apparently believes that if NIST's initial hypothesis of what the molten substance was is incorrect, then by default the building was brought down by thermate. I trust I don't need to explain why this is nonsense.
Well, enough for now. I've lost enough brain cells this morning. |

The above is a fine example of Stephen Jone's style of scholarship in a nutshell.
