It is easy to download these files. Not sure on a PC, but on a Mac you can track the link through the Activity window and double click it. This will then download the FLV file, which is Flash video. Then use iSquint (freeware) and convert to MPG which you can then burn to DVD.

This thread from julyseventh.co.uk covers the process using the google video downloader. Then use something like WinAVIconvertor to make VOB's for DVD.

QUOTE (suspecta @ Sep 16 2006, 12:37 PM)
How can you buy the new 7/7 video direct? I've tried downloading it but don't have broadband yet and it would take a day to download! Also: can you save and copy videos downloaded from Google Video?

Without broadband, it's tough. With broadband, it's a doddle, so if you know someone with a broadband connection and a CD/DVD burner, here's what you do.

Get Firefox (which everyone should be using instead of Internet Explorer anyway):
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Then install the Video Downloader plugin:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/

Restart Firefox to complete the Video Downloader extension installation and then head off to the Google video of choice, in this example:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4943675105275097719

When the page loads, click the Video Downloader icon in the bottom right hand side of the Firefox window and you will be presented with a few video download options which allow you to select the type of video you want to download (e.g. .avi or .mp4 file).
====
After doing the Firefox / Video Downloader thing you should end up with one or other of:

LudicrousDiversion77.avi (174Mb) or LudicrousDiversion77.mp4 125Mb)

Suspecta: Once you have either file, you can then burn the file to a CD, or copy it to a memory stick, or other digital media device to watch elsewhere. The time taken to download the film depends on the speed of the broadband connection but 15 to 30 minutes should cover it.

Sinclair: A lot of DVD players will play AVI files, although how you turn it into a full-blown DVD type effort is beyond me. I think most pre-built systems with DVD burners come with DVD burning software (e.g. Nero Burning ROM) which will handle that sort of thing, but maybe someone with experience of such a process will be able to provide a better answer.

Otherwise contact the filmakers at ludicrousdiversion@hotmail.com they are getting it to DVD fairly soon they said.

regards

Download google video player and it stores files in the Google Videos folder in gvi format.

Convert to AVI using this:

http://naevius.com/files/gvi_converter.exe

Conversion to VOB/DVD is something else but why bother?

one caveat on google. google retains all your search requests for a considerable period (of years).

For google - get scroogle.
